“2nd time leaving my fur baby with Angela. Starting to feel like family. My Nacho had so much fun with her dogs and her grandchildren. He looked so at home. Angela will forever be my sitter of choice!!!!”

“Samantha was a kind and caring sitter! She sent lots of pictures and kept me updated on how my puppy was doing. She also has 2 small and very well behaved pups and this was great for socialization. Very happy to leave my puppy with Samantha.”

“Karin took great care with my 5 month old puppy, sent photos and was great at communicating what Daisy was doing. It was nice that her dog got along with the puppy and she had a great backyard for the dog to run and play. You can tell that her and her husband love dogs. I would highly recommend her as a pet sitter. :)”

“Brendan and Sarah took amazing care of my little man for 4 days! They kept me updated, sent lots of pictures, and gave my dog lots of love and snuggles. I was referred to these two and I felt so comfortable knowing Tito was in great hands. I was questioning if Tito was going to even want to come back home with all the fun he was having! I can’t think those two enough for all the great care they gave Tito while I was away.”

“Angel did a great job caring for our dog Kawaii. It was our 1st time leaving her overnight anywhere and Angel put our mind at ease. She sent pictures and updates everyday without us even requesting. She took the time to ask questions about her and even let us do a meet and greet. Angel was very professional and you can tell she loves animals!! In the future I will definitely be asking Angel to care for Kawaii again.”

“This was the first time we have ever left our dogs with anyone. I must say Christine is the best especially when it comes to watching dogs but I can tell that she genially loves being around animals. Our Oldest dog Layla has always been around adults but loves kids within minutes. Christine was able to pet her and had her sitting right next to her on the couch. Layla was calm I worry about her the most so thank you Christine so much for being a amazing person and beautiful family it is very had to find people like that We also have two twin huskies puppies who we consider to be double trouble. They are about two months old and full of life. Christine's family took to them and made sure that they were loved. We are thankful for the willingness to accept our dogs into their home while we were away.”

“We are so happy that we had Sarah to watch Harper while her parents got married! We got plenty of updates and even some well wishes from our pup on the wedding day! I would highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for dog sitter. Thank you!”

“This is the second time Alexandria watch Beau and this time for a longer period and she did an amazing job. She sent pictures and provided updates everyday. She made us feel in peace while we were away from Beau, and Beau was very comfortable with her.”

“Shannon took really good care of my service dog Ruby while I was away. She was giving me updates everyday and sending me photos of Ruby. Shannon is my go to whenever I need a dog sitter. Thank you so much!”

“Anna was simply amazing. My dog really enjoyed being with her. She even got my dog eating which speaks to Anna’s warm spirit. Book with Anna and you won’t be worried.”

“Lillian was so wonderful! She sent detailed reports and lots of photos. She took Rawlings on so many adventures and was very patient with his quirks. We will definitely work with Lillian again!”

“Keeley was so incredible! It was one of my first times using Rover and she was so flexible, even through some last minute schedule changes and weather-related delays. Bear had an excellent time and she sent me pictures of him outdoors enjoying the snow whenever I asked. She is very responsive and communicative. I will be booking again next time I should need!!”

“Our second time using Victoria for pet sitting. Our dog felt right at home and was well taken care of. Huge fenced yard with privacy fence and kiddos to play with! Lonnie had a great time. Will use Victoria again in the future”

About: Hi! I’m Danielle, and I’ve always loved dogs and their fun, energetic personalities. I grew up with a yellow Lab who was part of my family for 15 years, and I regularly help care for my sister’s and friends’ dogs. I’m reliable, attentive, and genuinely enjoy being active with dogs. I’d love to give your pup plenty of exercise, playtime, attention, and love while you’re away! I am a full time teacher but available in the evenings after 4pm. I am available most weekends as well! I am an early riser and enjoy spending as much time outside as possible. I have a fenced yard and small sun porch. I do not have any other animals in the home so I am able to be very attentive and accommodating to your pets various needs! I live near a small public park and am walking distance to Edgewater Park. I also am more than happy to take your dog on hikes and have a vehicle that is pet-safe.
“Riya was the very best dog and house sitter! I felt so very at ease knowing she was there. She brought her wonderful dog too-at our request. And sent lots of pics of our smiling pup! Highly recommend! Thank you Riya!!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Newburgh Heights
James is fantastic! We appreciate how loving and patient he is with our energetic lab, Cleo. He is great about sending reassuring updates, photos, and video which we truly appreciate. James is also very chill and laid-back and flexible with timing associated with pick up and drop off. Thanks again for another great stay James!!

This was Linford’s second stay with Mary, and we would definitely book with her again. Mary kept us updated on what she and Linford were up to throughout his stay. He was excited to see her when we dropped him off and excited to see us when we picked him up. A perfect combination!

I never have to worry about my dog when she is with Kimberly. She’s great about sending pictures and videos so that I can see how my dog is doing. My dog has never looked stressed in any of the pictures at Kimberly’s, and that is unusual for my tender hearted dog! I will continue using Kimberly as long as she’s available!!

This was my first time using Rover or even boarding my dog with someone who wasn’t a family member. Needless to say, I was pretty nervous about it and when I dropped my dog off, she was so worried and upset. But Hannah was a pro. She never made me feel like I was asking about my dog too much and alleviated any worries I had, always with a calm and understanding demeanor. Sent plenty of pics and updates and it wasn’t long before my dog warmed up to her. Thanks again Hannah!

Shirley is truly amazing. She’s attentive, patient, and treats my dogs as if they were her own. I never have to worry because I know they’re safe, happy, and surrounded by kindness. The care, consistency, and heart she puts into what she does is truly incredible. From the moment I met her, it was clear she has a genuine love for animals, and my little crew feels it every single time they’re with her. Bianca and Dolce absolutely adore Shirley. Knowing my dogs are so deeply loved and cared for when I’m away brings me complete peace of mind.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Newburgh Heights home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Newburgh Heights.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Newburgh Heights sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
