“Dena took such good care of our 19 year old kitty, Shultzie while we were on vacation. She was very dependable with on time check ins and his meds plus some play time and photos. We definitely recommend her and will call on her again the next time we go out of town! It's so nice not to have to worry about the care of your furr baby when you are away!”
“Katherine is amazing: responsive, caring, and goes above and beyond looking after our cat while we were gone on vacation. She sent us daily notes on him, and made sure his food and litter area are pristine. When we came home our cat was in good spirits and we are very thankful that she took such good care of him!”
“Mitch did a great job during drop ins to check on my three cats! He sent photos and videos and always kept in contact! I always felt my cats were in good hands while I was gone. And my apartment looks just as I left it! He went above and beyond, and I will book with Mitch in the future for sure!”
“I couldn’t have been happier! Janet sent me pictures and updates daily. The fact that some of my skittish kitties came out to her first day speaks volumes. She even brought in our mail for us and cleaned up some accidents that happened. Thank you so much❤️ And I will definitely be recommending you out Janet.”
“Kylie was FABULOUS! She took on watching my 2 cats for 2 weeks and did an amazing job. She sent pictures, documented everything and was very responsive in every way. I will 100% rebook with her in the future and my cats were so lucky to be watched by her!”
“Jo did a wonderful job taking care of my house and super skittish, introverted cat. She really “got” him and was able to get him to come out and socialize. Daily updates and pictures really gave me peace of mind and allowed me to enjoy my vacation. Thanks Jo!”

About: Recently left my quality management role at Amazon and now pursuing a career in what feeds my spirit - animals. My pets have changed my life for the better, I believe everyone should have the ability to experience what I have! Since I was in kindergarten I have had a unique connection with animals, and starting this new chapter in my life is terrifying yet amazing. So if you decide to book with me or only will you be supporting local (so thank you), but you will feel completely at peace knowing your pet is not just another checkbox on my list…. But a new friend I am happy to have made. I exercise my pets everyday and ensure they are training consistently. I currently have a flexible schedule so we can work on your needs and scheduling. My home is puppy proof, along with a gate I use to separate the upstairs from downstairs so my cat can have some peace and quiet lol
“Fantastic sitter! Went above and beyond to care for my cat while I was gone for 10 days. Was very communicative and caring. Even watered my plants which was a huge plus!”
“Thanks Tina for taking such wonderful care of Gracie and Kya while we were away. You will be top of mind the next time we require a pet sitter. I can’t recommend your services enough. In fact, I think the cats enjoyed your company more than ours.”
“Madeline has been one of the best influences on our dog. Rio was rescued at five years old, after a 7 month stay in the APL. We introduced Madeline to Rio about a year ago, and gave her Rio’s history of Nervous Agression towards strangers. But, Madeline accepted the challenge and today, when she walks in, she is greeted by a happy, friendly Rio. They our officially buddies, and for that we are grateful!”
“Leah took the best care of my two fur babies! She fed them and played with them during her drop in visits everyday! Love the photo updates! StinkerBelle and Josey were happy (and Josey doesn’t come out for anyone — she came out for Leah!). Thank you!!! ?”

Mitchell is a fantastic sitter and was absolutely amazing with my cat while I was out of town for a few days. I received updates every day of the two of them playing and having fun together. Mitchell is very attentative and goes above and beyond to make sure all of your care instructions are followed. I'll always consider Mitchell for pet sitting with future trips.
Arissa did a fantastic job caring for our senior cat, who requires medical injections. She is a great communicator, detail-oriented and pleasant to work with. She is a self-starter and I was able to relax while we were gone because she did such a good job. Highly recommend!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
