“Michelle and her family are amazing dog sitters, I had a 8 night vacation planned and my dog sitter broke her hand 5 days before our vacation. I found Michelle on River and she was able to watch my beagle Gigi. Michelle and her family are amazing people. Five stars, went above and beyond to make mg dog Gigi feel right at home”

“Wendy was amazing! She constantly sent updates about Oreo and was very responsive to my inquiries. I would not hesitate to recommend her and to use her services again.”

“We had great communication with Shirley throughout the entire process. We did a meet and greet before the stay, and she asked thoughtful questions beforehand to really get to know our dog. During the stay, she shared lots of photos and videos, which we truly appreciated. She was also very flexible and accommodating when we had to change our plans due to the snowstorm. Highly recommend!”

“Gloria is amazing. We left our oftentimes nervous pup with Gloria for 4 nights. Gloria made her feel right at home. She provided regular updates and sent pictures daily. We plan on boarding our pup with her in future.”

“Jen did a great job with our beagle Daisy. She was inquisitive regarding Daisy’s needs, schedule, and likes/dislikes. She sent us pictures and updates throughout the time and even got Daisy to give a big smile on one of her pictures. We will definitely use her again.”
“We left our pooch with Alba for seven days! My daughter was so upset. Alba was fantastic. At the meet and greet, we could see that Alba is an experienced dog sitter. She sent us updates and pictures that put my daughter at ease. We enjoyed the whole vacation because we knew everything was fine back home. Alba also took our booking on short notice which helped greatly. I cant thank her enough!!! 100% recommended.”

“Our dogs had the best time staying with Krissy and her family. We got daily updates and pictures from her and could tell that our dogs were loved like they were her own pets. The icing on the cake was the absolutely adorable homemade dog biscuits with notes to each of my dogs, so sweet. We will definitely use Krissy again, she was absolutely wonderful!”

About: What sets me apart is the genuine care and attention I give to every dog I look after. I treat them like my own—with love, patience, and respect for their routines. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, and I’m comfortable with both puppies and senior dogs. I understand that each dog has its own personality and needs, and I take the time to make sure they feel safe and happy in my care. Since I’m not currently a dog owner, I pour all my energy and affection into the dogs I sit for. I also have a fenced yard, which gives dogs a secure place to play and relax. I’m reliable, detail-oriented, and always keep pet parents updated so they can feel confident while they’re away. Pet care is something I genuinely enjoy, and I make time for it on weekends and some weekday evenings. I’m usually available on weekends for boarding and daycare, and with advance notice, I can provide walks or care after 5:00 PM during the week. Since I don’t currently have a dog of my own, spending time with pets through Rover gives me the chance to enjoy their company and provide the attention they deserve. It’s something I look forward to fitting into my weekly routine, and I always plan my schedule carefully to give each dog quality care and attention. When caring for dogs in my home, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and part of the family. I live in a house with a fenced yard, so dogs have a secure space to play and get fresh air. I stick to their usual routines as closely as possible—feeding, walking, playtime, and rest—based on their owner’s instructions. I keep a calm, clean environment and always give plenty of love and attention. For walks and weekend daycare, I focus on making the experience fun and stress-free. I tailor walks to each dog’s energy level and needs, whether it’s a quick potty break or a longer walk for exercise. I also pay close attention to leash safety, weather conditions, and staying in familiar areas unless otherwise requested. Whether in my home or out and about, your dog’s comfort, safety, and happiness are always my top priority.
“Our puppy have stayed with Judy a couple of times, both overnight and day care. We are very happy with the service. Judy is very nice, punctual and accommodating. Last time, our puppy was taking medication, and Judy was very patient and diligent with giving her the medicine. Most importantly, our puppy loves her, and we feel very comfortable leaving her with Judy when we are away.”
“Karina was amazing from beginning to end. I felt a little skeptical about leaving my fur child with anyone unfamiliar. From texts before the drop off, Karina made me feel comfortable. I received texts, pics and videos of my dog continuously throughout the day to see my dog, adjusting to a new person and environment. I could see my bully taking to Karina very easily which gave me peace of mind while away. Karina was very attentive to my fur baby and making sure that she was her priority while under her care. When I picked up my dog the first thing I asked after expressing my appreciation was, if I ever have to leave my dog with anyone again, can I look you up on Rover and she said yes! I highly recommend anyone leaving your fur child with Karina who is attentive and sensitive to your pet adjusting to new people and surroundings. Amazing pet sitter. 5 stars ⭐️”

“My dog was so well cared for and we received pictures and check in’s. Jessica is super responsive. It was very evident the whole family is kind and loves dogs. My dog was clearly treated like gold and came home happy!”

“Britany is amazing! This was our second time leaving Frodo with her, this time for a full week, and she went above and beyond. She sent us daily updates with photos and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind. If she had any concerns, she brought them up right away and was always very transparent. When we dropped Frodo off, we could tell how happy he was to be there - he didn’t even look back at us lol! Britany really knows his personality and quirks now, and it’s clear he feels comfortable and cared for with her. Couldn’t ask for a better sitter!”

“Delmy and her family took wonderful care of my 2 dogs. They were walked every day, played with, and came home clean and happy. We could not be happier with their stay.”

“Woody's 1st time with Grace. He was a little shy at first because he's not used to being with other dogs. He eventually got used to it. He was there for 3-4 days. He was sad leaving her. All in all I think he had a great time with her.”

“Marcelina really rolled out the red carpet for our dog. She is a wonderful, caring person who loved to take our pup to the park, yoga or just a stroll around the neighborhood. Lots of pictures and great communication. I would highly recommend her!”

“Thank you for taking such great care of my big guy! It is always easier leaving knowing he’s in good hands. I appreciated the regular updates and photos. Will be requesting to stay with Nick again in the future.”

“I cannot recommend Rocio enough! She was absolutely amazing with my dog — truly caring, attentive, and professional from start to finish. She provided daily updates that gave me total peace of mind, and it was clear my dog was in the best hands. Rocio’s communication was excellent, and she went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She’s not only a great sitter but also a genuinely kind and passionate dog lover. I’ll definitely be using her again in the future!”

“We had a unique situation that lead us to Eric and he was incredibly accommodating. I forgot my dog's bed and he was able to provide one. He took great care of our shepherd and sent us several photos to show us our dog was doing just fine. Eric is a super nice guy to boot! Would highly recommend!”

I had such a wonderful experience with her watching my dogs! She did an outstanding job and kept me updated throughout the entire stay with regular messages and lots of adorable photos. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing my dogs were happy, safe, and well cared for. She was kind, reliable, and clearly loves animals. I would absolutely recommend her and will definitely use her again! ❤️🐾

Jenny truly is the best of the best! I’ve had horror stories with other sitters but Jenny truly changed my perspective. She treated my cocker spaniel as her own. Sent me multiple updates with pics every single day! I truly appreciated that as an anxious dog mom! She was super flexible, listened to and reassured all of my worries and just went above any beyond! She will always be my go to sitter for my dog! Thanks again Jenny!

Nicolette is the absolute best! We were really nervous to leave our dog Melo with someone new for the first time and we couldn’t have been more happy to have found Nicolette. She took excellent care of her and sent us photos / videos to update us on how she was doing. We would definitely recommend her and book with her in the future!

Kate was outstanding from start to finish. She made us feel comfortable with leaving our dog with her and went above and beyond to take care of him. She had her own space separate from other animals she has and stayed there with our dog the entire time. Kate sent us daily updates and made sure he was safe and well taken care of. We were so relieved to find a genuinely nice, caring person that we would book again. Thanks, Kate!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
