“Grace and Wu were fantastic. Our cat is a bit shy, but Grace and Wu gave her all the space and love she needed to do well in an unfamiliar environment. Highly recommended if you ever need a sitter!”

“Qin En took good care of my cat Echo while I was out of town. She sent me multiple pictures/videos a day so I can enjoy my vacation while making sure my cat is doing well. She genuinely loves cats and actually any animals! 😂 highly recommend 😊”

“Margarita and Cristian took wonderful care of my dog, Gracey, while I was away for 10 days abroad. They sent pictures and let me know how she was doing. I provided notes and suggestions about Gracey as she has anxiety and she managed to adjust really well in their environment and with the other dogs that had overlapped with Gracey’s stay. I look forward to when I need to have Gracey stay with them in the future.”

“Nancy was great! She made sure our pup was comfortable before his stay and then sent us updates while we were gone. She is very trustworthy. We would definitely have our pup stay with her again.”

“I’ve been boarding with Juliana several times now and she is just a dream! So attentive, trustworthy, and caring…my dog loves her and actually runs to her house now whenever we drop her off. You won’t regret having Juliana watch over your furry loved ones!”

“Amazing experience, Vanessa is great, my babies were taken care of as if they were part of her family. Vanessa is so loving and really payed attention to every detail. Will always recommend 100 %. Trixi (Dog) and Ash (Cat) had a amazing time.”

About: I have a five-year-old Cavapoo whom I have cared for since he was a puppy. He requires a lot of attention, exercise, and companionship, which has taught me to be patient, gentle, responsible, and attentive to a dog’s individual needs. I work from home, allowing me to provide consistent supervision, frequent potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of companionship throughout the day. I also have a large, fully fenced yard where dogs can safely run, play, and explore. I work from home four days a week and would love to spend my extra time caring for your furry family members! As a homebody, I'm usually home and able to give your dog plenty of attention, companionship, and care throughout their stay. Your pup won't be left alone and will always have someone nearby to keep them company. I have a large, fully fenced backyard where dogs can safely run, explore, and play. We enjoy playing fetch and staying active, so your dog will get plenty of exercise, enrichment, and affection while they're with us.
“Kristin was an amazing sitter. I can tell Sushi had so much fun and was cared for because he didn’t look disheveled coming home. Thank you, Kristin!”

“Yogeeta was great and very attentive when prior to my booking. It was last minute and she answered any questions i had an even set up a last minute meet and greet which was great. “I had to go on a trip that was booked months in advance but with the holidays around the corner, it was very hard to find someone caring and trustworthy. I came across Chris and his wonderful home and thought why not. Once I dropped my pups off it was like they entered their second home. They were given full attention and the best treatment any dog owner could ask for. I was updated with photos and videos almost every hour. It was almost like as if I never left. I definitely will be coming back again. If you need a trustworthy and attentive sitter, look no further than here! Thank you Chris!”

“Aritra is an amazing dog sitter, and I truly appreciate everything he does. Summer has stayed with him several times, and he always takes such great care of her. I never have to worry—he keeps me updated with pictures and makes sure she’s happy and comfortable every time.”

“Susan did amazing job watching manny!! She made sure he had many walks and snuggles. If you want to make sure your pup is in good hands, leave them with susan!”

“I can not praise Vanessa enough. I had a quick out of town trip and my usual sitter cancelled the day before i was scheduled to leave. I found Vanessa, and she was wonderful. Not only accommodating and calming - she answered all my questions with grace, understanding it was stressful. ( i may well be overbearing when it comes to my puppy) She sent me photos, and kept me up to date with Aubreys progress. Vanessa is a 5 star sitter, and i will now call her first when i need to have someone look after Aubrey. Thank you Vanessa!”
“Pam & Jose are fantastic! She asks questions if she notices anything out of the ordinary & extremely loving towards our little guy. Leaving him with them allows us to travel with ease knowing our dog is in great hands.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - North New Hyde Park
Tanu is amazingly kind and caring. We left our 15 year old Tibetan Terrier with her - on the first day he was not happy and a bit disoriented - she took care of him with loving hand. By day 2 he was so relaxed, happy and not anxious to come home with us when we went to pick him up!! In would completely recommend Tanu to care for any dog at any time.
We had a wonderful first stay boarding our senior dog with Von Marie! We did a meet and greet at a nearby park and she took a long of time and attention to really know our dog's preferences and schedule. She sent us frequent updates and photos. Our pup had some tummy upset while at her house but she was communicative and put us at ease while we were away. We will be using her again later this summer and know our pup is in caring hands!

Another great vacation for Frodo with Britany - she’s the best! She sent daily photos and videos without me even having to ask, and I never worried about Frodo during his stay. He looked like he was having the best time, and I honestly don’t think he wanted to leave when we picked him up! We can’t wait for Frodo to stay with her again in the future.

We felt very comfortable leaving our puppy with Shan. Her and her family clearly love dogs and sent us many pictures and videos throughout the stay. Our puppy seemed well adjusted when we picked him back up! We plan to have our puppy stay with Shan again when we need a sitter for our fur baby.

Piper and Juno had a fantastic week being cared for by Lisa and Gracie, Juno’s new best friend! Both our dogs were cared for like family, and Lisa shared many pictures and kept us up-to-date throughout the week. We were able to enjoy our vacation, knowing that they were both happy and loved and in great hands. A very kind family to take care of our loved ones.!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
