About: Hi! I'm really excited about the prospect of sitting for or walking your dog. I have a 6 year old goldendoodle who is the light of my life! I understand first hand the care and love your pup needs and deserves. Will provide updates and photos to keep you at ease while you’re away! I work from home on Mondays and Fridays, and am in the office Tuesday through Thursday. I’ll have the most availability on the remote days but can be available in the evenings on the others. Can’t wait to meet your pup! Lots of exercise, sniffs, pets and cuddles. My dog Marty is so sweet and friendly with all dogs of any age and breed. He has a soft spot for puppies!
“Lesley was amazing with Winston. Winston is an only child. When he met Lesley, Karen and their 2 dogs (Dyson & Rory), Winston was scared. We stayed for almost 1 hr for meet and greet. Then, I took Winston back 2 more times for meet and greet so that Winston could be comfortable with Dyson & Rory. Needless to say, Winston bonded with both dogs, especially Dyson. Lesley and Karen were very accommodating, kind and attentive to Winston. Karen is home all the time. Winston is never alone. Their house and enclosed back yard is dog heaven. Everything is dog friendly. In fact, when Winston stayed with them, he did not like his dog food that he had been eating all his life, Karen supplemented his food by cooking for him. Lesley and Karen are dog lovers and will go above and beyond for Winston. I got daily photos and video of him. Winston loves staying with Lesley and Karen. He was mopping around the house for a couple of days when we got back home because he missed his doggy friends. I highly recommend Lesley and Karen. Winston will definitely be back!!!!”

“I was happy with Thomasina watch my dog Scout. She was amazing and kept me updated and sent many pictures. I will definitely be using her again. It was nice to have someone I trusted to watch my dog.”

“Joanne and her family where absolutely perfect to care for Carmelo. He seemed to adjust so well into there family and made it comfortable for me to take a peaceful vacation without the worry of how Carmelo was doing. I would recommend using Joanne as I will again.”

“From the moment we met Anna, we knew she was a good fit! She made booking the meet and greet, drop off and pick up super easy. Scout liked Anna’s sweet disposition and I liked that she kept us updated! Scout came home happy and healthy. We would highly recommend Anna to anyone in need of a pet sitter!”

“Chiclet could not have been in better hands. Dawn took such good care of her and eased any concerns I had by providing updates and pictures. Very accommodating and seems to really be a dog-lover. Would give 10 stars if I could. Excellent sitter. Thank you, Dawn.”

“It was so nice to knowing my dog was in good hands, surrounded by lots of love, while I was out of the country vacationing. I was worried my Scooby would miss me, meanwhile he had a BLAST playing and eating good, doesn’t look like he gave me a second thought!!! He played with friends 🥹 and I love that I found the best sitter on here. My dog Scooby and I will absolutely be returning clients!!!”

“My wife and I needed a last minute dog sitter, and we found dilania here on rover. Her response was quick. When we dropped our dogs off she gave updates and took great care of our pups.”

“Couldn't be more thrilled ...our 1 year old Shih Tzu who is still learning and is an overactive puppy can be a bit much to watch all day; so we were very concerned about leaving her with strangers overnight. However Theresa was fantastic not only did she allow us to bring all Peanut's stuff (pack and play crib/playpen and tons of toys, pillow, blanket, doggy dishes etc.) but she understood the fact that because this was all new to our young dog she especially took pains to know what Peanut's needs were. At first Peanut did not even want to enter the home and shied away from Theresa but Theresa took the time to win over Peanut and by the time we left her she was playing with her toys. Theresa sent us pictures of Peanut playing and having fun. We were especially happy knowing Theresa only takes one dog at a time in her home because our dog is small and young and doesn't know how to socialize with other pets (our vet wouldn't allow this until all her shots were completed) and Peanut is from a home with only adults and no small children we worried that other sitters who take in more than one dog or had their own pet might become a problem. However Theresa's policy of only one dog at a time who also doesn't have her own pet, and doesn't have numerous children which might be a concern for pets unused to active kids. Theresa's dog sitting arrangement was an ideal win win for us and Peanut. She will become our dogs sitter from now on as Peanut loved her and her family and now we can relax whenever we need to go out of town or just need a sitter for a day. Thank you Theresa and family you were the best!”

“From the moment Trinity asked questions about Maurice and his care, I could sense she would be an excellent choice. Was i ever right! She was very responsive when i asked how he was doing by sending pictures and updates. Maurice is very shy, so when she sent a video of petting him his first day there, I knew he was very comfortable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Thank you so much for taking such great care of Maurice!!!”

“I’d give 100 stars if I could. I’d never used Rover.com before and we were in a last minute bind with our new puppy, scheduled to go on vacation, when our sitter fell through. Samantha is exactly who you want to care for your pet. She’s so knowledgeable, loving, and kind with a true passion for caring for animals. She was so great with communication, sending us updates, pics, and videos and following our pup’s routine. I’m so at ease to know we now have someone like Samantha in our life to help us with our guy! She was truly heaven sent. Highly recommend. Thank you Sam!”

“Jamie was amazing! She took care of my 6 month old puppy for six days. She checked in every day and sent me pictures/videos so I knew my boy was safe and well taken care of. I would highly recommend Jamie. It's a beautiful thing to be able to enjoy my time away knowing my dog is in good hands.”

“Dan and his wife Denise are truly a gift to all dog owners! They go above and beyond to ensure your dog has the best possible experience. During the stay I received video, pictures and daily updates of my dog. It really put my mind at ease so i could enjoy my vacation. They are a pleasure to work with and your dog will feel at "home" while in their care. You can't ask for anything more! I highly recommend without hesitation!!”

“Amber was the best sitter for our furbaby, Marla. She treated her like her own and took care of her while we were away. Marla enjoyed her vacation at Amber’s place. We will definitely book Amber’s service again.”

“Trisha was great, she kept us in the loop with pictures and texts the whole evening. It was the first time we left our dog Jax who’s 1-1/2 old boxer with tons of energy. Thank you Trisha and we will definitely leave Jax with again and again.”

“We are thrilled with our experience with John! This was our first time using this site, and he was amazing with our Benny. He kept us updated with pictures and videos, which made us feel at ease. Having his dog Dallas around was a definitely bonus. Thank you, John! We would love to work with you again and highly recommend you!”

“We had such a wonderful experience! Dior felt right at home from the moment she arrived and was so well cared for during her stay. We loved getting updates and could tell she was receiving lots of attention, love, and even some extra treats. Especially because Dior was in heat we were so happy she was comfortable. The thoughtful gift keychain was such a sweet surprise and really showed how much they care about both pets and their owners. We came home to a happy pup and couldn't ask for more. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and attentive to watch their dog!”

Sara is a wonderful dog sitter, and I feel so lucky to have her taking care of Cosmo. She's incredibly thoughtful, caring, and attentive with him, and her whole family is amazing. Cosmo always has the best time with them! Sara is also extremely reliable and flexible, making everything so easy and stress-free for me. I couldn't recommend her more highly

What a wonderful experience for Wally and me with Caroline watching him! He did not want to come home! She is a loving dog mom herself and sent me lots of photos while he stayed with her – he was smiling in all of them. Cannot recommend Caroline highly enough.
Above and beyond! Our boys have alot of differing special needs. Annabelle understood all of our needs and gave us every confidence our boys were going to be safe and loved. We loved the photo updates. They came home tired and not over fed. We will definitely book again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
