“We’re so grateful for Janet! We had overlapping work travel and she was able to watch Oscar despite our wonky schedules. We are a little concerned, however, that our cat is starting to like Janet better than us because he’s clearly disappointed when we come home! 😂”

“Molly and Caroline took great care of our cats when we were busy in the middle of a move and when we were away on a short trip. They were great with the cats and very nice. The cats loved them and enjoyed hanging out with them. We wholeheartedly recommend Molly and Caroline to anyone looking for a sitter for their fur babies.”

About: I’ve had dogs since forever, I love mine more than anything. My experiences dog sitting and cat sitting range from my neighbors and family to taking care of animals on my uncles farm. I love meeting people’s pets so it would be my pleasure to meet more!! My dog Ruby is 15 years old and I love her to death, I can’t imagine her being alone all day. I go to college full time at Cleveland State University. I do play in multiple orchestras as well, but although I’m busy I have time in between classes and in the afternoons/evenings that I struggle to fill! I would love to have a slow morning taking care of a pet, or going on a walk, so I am very flexible. I understand that all pets have their own personality, and honestly the best way to take care of them relies on me getting to know them. The quirks about pets are my favorite thing about them, and I am willing to work with any needs they have. I love spending time with any animal and making sure they feel loved and entertained.
About: Hi! My name is Ebony, and I’m a college student pursuing a degree in Veterinary Technology. I’ve had cats and dogs my entire life and currently have a dog of my own, so caring for animals isn’t just a job… it’s my passion. With my background, I’m comfortable administering oral medications, recognizing changes in behavior, and responding appropriately in emergency situations. Cleanliness and organization are very important to me, and I always make sure your home and your pet’s space are left tidy. I am more than happy to provide regular updates and photos, so you always know how your fur baby is doing while you’re away. ❤️ While I attend school full-time , my availability outside of classes is fully dedicated to your pet’s care. I currently offer in-home sitting and walking services so your pet can stay in their familiar environment and maintain their daily routine. I understand how important patience, consistency, and compassion are when it comes to building trust with both pets and their owners. I strictly follow all provided feeding schedules, dietary needs, medication instructions, and routines to ensure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and stress-free in their own home. Thank you for considering me as your sitter ❣️

“Katherine’s excellent! She takes great care of my kitties, including the medical furbaby that takes an oral and a transdermal medication every day. I’ve rebooked and will continue to rebook Katherine in the future”

“Kenna is great. Ive used her multiple times and each time has been great. She's on time and dog adores her. She is very considerate about specific things youbtell her about your pup. I'd recommend her to everyone! Thanks kenna”

“We had a wonderful experience with Elinor as our cat sitter! She was a great communicator from our initial request through her very last visit, which gave us a lot of peace of mind while we were away on an extended trip. Our cats don't always come out for strangers, so we were especially happy to see that they warmed up to her enough to come out for treats and even play with her during some of her visits. She sent us cute photos and thoughtful updates each day, which we really appreciated and loved seeing while we were away. Our flight home was unexpectedly delayed, and she was incredibly flexible about adding an extra day with the girls. It was such a relief knowing they were in good hands. We would definitely use her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and communicative pet sitter!”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with experience caring for both cats and dogs. I grew up around cats and have been a dog owner myself for the past 5 years, in addition to regularly caring for friends’ dogs. I work a 9–5 job from home, which means your pet gets plenty of company throughout the day rather than being left alone for hours. I’m also able to take dogs on an extended walk during my lunch break, so they can get some exercise, fresh air, and attention in the middle of the day. Whether your pet needs a long walk, some playtime, a cozy companion while you’re away, or just a little extra TLC, I’ll treat them like they’re my own. I’m dependable, attentive, and happy to follow your pet’s normal routine and preferences. Most importantly, I know how much trust it takes to leave your pets in someone else’s care. My goal is to make sure both you and your pet feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for! My weekly routine is pretty consistent, which is great for dogs who love having a predictable schedule! Every workday I start each morning with a trip to the gym, then come home and take the pups on a nice, extended walk through the Metroparks near my house. Once we’re home, I settle into work for a few hours while the dogs get some downtime. I have a fenced-in yard, so I like to let them out regularly throughout the morning to stretch their legs, sniff around, and get some fresh air. Lunchtime means another extended walk! It’s a great way to break up the workday and give everyone a chance to burn off some energy. Afterward, my own dog usually settles in for a well-earned afternoon nap while I finish up work. Once the workday wraps up, we usually head outside for one more walk before settling in for the evening. If everyone’s feeling a little less energetic, we’ll skip the walk and have some backyard fun instead, such as fetch, tug-of-war, or just general goofing around. Basically, your pup can expect plenty of exercise, fresh air, playtime, and company throughout the day, with lots of opportunities to relax and recharge too. As a dog owner myself, I know how important it is to feel confident that your dog is safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. My goal is to provide a comfortable, low-stress home environment where pups can feel like part of the family. I have a fully fenced yard where dogs can safely get outside for fresh air and playtime, along with plenty of opportunities for walks and exercise throughout the day. Since I work from home, I’m also around to keep an eye on things and make sure everyone is doing well. For daycare and boarding, I’m happy to follow your dog’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, medications, walks, crate time, and any other preferences or house rules you provide. I’ll also make sure dogs have time to relax and nap when they need a break from all the excitement. When introducing dogs to my home, I prioritize compatibility and a gradual introduction so everyone feels comfortable. I want every pup staying with me to feel safe, supervised, and genuinely at home, not like they’re being dropped off somewhere unfamiliar.
“Ellen was great! I really appreciate her sending me photo updates while I was away - especially because it seems like she had to go looking for them since they were shy while I was away. Gave me a lot of peace of mind.”

“Tyler was fantastic and we wood definitely book with him again! We appreciated the chance to speak with him through a pre-visit and introduce him to our pets. He was very communicative with us, and took great care to spend quality time with our pets during each visit. His photos brought smiles to our faces and allowed us to relax, knowing that our pets were receiving excellent care.”

About: Hi, I’m Kris! Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I genuinely love getting to know each pet’s unique personality. I have two years of professional experience working in a busy doggy daycare, where I was responsible for safely supervising and caring for up to 20 dogs at a time. That experience taught me how to read canine body language, manage group play, administer medications, maintain proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, and provide a safe, low-stress environment for every dog in my care. I’m comfortable with dogs of all breeds and sizes, including puppies, senior dogs, reactive dogs, and pets with behavioral challenges or special medical needs. I’ve also fostered dogs in my home, which has given me additional experience helping nervous or transitioning pets feel safe and comfortable. At home, I’m a proud pet parent to three dogs and a cat, so I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your furry family members. Whether your pet needs an energetic walking buddy, a patient companion, medication, or simply lots of love and attention while you’re away, I’ll care for them as if they were my own. My goal is simple: to make sure both you and your pet feel comfortable, confident, and happy every step of the way. I can’t wait to meet you and your best friend! et care fits naturally into my daily routine because I already structure my day around consistency and animal care. I have experience managing multiple pets at once, so I’m used to building my schedule around feeding times, litter box maintenance, play sessions, and check-ins. I’m typically available mornings, afternoons, and evenings, which allows me to provide reliable drop-in visits and maintain a steady routine for each pet I care for. I’m comfortable incorporating visits into my day-to-day activities, and I plan my time so pets always get full attention without feeling rushed. Because I’ve worked in structured animal care settings and have fostered pets in my home, staying on top of routines like feeding, cleaning, medication, and companionship is second nature to me. Caring for animals isn’t something I “fit in”—it’s something I naturally organize my day around I prioritize safety, trust, and a calm environment in every pet care visit. I take time to understand each pet’s routine, personality, and any specific needs so I can provide care that feels familiar and stress-free for them. I’m careful with home entry and follow all owner instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medication routines, and any house rules. I keep doors secured during visits, monitor pets closely during interactions, and make sure their environment stays clean, comfortable, and safe at all times. Building trust with both pets and owners is important to me. I approach each animal with patience and respect, especially shy, senior, or anxious pets, and I always move at their comfort level. My goal is to create a safe, consistent experience so pets feel secure while you’re away and you feel
“Jessica dropped-in to feed and take care of our cats twice a day while we were gone for 10 days. She did a wonderful job, we’ve just come home and our cats are still happy and healthy, and their litter boxes clean! We had a crazy wind storm while we were gone that blew open a side door and knocked down part of our fence, she even helped to close & re-lock the door and sent a picture of our fence to let us know what had happened. This help showed me she cared about how we felt when we came home from our trip abroad!”

About: Hello! I am a proud Clevelander and lover of the outdoors. I was previously on Rover as a regular dog-sitter and dog-walker, and looking to pick it up again as my schedule has become flexible. I loved caring for others’ dogs and meeting their needs when their pawrents were out of town or at work! I now live with my husband in a house with two pups of our own, a 8-year-old miniature poodle named Charlie and a 13 -year-old welsh terrier named Prim. I’m available for dog walking during the workweek! I have a flexible schedule these days and would be happy to walk your dog during the weekday. I always approach dogs slowly and allow them to sniff me first. On walks, I allow them to set their own pace. Then, I make sure they are comfortable and settled before I leave.
“Alexis was very quick to respond, accommodating, and sent me two really cute pics of my pups. First time on Rover, and Alexis made it a great experience. Will be using her again for sure!”

Sydney and James were great and very responsive! They were very proactive about making sure they were getting the details right in caring for our boys. They were even very flexible about coming back an additional time to take care of our cats when our building security erroneously prevented them from entering the building one morning. Would highly recommend these two to anybody looking for cat sitters in the Cleveland area.

Daniel was fantastic! He was very communicative throughout the entire booking process and made us feel comfortable from the start. He took the time to do a meet and greet beforehand, which we really appreciated. Sunny and Nala were very well cared for, and the updates and photos he sent while we were away were great. We loved seeing how they were doing and knowing they were in good hands. Daniel was professional, kind, and reliable. We would highly recommend him and would absolutely book with him again!

Torrey was the best! We have to keep our kitties separated and she was very understanding of that and made us feel comfortable while on vacation. We got lots of photos (which we loved!) and she was very quick to respond/ communicate. This was my first time using Rover and I will definitely try to book Torrey the next time it is needed.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Newburgh Heights. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
