“I simply love Isabella she took excellent care for my dog' Fluff. He absolutely loves her. She gave him his insulin and he allowed her to do so. Isabella definitely has a repeat customer Mr Fluff???”

“What a wonderful experience for Wally and me with Caroline watching him! He did not want to come home! She is a loving dog mom herself and sent me lots of photos while he stayed with her – he was smiling in all of them. Cannot recommend Caroline highly enough.”
“Nicholas did a fantastic job watching Duke during boarding. He kept us well in the loop with tons of photos. Duke seemed like he was having such a great time, I wondered if he even wanted to come home! We will certainly be using Nicholas again in the future!”

“He did an excellent job watching my dogs for a couple of days! He was very responsive, easy to communicate with, and kept me updated, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. My dogs were well cared for, and I could tell they were in good hands. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy pet sitter, and I’d be happy to book with him again!”

“Jennifer did such a great job taking care of our little Leia during our wedding weekend! Leia felt at home and didn't want to leave her house when we came by to pick her up! Highly recommend Jennifer if you're looking for a caring and attentive sitter for your pup.”

“My dog Lucy was so well taken care of. Lorraine and her husband and girls were wonderful sitters. They have a beautiful fenced in yard for her to run around in. Lucy seemed very comfortable there. Lorraine was very accommodating, I can't say enough good things about the care she gives her visitors. Great experience! Thanks Lorraine and family!”

“Kayla and family were wonderful, provided so much play and attention all day and we're very polite and sweet (her children included). My pup is too young for daycare and she put my mind at ease while I was at work.”

“Chris watched my dog who has separation anxiety for a couple days. I was so nervous (for all of them) to leave my anxious guy with someone he didn't know especially during a thunderstorm, etc... but everyone made it though and I'm grateful he had another dog he could play with, etc... Thanks Chris and Co.”

“I had a great experience with Tina! She took the time to meet Summer on short notice before taking care of her. She sent pictures and updates twice a day and I could tell Summer had a great time. She also has a fenced backyard where Summer enjoyed playing fetch and getting her zoomies out. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter.”

“Jackie was so amazing with my 6 month old bernadoodle! She came and met him first and provided me with updates every day while he was there. Her and her family were so great with him. Your dogs will be in great hands with Jackie!”

“Joanna is amazing! Her love for your furry friend shows from the moment you meet her. She took care of Persia as if she were her own pup. Very communicative and sent pictures every day so we were never worried. Thank you again Joanna!”

With this experience, your furry friend is in trusted, capable hands. Whether they need active playtime, cozy cuddles, or a calm presence, I always tailor my care to fit their individual needs. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine—I plan my days around the needs of the pets I care for. I make sure each pet gets the attention and consistency they deserve. I’m flexible with scheduling and committed to being reliable, so you can count on me to be there when your pet needs care the most. I am fully remote, so an always home with these guys. I have a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor play. If you're comfortable, my friendly dog would love to play with yours—but only with your okay. If not, no worries—he knows the routine and will happily stay separate.
“Yessenia was absolutely lovely to work with. She answered any questions we had as first time Rover customers in order to put us at ease. We could see from the first interaction that she would be kind to our dog, as she immediately got down and gave her hand to the dog to sniff and then pet her. She has a daughter with a sweet and gentle personality, who kindly shared her own blanket with the dog to make the dog feel more comfortable. Yessenia‘s husband was friendly and pleasant as well. Yessenia sent us multiple pictures and updates over the weekend while she watched the dog. Though we brought some supplies, she was also prepared with her own if necessary. Furthermore, since Yesenia had already experienced life with a senior dog, she offered us some suggestions that might help with our pup. Our Rusty had never been cared for by a stranger up to this point. It was hard for us to leave her. That said, we would not only highly recommend Yessenia and her family to other dog owners, we will definitely reach out to Yessenia again if we need someone to board the dog. She even included a lovely note about the experience. Her thoughts were genuine, and it was nice for us to be reminded about the beauty of our dog whom we see every day.”

“Brenda was absolutely amazing with my dog! From the moment I dropped her off, I felt completely at ease. She constantly kept me updated with messages, pictures, and videos, which meant so much and really helped me relax while I was away. It was so clear that my dog was being well cared for. Brenda was always taking her on walks and spending time playing with her. When I picked her up, of course my baby missed me, but I could truly tell she had formed such a loving bond with Brenda. It was obvious that my dog adored her, and that Brenda genuinely loved her right back. Finding someone you trust with your dog isn’t easy, but Brenda exceeded every expectation. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, attentive, and loving sitter!”

“Michelle made us feel comfortable leaving our dogs with her, during our wedding weekend. She sent pictures and updates, and even brought them to take wedding pictures for a few. We will definitely book with her again. ”

“We had great communication with Shirley throughout the entire process. We did a meet and greet before the stay, and she asked thoughtful questions beforehand to really get to know our dog. During the stay, she shared lots of photos and videos, which we truly appreciated. She was also very flexible and accommodating when we had to change our plans due to the snowstorm. Highly recommend!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
