“Pam & Jose are fantastic! She asks questions if she notices anything out of the ordinary & extremely loving towards our little guy. Leaving him with them allows us to travel with ease knowing our dog is in great hands.”

“Christopher is excellent! He was flexible and understanding when our trip was cancelled last minute, and when we rebooked, he took great care of Molly! He sent lots of videos and keeps you in touch. Molly will be back!”

About: What sets me apart is the genuine care and attention I give to every dog I look after. I treat them like my own—with love, patience, and respect for their routines. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, and I’m comfortable with both puppies and senior dogs. I understand that each dog has its own personality and needs, and I take the time to make sure they feel safe and happy in my care. Since I’m not currently a dog owner, I pour all my energy and affection into the dogs I sit for. I also have a fenced yard, which gives dogs a secure place to play and relax. I’m reliable, detail-oriented, and always keep pet parents updated so they can feel confident while they’re away. Pet care is something I genuinely enjoy, and I make time for it on weekends and some weekday evenings. I’m usually available on weekends for boarding and daycare, and with advance notice, I can provide walks or care after 5:00 PM during the week. Since I don’t currently have a dog of my own, spending time with pets through Rover gives me the chance to enjoy their company and provide the attention they deserve. It’s something I look forward to fitting into my weekly routine, and I always plan my schedule carefully to give each dog quality care and attention. When caring for dogs in my home, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and part of the family. I live in a house with a fenced yard, so dogs have a secure space to play and get fresh air. I stick to their usual routines as closely as possible—feeding, walking, playtime, and rest—based on their owner’s instructions. I keep a calm, clean environment and always give plenty of love and attention. For walks and weekend daycare, I focus on making the experience fun and stress-free. I tailor walks to each dog’s energy level and needs, whether it’s a quick potty break or a longer walk for exercise. I also pay close attention to leash safety, weather conditions, and staying in familiar areas unless otherwise requested. Whether in my home or out and about, your dog’s comfort, safety, and happiness are always my top priority.
“Vanessa was absolutely spectacular! She was extremely accommodating when plans changed. She did such a phenomenal job and mu dog had so much fun - he almost didn’t want to leave all of his new friends!!”

“From the first meet and greet, we knew that Cynthia would take a great care of our Canela. She sent us updates regularly which made us feel at peace while on vacation. My daughters asked if we can always leave our dog with her whenever we go away. We definitely will. Thank you so much Cynthia.”

“Wenxu & her husband are amazing. They watched Enzo for the second time and accommodated us due to an emergency. I will continue to use them in the future & highly recommend. Enzo loves them and he love getting many pictures through the day/stay ❤️”

“Awesome boarding experience. This was my second booking and it was a pleasure. I received pictures daily and prompt responses. I look forward to re-booking, knowing my pet is happy, safe and comfortable! Awesome sitter . Great experience!”

“Anna went above and beyond the call of duty for myself and my dog. The retractable leash I provided broke on one of her walks and without hesitation she went out to get another leash for future walks. My flight coming back was delayed and she stayed up late for me to arrive to pick up. She checked in everyday with updates and photos on how things were going. Anna was super tentative and detail oriented with my pets routine and needs. She made the experience for myself and my pet very comforting and assuring throughout the duration of the stay. If you're looking for a genuinely good hearted and trustworthy sitter then Anna is for you. I would recommend her to anybody.”

“This was Rooster’s third stay and he loves his visits to Mariela’s house. It certainly makes out of town trips less stressful for my family and I when we know our pup is having a blast!”

“This was my first time booking with Vanessa, and it went great! We met beforehand so Maverick could get to know her and her home, which have me peace of mind. Maverick loved playing with Oreo and Moreno, and had access to the backyard all the time. Vanessa kept me updated with pictures and videos throughout his stay. I could tell he was happy and well cared for. I will definitely book with her again!”

“If you’re looking for a home away from home for your fur baby look no further. Gloria and Jose are awesome. My Smokey had a blast meeting new friends and hanging with Gloria. Gloria has such a kind and gentle demeanor and genuinely loves dogs. There’s scheduled play time and buddy walks as well as solo time with each dog. I was able to finally enjoy a vacation knowing my fur baby was in good hands. I’ll definitely use them again. Thank you again!!!!!”

“Jana is awesome! She is responsive and kept us updated with pictures. We felt comfortable leaving Nori in her care and Nori really seemed to enjoy her stay there as well. We think she was sad to leave lol. Luckily, we already booked again with Jana for another upcoming trip!”

“First time using Rover. Krissy watched my Cairn Terrier for 4 days. She and her family did a tremendous job! We were sent pictures of her acclimating into their home and family. Would recommend Krissy to all who are looking for a safe, healthy home to board their pet for a few days!”

“I was very nervous about leaving my dog with a boarder. I had only left her with relatives. Judy was very helpful. We did a meet and greet beforehand and she took care of my dog. Would definitely use again.”

About: I have been living with a dog (at one time with 3) since 2010. We recently said goodbye to our lab/retriever mix and are not quite yet ready to adopt a dog again but we miss having a dog around. As a pet parent I understand how stressful it can be finding reliable care and finding someone who will love your dog as much you do. It can also be tough when you find out you have to work late and will need someone to come to your rescue to let your baby out and feed them. When I’m not walking dogs, I’m taking care of my human children (who also love dogs) which means I have a somewhat flexible schedule, and I spend a lot of time outdoors. We have always found lots of fun outdoor bonding opportunities everywhere we have lived with our dog. We both love being outside and being active and I would love to share this hobby with your dog too! I am a full time mom to two school aged children. I have reliable blocks of availability for the most part. I am in and out during the day and my husband works from home a lot of the time as qell. We’re very big on walks, dog parks, fetch (our sweet pup was inexhaustible and could play fetch for hours), and my kids practically live in our yard so I’m outdoors a lot when I’m home. When caring for a pet in a client’s home, I follow the care instructions given by the pet parent.
“Nancy was great! She made sure our pup was comfortable before his stay and then sent us updates while we were gone. She is very trustworthy. We would definitely have our pup stay with her again.”

“Veronica took exceptional care of my two dogs Molly and Oliver. She was very attentive to all their needs and provided a safe, fun environment for their entire stay. I will definitely be using Veronica again.”

“Alba took incredible care of my two dogs. They are 15 and 4.5 years old, with different needs and she tends to them both. I am always impressed with photos and videos she sends while watching my dogs.”

Vanessa was so easy to communicate with and made me feel SO comfortable with leaving my dog with her. She understood my dogs needs, specifically that she's a master escape artist. She kept updated with texts and pictures throughout my dogs stay. I also liked that her family was involved, as it made it a very homey environment. Thank you Vanessa and Logan for taking the best care of my little Bun. I highly recommend her!

It was our first time ever leaving our dog with a sitter. We were very nervous about it, but Sonia and her family made sure to send us videos and photos of her every day and constantly kept us updated on the well being of our Ginger! They welcomed her with open arms and made her feel right at home immediately . Thank you so much for taking such great care of our baby!

This was the first time I had to board Piper for a family trip. Karina is extraordinary in communication and providing love and care to Piper. Updates with the pictures every few hours throughout the day certainly gave me peace of mind while I was on the trip. I could tell how happy and loved Piper was at Karina’s place from the pictures. I would recommend Karina to my family and friends for dog care. Would definitely be a return customer in the future!

Lisa took such amazing care of Ruffles while we were away for 3 weeks. She sent daily updates with photos and videos that really put our minds at ease while we were miles away. We will absolutely be using Lisa again for our future needs and highly recommend her for your fur babies!

Tanu is great! She took good care of our 6 year old Ace for a day. She loves your pet like it’s her own. Ace is picky with his eating habits and spoiled I should say, but she was very concerned when he skipped his meal. She followed all our instructions and sent us pictures of Ace more often than we expected. He was very happy at her place. I would use her services again without any hesitation and would recommend her to anyone who is looking for an excellent sitter for their furry. Thank you so much Tanu for taking care of Ace!

Erica did a great job babysitting our two dogs while we were on vacation. She communicated with us every single day, kept us updated with how they were doing, and gave us peace of mind while we were gone. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy person sitter!

I had a great experience with Tina! She took the time to meet Summer on short notice before taking care of her. She sent pictures and updates twice a day and I could tell Summer had a great time. She also has a fenced backyard where Summer enjoyed playing fetch and getting her zoomies out. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
