“We needed to leave our dog Chopper for more than two weeks while away. We found Duvin and Chopper had a great time at his place. Duvin was always responsive, knows how to handle dogs of different temperaments and helped Chopper socialize again in a safe environment. We will book again.”

“Jessica and her family were amazing with Charlie. They loved and took care of him like he was their own. She sent photos all the time. This is a loving household with responsible owners!”

“This was our first time using the app or dog sitting of any kind. We could not be happier, Mariela was amazing!!! She treated our dog like he was her own… and not only was she an amazing caregiver, she’s experienced in pet care overall! Our dog loved her and we look forward to having her watch him again! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH MARIELA ?”

“I am absolutely so grateful to Vanessa and her family for taking such good care of Prince. They are wonderful. I was a bit nervous because it was going to be my first time leaving Prince overnight with other dogs. I didn’t know what to expect. But they were so reassuring and very clearly so good with all types of dogs. Prince is 1.25 years old and they gave me good insight and advice about his behavior. Very communicative through the whole week. And Prince did so well with the company and had a great time!! He was surrounded by love, cuddles, and attention. Will absolutely work Vanessa and family again if they are free the next time I’m going out of town!”

“Cynthia was amazing with Chai! Chai felt comfortable and came back with no issues. Cynthia sent updates and pictures and answered all my messages in a timely manner. She was on time to pick up and drop off Chai. Would definitely book with Cynthia again!”

“Amazing! Tyler is super reliable and trustworthy. I booked the night before and he was very accommodating. Pluto really enjoyed his time. Tyler took him on several walks and gave him lots of love. I received photos every three hours and could see how much comfortable Pluto was. I would highly recommend you book with Tyler!”

“I have never left my nervous, covid dog was anyone else before. Jenny was so quick with getting back to me and ultimately sent me so many updates that I felt comfortable on my vacation knowing that my dog was okay. Now in the future I know if I need some days where I will not be home I can send my puppy to a comfortable, loving home where Jenny's main priority is that my dog is having a relaxing calm time. I can't wait to talk to you again Jenny thanks!”

About: I have been living with a dog (at one time with 3) since 2010. We recently said goodbye to our lab/retriever mix and are not quite yet ready to adopt a dog again but we miss having a dog around. As a pet parent I understand how stressful it can be finding reliable care and finding someone who will love your dog as much you do. It can also be tough when you find out you have to work late and will need someone to come to your rescue to let your baby out and feed them. When I’m not walking dogs, I’m taking care of my human children (who also love dogs) which means I have a somewhat flexible schedule, and I spend a lot of time outdoors. We have always found lots of fun outdoor bonding opportunities everywhere we have lived with our dog. We both love being outside and being active and I would love to share this hobby with your dog too! I am a full time mom to two school aged children. I have reliable blocks of availability for the most part. I am in and out during the day and my husband works from home a lot of the time as qell. We’re very big on walks, dog parks, fetch (our sweet pup was inexhaustible and could play fetch for hours), and my kids practically live in our yard so I’m outdoors a lot when I’m home. When caring for a pet in a client’s home, I follow the care instructions given by the pet parent.
The median cost per night for pet boarding in Williston Park is $60

Von Marie and Steven were invaluable in taking care of our elderly pup. This was their third time watching him, and our dog had a urgent health matter while we were away. Von Marie and Steven went above and beyond to take care of him, they were communicative each step of the way, and we knew that he was in the best hands until we were able to go home to him. I can't imagine trusting anyone else to take care of our dog!

I can’t say enough about Britany!! She is truly a “dog whisperer”! My dog Scrappy is an extremely reactive dog to other dogs. The four days that I left Scrappy with Britany Scrappy was so calm and happy with her other doggy playmates. It was amazing and made me so happy. Britany’s communication with me throughout the stay was incredible. Not only did I get messages but videos of Scrappy as well without even asking Britany to do so. Britany treated my baby like it was her own. I never worried once. I would recommend Britany 1000%

Sharon was amazing!! I would highly recommend her! My pup has pretty high anxiety and generally doesn’t do well around new people or other dogs, but she got along so well with Sharon, her family, and her dogs. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing she was comfortable and well cared for. Safe to say, we’ve found our go-to person whenever we need someone to board Ginny! 😊

Lisa took such amazing care of Ruffles while we were away for 3 weeks. She sent daily updates with photos and videos that really put our minds at ease while we were miles away. We will absolutely be using Lisa again for our future needs and highly recommend her for your fur babies!

Tanu is great! She took good care of our 6 year old Ace for a day. She loves your pet like it’s her own. Ace is picky with his eating habits and spoiled I should say, but she was very concerned when he skipped his meal. She followed all our instructions and sent us pictures of Ace more often than we expected. He was very happy at her place. I would use her services again without any hesitation and would recommend her to anyone who is looking for an excellent sitter for their furry. Thank you so much Tanu for taking care of Ace!

I had a great experience with Tina! She took the time to meet Summer on short notice before taking care of her. She sent pictures and updates twice a day and I could tell Summer had a great time. She also has a fenced backyard where Summer enjoyed playing fetch and getting her zoomies out. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter.

I have never left my pup with a non-family member before and all I can say is - I am so happy that we found Jack! From the very first meet and greet and throughout the stay, Jack was communicative and kind. He sent me plenty of updates which helped ease any nervousness I had. My pup was also struggling with sensitive paws and Jack kept an eye on it and gave me some tips. Thanks again to Jack. My pup had such a great time staying with him!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
