“Mamdouh and his family are amazing! I have used them twice so far and fully trust them with my dog. They send photos and videos daily, which reassures me my dog is having a blast!”

“Wendy watched my cat when over the weekend. She is extremely communicative and flexible. She sent a lot of pictures and updated me while I was away. She listened to my concerns and addressed them as well.”

“Krissy is an awesome pet sitter! She was so sweet and gentle with our two senior dogs. My dogs are both on several types of medications and she administered them several times throughout the day. I felt so comfortable leaving my dogs in her care. She sent me photos of the dogs everyday that we were away on vacation and gave me updates on how they were doing. I would definitely book with her again!”

“Kimi had a good stay with Yvonne. They were also very accommodative when we had to change our pick up time after our flight got delayed. Thank you for taking care of Kimi!”

“My wife and I needed a last minute dog sitter, and we found dilania here on rover. Her response was quick. When we dropped our dogs off she gave updates and took great care of our pups.”

“I can’t say enough good things about V! It’s always hard leaving Bluey behind, but they made it so much easier by sending regular updates and photos. My dog was clearly happy, well-cared for, and relaxed when I got home. Highly recommend!”

“Highly recommend Yaina for dog boarding. We had a very positive experience with the whole process from start to finish. Our dogs came home happy and healthy after boarding for over a week, and we received daily updates and pictures. It was a pleasure dealing with Yaina, and we will absolutely look to board our dogs with her again in the future. I would give more than 5 stars if possible.”

“Margarita and Cristian took wonderful care of my dog, Gracey, while I was away for 10 days abroad. They sent pictures and let me know how she was doing. I provided notes and suggestions about Gracey as she has anxiety and she managed to adjust really well in their environment and with the other dogs that had overlapped with Gracey’s stay. I look forward to when I need to have Gracey stay with them in the future.”

“My dog Nicolo has stayed with Karine and Ryan for a few short stays which always went well. Recently, he stayed for a week and it was such a great experience for him and for me. Nicolo socialized with the other small dogs. Karine and Ryan are such gentle people with great knowledge about dogs. He got his meds, lots of attention and affection. In addition to being kept safe and having his physical needs met, I feel he really benefits mentally from staying there and I am relaxed and not consumed with worry. Karine always kept me updated with texts and pictures and let me know of any issues. I hope to always leave Nicolo with Karine and Ryan when the need arises.”

“We left our dog Egypt with Vanessa and her family for a little under a week and couldn’t have felt more at ease. Vanessa frequently checked in to let us know how Egypt was doing and did all she could to make Egypt feel at home. We would definitely book with her again and recommend Vanessa to anyone looking for a home away from home for their pup.”

“I had booked last minute for an overnight boarding and Juan was very accommodating! My dog has separation anxiety but Juan was able to get him comfortable and settled in. Appreciate how communicative Juan was and great care he took of my dog! 10/10 recommend Juan!”

“Julia was terrific! She and Bailey hit it off right away. Got a bunch of pics with Bailey out for a walk, playing with toys and a restful night sleep. Will use Julia again!”

“Another great vacation for Frodo with Britany - she’s the best! She sent daily photos and videos without me even having to ask, and I never worried about Frodo during his stay. He looked like he was having the best time, and I honestly don’t think he wanted to leave when we picked him up! We can’t wait for Frodo to stay with her again in the future.”

“This was the first time being away from our dog and Nicole did a great job at making him and my family feel at ease! She regularly kept me updated with messages and pictures and took very good care of him. Will definitely use her again!”

“Grace took excellent care of our senior, blind Lab Mix, Dutch. It took Dutch a bit to get used to a new situation and Grace took it in stride and was very caring. Grace provided Dutch with her oral medication daily along with eye drops 2x daily. We recommend Grace and will be checking her availability next time we go away. Thank you Grace.”
“I am very happy with the treatment my dog got. She gave him a lot of love and many photos were sent to me. She texted me often to give me update. Lucky seemed happy.”

“Kristin was an amazing sitter. I can tell Sushi had so much fun and was cared for because he didn’t look disheveled coming home. Thank you, Kristin!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Old Westbury
I was in need of a last minute dog sitter because I was going out of town -- I read Marcelina's profile and felt she would be a good fit, I messaged her and got a reply almost instantly! We did a meet and greet prior to her sitting my 2 dogs, and all I can say is WOW-- she was perfect! Marcelina is warm, loving, intentional and overall a wonderful person. My dogs took a liking to her immediately. I felt no worries leaving town, I knew they were in good hands. During my leave, she updated me with photos and videos of their adventures-- she of course spoiled them with a good time :) I will be using Marcelina in the future. I cannot recommend her enough if you need someone to care for your animals.

Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
