“Yaina is so thoughtful and caring we will trust her with our pup anytime! She gave frequent updates and cared for our dog like her own. We cannot thank her enough for making the first time we left our dog for vacation absolutely stress free. Would and will recommend her to anyone.”

“Karishma was terrific with Gracie. She sent us lots of pictures and videos, and she went out of her way to make Gracie feel comfortable. (She even cooked a special dinner for her.). And when we told her it was Gracie’s birthday, she went to the pet store and bought her a birthday cookie! I highly recommend using Karishma to care for your pup!”

“Sandy is kind, trusting , and provided the best care for our French bulldog. She sent pictures and messages daily. I will be using Sandy every time I go away. I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing my dog was in good care. I would highly recommend her and she deserves 5+ stars.”

“Dan & Denise were great with my dog, Fred. I could see that he was happy for the entire weekend at their house. It really was like his own vacation! They were nice enough to send me pictures and updates of my dog while I was away which definitely alleviated any concerns I had. Fred had a great time in a safe environment with other friendly dogs! They were also accommodating enough to do a meet-n-greet before I booked my dog's stay. I would not hesitate for a second to ask Dan & Denise to watch Fred again!”

“Amber was the best sitter for our furbaby, Marla. She treated her like her own and took care of her while we were away. Marla enjoyed her vacation at Amber’s place. We will definitely book Amber’s service again.”

“My puppies were so happy to stay with Elaina, and her family. I have a senior dog and a great dane puppy. They were right at home from the initial meet n greet. As soon a I let them off the leash to see if they'd be comfortable, they were doing zoomies in their super big fenced in yard. Elaina's family were all friendly, and communicative throughout the entire stay. I hope Elaina will always available every time I need a sitter because her and her family are my go to's. Highly recommend”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. They kept my dog at their home for 2 days, sent updates and pictures, and were kind and attentive. It was clear my dog was happy and well taken care of. I’m very grateful and would absolutely book with them again.”

“Jennifer was excellent from start to finish. Her replies were quick and friendly and she was flexible with pick-up and drop-off. Upon meeting her I knew Toby was in good hands and could see that her home and yard was safe. She sent a pic of Toby before we asked and Toby was clearly having a good stay. He spent 13 days with Jennifer and clearly got plenty of exercise as he came back in better shape. We would definitely use Jennifer again and recommend her for your fur baby needs!!”

“Great stay! Judging from plenty of photos and videos sent by Leanora, our Pie had a good time and was taken care of. Will return! Also a big thank you for the professional quality photos.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs of all breeds and sizes since I was 16. Friends, neighbors, and family have always trusted me to walk, feed, bathe, and love on their pets like they’re my own. Whether it’s playful puppies, energetic adults, or gentle seniors, I’m patient, attentive, and truly enjoy keeping pets happy and safe. I’d love to give your furry friend the same care and affection! I run my own social media marketing agency from home, so your pups will never be left alone for long stretches. I’m around throughout the day to give them playtime, potty breaks, and all the love they need. I’m available for boarding everyday but Tuesday’s and walks or drop-ins on weekdays after 2pm. I have a secure fenced yard and one friendly puppy who love making new pals and is crate trained. Your fur baby will get plenty of exercise, safe outdoor time, and supervised play. I can also crate them if needed. I treat every pet like my own, keeping them happy, comfy, and safe.

“Pamela took great care of our two pups while we were away for 5 days. She is thorough in ensuring all dogs in the camp are comfortable together, and assessed each dog’s needs. Sends lots of pics and updates throughout the stay. Our pups were happy and tired! Would definitely book again.”

“I am thrilled that I found such a caring and patient dog lover to care for my 2 babies/ dogs! Jodie was professional , sent me pics & videos everyday and has a true passion for animals ?”

“Couldn't be more thrilled ...our 1 year old Shih Tzu who is still learning and is an overactive puppy can be a bit much to watch all day; so we were very concerned about leaving her with strangers overnight. However Theresa was fantastic not only did she allow us to bring all Peanut's stuff (pack and play crib/playpen and tons of toys, pillow, blanket, doggy dishes etc.) but she understood the fact that because this was all new to our young dog she especially took pains to know what Peanut's needs were. At first Peanut did not even want to enter the home and shied away from Theresa but Theresa took the time to win over Peanut and by the time we left her she was playing with her toys. Theresa sent us pictures of Peanut playing and having fun. We were especially happy knowing Theresa only takes one dog at a time in her home because our dog is small and young and doesn't know how to socialize with other pets (our vet wouldn't allow this until all her shots were completed) and Peanut is from a home with only adults and no small children we worried that other sitters who take in more than one dog or had their own pet might become a problem. However Theresa's policy of only one dog at a time who also doesn't have her own pet, and doesn't have numerous children which might be a concern for pets unused to active kids. Theresa's dog sitting arrangement was an ideal win win for us and Peanut. She will become our dogs sitter from now on as Peanut loved her and her family and now we can relax whenever we need to go out of town or just need a sitter for a day. Thank you Theresa and family you were the best!”

“I cannot say enough good things about the care Freedom gave to my senior dog, Chunky. He’s an older dog with some anxiety issues, and Freedom handled him with so much patience, kindness, and calm energy. They went above and beyond. They took him to the dog park not once but twice, made homemade treats, and even gifted him a sweet new bandana. When I came home, I could tell Chunky had been genuinely happy and well cared for. It’s hard to find someone you trust with your pet, but I feel completely at ease leaving Chunky with Freedom anytime. I’m so thankful we found them, and I’ll absolutely be booking again.”

“We had a great experience with Cody! He took care of our puppy for a few days and did an excellent job. He made sure our pup got his medication on time, and we really appreciated the regular updates and photos—especially the ones after meals and of him playing with other dogs. Cody has a great space with plenty of room for the dogs to run and play outside. Highly recommend him!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Wyandanch
I had an amazing experience with Karishma. Leaving my pup is never easy but she made the entire process stress free, was so kind, caring and kept me updated by sending videos every hour, which gave me so much peace of mind. My puppy looked happy, comfortable, and well cared for the whole time. Her home was clean, safe, and a great environment for dogs. I truly appreciated the love and attention she gave him and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter. I will definitely book with her again!

Brenda was simply fantastic. We’re so lucky we found her. She took such wonderful care of our Bud. You can tell our pup was very happy with her and her dog Nilo which became fast friends almost immediately. Brenda was always letting us know how our pup was doing by sending pictures/videos and daily updates. We can tell he was a very happy dog when we picked him up in the end. We’re so happy with our decision to book with her and will be booking her again in the future. Thanks again Brenda.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
