“She was so nice, reliable, responsive, and my dogs were well taken care of. They seemed comfortable and happy when I picked them up. I will be using her again for any of my future pet sitting needs. Definitely recommend!”

“Pamela is amazing! Our active 6-month-old lab Rosie stayed with Pamela for the week. It was our first time leaving Rosie and Pamela put Rosie and us totally at ease. She took such good care of Rosie and made her feel at home with lots of tlc. Beyond that, she made us totally comfortable with plenty of updates and pictures of Rosie's week at camp.”

“Michelle was wonderful! Our dog did great with her and her family while we were away. We got lots of photos and updates. Will definitely use again for our next trip away”

About: I have had dogs since I was a baby. I have fostered dogs for NJ Boxer rescue. We lost our 90lb Pit Bull last year. I don’t want to commit to another dog yet. But I have the love to take in any puppy, middle age and of course the older babies. If they need a loving place that’s not a cold kennel, I will provide that. I work from home. Dogs can run around the kitchen and living room. When I take a break from work I like to bring them into the yard. There is plenty of space to run but sometimes the little ones like to sit on my lap and enjoy the sun. Dogs will always find a sunny spot or a shaded spot in our living room to take naps. There are plenty of toys to play with. We clean any toys after each visit in the washing machine.
“Eliana was wonderful with our dog! Frankie was with them for 8 nights and it couldn’t have been better! They have a terrific and large fenced backyard with a big patio where Frankie loved to hang out, play and sleep in the sun. She took her out on very frequent walks and sent us pictures of Frankie’s activities every day. We would definitely recommend her, as well as use her again in the future!”

“Sandy was wonderful. This was my very first time using Rover and a sitter outside of my family or friends and couldn’t have gone better. Looking forward to using Sandy again! Thank you! :)”

“Iris w/her husband took care of my two pups Mia & Milo the last 5 days. They took such great care of them. Milo still a puppy at 13 months & Mia a 10.5. They handled them both with such care. With special instructions for Mia’s medicine to my hyper playful puppy seeking attention often. Iris sent pictures & videos showing me how happy & content they were! They’ll be back with Iris in just a few short days again! I’m so happy that I feel 💯 at ease knowing they’re in great hands!! Highly recommend Iris taking care of your fur babies too.”

“Karishma did an excellent job taking care of our puppy. This was the first time we had left our dog alone overnight, and Karishma put us at ease with her demeanor and was great about sending photos, videos and texts about how she was doing. When I came to pick her up, she had everything packed up for us and ready to go.”

“They were great! Lincoln met with them a few days before the stay and was immediately comfortable. There house was very clean and the enclosed backyard was very spacious leaving a lot of room for the dogs to play and secure enough to prevent them from getting out. They sent video and pictures everyday. I would definitely leave my dog with them again in the future.”

I like combining enthusiastic play with disciplined training techniques. Whether your furry friend is a playful pup needing playbite training and endless games of fetch, or a cherished senior who thrives on gentle care, medication reminders, and comforting companionship, I really try to provide a safe, loving, and happy environment. My experience includes puppy socialization and specialized senior dog care, ensuring every dog in my charge receives the individual attention and expert care they deserve, making their time with me feel just like your home. With every pet is different, I like to converse with the owner about the character of the dog and habits as well as any other important health information that I should keep in mind before sitting, and if it is in your home, I’m very well mannered and have respect for not just the home but pups safety too

“Heeyoung was wonderful with Kaia. She kept us updated on how Kaia was doing especially when she was not feeling well for a day during her stay and did whatever she could to make her comfortable. I will definitely be booking with her next time we go away.”

“Troy was an absolute godsend. We had a last minute 5 day trip come up and I was nervous handing off our Newfoundland to someone new, especially on short notice, but Troy put me at ease from the first message. He asked all the right questions upfront, was flexible with our chaotic schedule, and clearly knows how to handle a big, gentle giant breed. He sent photos and updates without me even having to ask, and I could tell our dog was genuinely comfortable and happy with him the whole time. We came home to a relaxed, well loved pup and zero stress on our end. Troy is reliable, communicative, and just a genuinely good person to trust with your dog. Can’t recommend him enough, we’ll absolutely be booking him again.”

“My dog loved his stay at Theresa’s house and I was reassured with multiple picture updates of how my dog was doing! Would recommend and am booking again in the future !”

“Sherlock's enjoyed his stay! Glad he got along well with Oakley and Archer right off the bat. Kerri was so kind and was awesome with providing with pictures and updates every day.”

“Isabella was absolutely wonderful and kept my mind at ease while I was on vacation by sending pictures and videos of Piper having a blast! I was nervous about leaving my baby girl but when I met Isabella I knew she was perfect to watch her and she instantly had me trusting her and I was right. I highly recommend her and have already rebooked her for another upcoming trip.”

I had an amazing experience with Karishma. Leaving my pup is never easy but she made the entire process stress free, was so kind, caring and kept me updated by sending videos every hour, which gave me so much peace of mind. My puppy looked happy, comfortable, and well cared for the whole time. Her home was clean, safe, and a great environment for dogs. I truly appreciated the love and attention she gave him and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter. I will definitely book with her again!

Brenda was simply fantastic. We’re so lucky we found her. She took such wonderful care of our Bud. You can tell our pup was very happy with her and her dog Nilo which became fast friends almost immediately. Brenda was always letting us know how our pup was doing by sending pictures/videos and daily updates. We can tell he was a very happy dog when we picked him up in the end. We’re so happy with our decision to book with her and will be booking her again in the future. Thanks again Brenda.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
