“Kayla and family were wonderful, provided so much play and attention all day and we're very polite and sweet (her children included). My pup is too young for daycare and she put my mind at ease while I was at work.”

“Diana was amazing with my pup, Louis! He had an absolute blast — especially getting to run around outside and play with the other dogs and kids, which is such a treat for him since he doesn’t get that kind of freedom in Manhattan. I could tell he was well cared for and totally in his element. Communication was great, with tons of photos daily, and I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such a loving, fun environment. I’d strongly recommend Diana to anyone looking for a thoughtful and responsible sitter — we’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

“Michelle made us feel comfortable leaving our dogs with her, during our wedding weekend. She sent pictures and updates, and even brought them to take wedding pictures for a few. We will definitely book with her again. ”

“Lisa took such amazing care of Ruffles while we were away for 3 weeks. She sent daily updates with photos and videos that really put our minds at ease while we were miles away. We will absolutely be using Lisa again for our future needs and highly recommend her for your fur babies!”

“Kate was outstanding from start to finish. She made us feel comfortable with leaving our dog with her and went above and beyond to take care of him. She had her own space separate from other animals she has and stayed there with our dog the entire time. Kate sent us daily updates and made sure he was safe and well taken care of. We were so relieved to find a genuinely nice, caring person that we would book again. Thanks, Kate!”

“Yessenia was absolutely lovely to work with. She answered any questions we had as first time Rover customers in order to put us at ease. We could see from the first interaction that she would be kind to our dog, as she immediately got down and gave her hand to the dog to sniff and then pet her. She has a daughter with a sweet and gentle personality, who kindly shared her own blanket with the dog to make the dog feel more comfortable. Yessenia‘s husband was friendly and pleasant as well. Yessenia sent us multiple pictures and updates over the weekend while she watched the dog. Though we brought some supplies, she was also prepared with her own if necessary. Furthermore, since Yesenia had already experienced life with a senior dog, she offered us some suggestions that might help with our pup. Our Rusty had never been cared for by a stranger up to this point. It was hard for us to leave her. That said, we would not only highly recommend Yessenia and her family to other dog owners, we will definitely reach out to Yessenia again if we need someone to board the dog. She even included a lovely note about the experience. Her thoughts were genuine, and it was nice for us to be reminded about the beauty of our dog whom we see every day.”

“We had great communication with Shirley throughout the entire process. We did a meet and greet before the stay, and she asked thoughtful questions beforehand to really get to know our dog. During the stay, she shared lots of photos and videos, which we truly appreciated. She was also very flexible and accommodating when we had to change our plans due to the snowstorm. Highly recommend!”

“Vanessa and her family took amazing care of my dog Timber. Timber is a medium large rescue with a lot of energy and still learning social manners but they handled him super well. We brought him over for play dates with their dog and boarding. Their backyard was perfect to play with him in. They made Timber feel right at home when we left him there for a few nights. They were so knowledgeable and caring. We plan to bring him back for a longer stay.”
“Nan was amazing. She took excellent care of a dog. She was also very friendly and nice and so we felt comfortable, leaving the dog with her. She was also able to walk the dog around and send us pictures. I would definitely recommend her.”

“Ladybug had a great time with Judy. She sent updates with pictures and administered her flea/tick medication. Ladybug is dog reactive and Judy handled this with ease. She was excellent at keeping in communication with us while we were on our trip. Thank you Judy for taking such great care of Ladybug!”

“Sharon and her family were so great! This is the first time We’ve ever left our bulldog with anyone other than family and only the third time we’ve left him overnight. Sharon’s reviews were what grabbed my attention. I reached out and asked if we could set up a meet and greet. She said yes right away (she’s SUPER responsive). We set it up and it went great. She sent me updates and pics all the time we were away and I felt 100% at ease leaving Creasy with her and her awesome family. I would use Sharon again, for sure.”

“Julia was terrific! She and Bailey hit it off right away. Got a bunch of pics with Bailey out for a walk, playing with toys and a restful night sleep. Will use Julia again!”

“We have used June several times now. Our dog, Ginger, is getting on in age, so it is important to us to have someone like June who takes extra care with her. She is wonderful with Ginger and we are glad we found her!”

About: Hi! I'm really excited about the prospect of sitting for or walking your dog. I have a 6 year old goldendoodle who is the light of my life! I understand first hand the care and love your pup needs and deserves. Will provide updates and photos to keep you at ease while you’re away! I work from home on Mondays and Fridays, and am in the office Tuesday through Thursday. I’ll have the most availability on the remote days but can be available in the evenings on the others. Can’t wait to meet your pup! Lots of exercise, sniffs, pets and cuddles. My dog Marty is so sweet and friendly with all dogs of any age and breed. He has a soft spot for puppies!
“Britany was wonderful with Walter. She kept us informed of how he was doing the whole time he was with her. We felt totally comfortable leaving our fur baby with her and will definitely leave him with her again!”

“Tanu is great! She took good care of our 6 year old Ace for a day. She loves your pet like it’s her own. Ace is picky with his eating habits and spoiled I should say, but she was very concerned when he skipped his meal. She followed all our instructions and sent us pictures of Ace more often than we expected. He was very happy at her place. I would use her services again without any hesitation and would recommend her to anyone who is looking for an excellent sitter for their furry. Thank you so much Tanu for taking care of Ace!”

“My pug Charlie had another wonderful time with Abbie and Peachy. Charlie feels really safe with Abbie even though she is a little anxious and Peachy is a great friend that helps Charlie to stay active and socialized especially in this cold weather. Outstanding hosts!”

“Michele was absolutely amazing with my dog! From the start, she was communicative, attentive, and genuinely caring. She kept me updated the entire time with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Her kids were completely in love with Arepa, and it was clear he felt comfortable, happy, and so well cared for. Michele truly treated him like her own. I would 100% trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and loving sitter. Thank you so much, Michele!”

Dilania went above and beyond. I had a last minute appointment and with only 3 day notice Dilania was able to accommodate me. Her care for my 1 year old Yorkie who has terrible separation anxiety was incredible. Dilania kept me informed and sent me videos of Cooper. When I picked Cooper up the next day he did not want to leave. Dilania has 2 dogs that loved to play with Cooper and Cooper loved every minute of it. I would highly recommend Dilania to anyone and I will definitely be using her again!

Carina took good care of Sadie. We loved getting the regular photo and video updates. Seeing Sadie is safe and happy especially over the July 4th weekend with lots of fireworks set our minds at ease. Carina was attentive with Sadie’s walks and routine toothbrushing. We also appreciate her fenced backyard and double-door entry.
I have nothing but positive things to say about Nia. From the first contact, she was kind and professional. We did a meet and greet before our trip and it was instantly obvious that this was the right person to care for our girl while we were away. We had some uncomfortable past experiences when leaving our dog at a facility and vowed never to do it again. So we tried Rover for the first time, and our experience was nothing short of amazing. I truly believe Nia has a special gift like a dog whisperer. Even after the meet and greet our dog was so calm. Nia is a special person and every one of us felt it. She eased our anxiety instantly. I never had to ask how my pup was because Nia updated before I even got a chance to ask on the daily. Dottie has a new best friend and I am forever thankful. This was the first vacation in 5 years I felt at peace knowing my dog was safe and happy. Without a doubt, I will be reaching out to Nia on Rover, for any future vacations. Thank you Nia from the bottom of our hearts!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
