“Michelle was a Godsend!!! I was referred to her for a last minute dog sitter. The moment I met her I knew she truly loves dogs. Michelle put my mind at ease and I knew Rocki would be in excellent hands. Rocki is normally standoffish and LOVED her immediately after meeting her. She sent pictures, videos, and updates throughout the night. Rocki is very scared of thunderstorms and she petted her throughout the night to keep her calm. I will definitely use her again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!”

“Duvin provided a great service watching my dog . My dog does have some anxiety and he was super comfortable staying with Duvin . He sent pictures and was very accommodating . My dog got along well with his dog . I would for sure use him again .”

“Tyler did a wonderful job watching our dog over Memorial Day weekend. He was highly responsive, sent many photos, and created a very safe environment. We can’t recommend Tyler enough!”

“Sabrina was so attentive and caring. She took amazing care of my puppy. He just had a surgery and I didn’t have to worry about him at all during my trip. Thanks again”

About: I really think I have quite a bit of experience with pets. As I was growing up, I had several at the same time and I took care of them all at once and with a lot of love. I had a rabbit, two cats, and a dog. I'm currently available every day, and regarding the schedule, I think we can discuss that between ourselves and decide. I would love to work for you, and I'm eager to meet your lovely pet. I live in a decent apartment, not too big but cozy, and my biggest advantage is that I live across from a park and close to a pet shop.
“Maria is amazing! She communicated and provided pictures. She never made me feel like a bother no matter how many times I reached out. Will definitely book her again”

About: Hi there! I’m a proud dog mom to a sweet Cavapoo I’ve raised since he was just 10 weeks old, so I know firsthand how much love and care our furry family members need. Over the years, I’ve also cared for friends’ dogs while they were away, making sure they felt safe, happy, and loved. I truly adore dogs of all kinds, and my pup is very friendly with both people and other dogs—so your fur baby will always have a gentle companion nearby. I’d love the chance to give your dog the same care and attention I give my own. I work from home 1-2 days per week so I’ll be available to stay with your pets full time for up to 4 days. Except Tuesdays and Wednesdays, I can work from home any day I want during the week. I’m able to work from home full week if needed for longer boarding services. I will feed them, take them out for walks at least twice a day, let them have potty breaks as many as they need, and play with them.

“Lorena is an amazing sitter!!! 1000% recommend!! My dog did not want to leave her home after staying there one night! She sent lots of pictures and read all the directions for him! Please do yourself a favor and book her now!!”

“Anny is an absolute gem. She watched our Maltese, Lila, and she is extremely loving and caring. She doesn’t even have her own animals, yet her home is set up like a five-star resort for any pet who walks through her door. Gorgeous beds, little houses, toys everywhere, treats ready to go. If a dog or cat could design their dream home, it would look exactly like Anny’s. We’ve used many pet sitters over the years, but Anny is in a different league entirely. Lila actually hesitated to come home, which tells you everything you need to know. If you want your pet loved, spoiled, and treated like family, Anny is the one.”

“This is my 2nd time trusting Diane to watch my son while on vacation and she is so sweet, caring, and reassuring. She sends me a lot of pictures, videos, and correspondence the s tire trip. Kobe loves her and her friendly dog Marley. Book with Diane! Thanks again Diane”

“Exceptional Dog Sitter – Highly Recommended! We had our first experience today leaving my very anxious dog with Aritra, and couldn’t be more grateful for the care and patience he provided. From the moment we arrived, he greeted her with such warmth and understanding. Knowing how nervous she can be in new environments, he allowed me to stay until she felt comfortable, which made a huge difference. His calm and reassuring approach helped her settle in quickly, and it was clear he truly understands dogs and their unique needs. Throughout her stay, he kept me updated, which gave me peace of mind. When i picked her up, she was happy and relaxed—a true testament to the wonderful care she received. If you’re looking for a kind, patient, and knowledgeable dog sitter, we highly recommend Aritra! Already booked for tomorrow and next week!”

“We had such a wonderful experience! Dior felt right at home from the moment she arrived and was so well cared for during her stay. We loved getting updates and could tell she was receiving lots of attention, love, and even some extra treats. Especially because Dior was in heat we were so happy she was comfortable. The thoughtful gift keychain was such a sweet surprise and really showed how much they care about both pets and their owners. We came home to a happy pup and couldn't ask for more. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and attentive to watch their dog!”

“Stephanie is a lifesaver! We have a very anxious non socialized 13 year old terrier. We have struggled for many years to have anyone watch him. We did a trial night with Stephanie and I’m beyond grateful that she even took him on. He is not easy and she was amazing! I would recommend her 100 times over!”

“My trip was very last minute. Had to fly out that day and Grace & Wu took my fur baby cat in. They updated me daily with pictures and texts! My kitty is a very shy one but he slowly adjusted. He was in good hands and I was at ease! Will definitely book again ! 💜”

“Milly was so kind as to take our pup for a last minute request and he had a great time! She was well prepared to handle his separation anxiety and gave him some yummy natural treats as well. We will definitely be booking again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - New Hyde Park
Vee and Steven are the best! After reading their profile we reached out and Vee met us for a meet and greet. We felt comfortable right away and felt they would be a great fit to watch our dog Uno for a week and they exceeded our expectations! She gave us a detailed updates twice a day with pictures and videos and we can tell Uno was well loved in their house. Uno came back as if he never left our watch! We would highly recommend Vee and Steven and look forward to using them again in the future.

Wendy is the best dog sitter. She takes care of our dog, Bobo, in heart. She walks Bobo everyday, buying dog treats and make sure Bobo is nutrition-balanced. She sent many pictures and videos to us, making sure we are well connected with Bobo. I highly recommend Wendy.
From the first meet and greet, we knew that Cynthia would take a great care of our Canela. She sent us updates regularly which made us feel at peace while on vacation. My daughters asked if we can always leave our dog with her whenever we go away. We definitely will. Thank you so much Cynthia.

Lisa took such amazing care of Ruffles while we were away for 3 weeks. She sent daily updates with photos and videos that really put our minds at ease while we were miles away. We will absolutely be using Lisa again for our future needs and highly recommend her for your fur babies!

We had a unique situation that lead us to Eric and he was incredibly accommodating. I forgot my dog's bed and he was able to provide one. He took great care of our shepherd and sent us several photos to show us our dog was doing just fine. Eric is a super nice guy to boot! Would highly recommend!

Grace is a thoughtful sitter. I felt safe to have left my fur buddy with her for a longer stay. During that stay my pet got sick and Grace was fully involved and did everything necessary to get the care it needed. She was also proactively communicating thought the emergency. I’m glad that my pet was in her hands when this happened. I fully recommend her services. Thank you Grace!

Tanu is great! She took good care of our 6 year old Ace for a day. She loves your pet like it’s her own. Ace is picky with his eating habits and spoiled I should say, but she was very concerned when he skipped his meal. She followed all our instructions and sent us pictures of Ace more often than we expected. He was very happy at her place. I would use her services again without any hesitation and would recommend her to anyone who is looking for an excellent sitter for their furry. Thank you so much Tanu for taking care of Ace!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
