“Sara is a wonderful dog sitter, and I feel so lucky to have her taking care of Cosmo. She's incredibly thoughtful, caring, and attentive with him, and her whole family is amazing. Cosmo always has the best time with them! Sara is also extremely reliable and flexible, making everything so easy and stress-free for me. I couldn't recommend her more highly”

“Jennifer did such a great job taking care of our little Leia during our wedding weekend! Leia felt at home and didn't want to leave her house when we came by to pick her up! Highly recommend Jennifer if you're looking for a caring and attentive sitter for your pup.”

About: I’ve been a dog mom to a puggle and beagle for over 20 years. With that, I have experience with high energy and sneaky personalities! As both babies entered their senior years, I was responsible in caring for their medical needs. My sweet daughter, Ruby (the beagle in picture), recently crossed over the rainbow bridge and my home and soul has not been the same. I am not ready to fill the void with my own fur baby as of yet, but ready to share my love to others. I work remotely as a social worker 5 days a week, so your baby would have plenty of attention. I have my own car and can drive for any emergencies that may arise. Please note that I will respond to messages that are received between 9AM-10PM. I make every effort to respond within 30 minutes. However, if you do not hear from me immediately, please allow me the time to reply as I will never ignore a message. I work remotely from home, so I am flexible with caring for your fur baby in my home. With walks, I am available in the afternoon and evenings with advance notice. Important 📝: Upon booking, I will ask for a meet and greet at a neutral spot. This can be at a dog friendly cafe, a park, and/or the front and then backyard at my home to reduce any stress. For privacy and safety reasons, there will be a limited (only view certain areas) in-home tour until the booking has been finalized. I have a fenced yard if your fur baby likes to run around off leash. I would also take them on walks and/or play with them according to preferences. I have no children or other fur babies in the home but if your baby is open to children, I have two nieces and a nephew who loves dogs that are willing to share their affection!
“We are so comfortable leaving our fur baby with Pam. She truly puts our mind at ease when we go away. Mugsy runs into Pam’s house when we arrive because he loves it so much! It’s his own little vacation!!”

“Our puppy have stayed with Judy a couple of times, both overnight and day care. We are very happy with the service. Judy is very nice, punctual and accommodating. Last time, our puppy was taking medication, and Judy was very patient and diligent with giving her the medicine. Most importantly, our puppy loves her, and we feel very comfortable leaving her with Judy when we are away.”
“We could not be happier with the care Toby received from Thu and her family! This was our first time leaving him with an in home sitter and we are thankful for such a great experience. We received updates and photos which put our minds at ease and Toby was so happy to have Pi and Jinx to play with! I can tell he already misses his new friends!”

“We are thrilled with our experience with John! This was our first time using this site, and he was amazing with our Benny. He kept us updated with pictures and videos, which made us feel at ease. Having his dog Dallas around was a definitely bonus. Thank you, John! We would love to work with you again and highly recommend you!”

“Michelle and her family were terrific with my 5 year old beagle. Louka was very well cared for and was very content when I picked him up. I received photos and updates daily. I would definitely use Michelle again and certainly recommend her to anyone!”

“Kona is only 6 month old, and it was her first time away from us. She stayed for a week. Gloria took great care of her. I was updated with pictures daily which put my mind at ease. I will definitely use Gloria again when we are traveling. She was communicating well and responding to messages right away.”

“We went to meet Jodie, and her dog, Charlie, a few days before our trip. Bowie instantly felt at home and was entirely happy playing with Charlie. While we were away, Jodie sent daily pictures of our happy puppy and kept us informed of his antics! He had so much fun and can't wait to go back when we go on vacation again! Thank you Jodie!”

“Chris watched my dog who has separation anxiety for a couple days. I was so nervous (for all of them) to leave my anxious guy with someone he didn't know especially during a thunderstorm, etc... but everyone made it though and I'm grateful he had another dog he could play with, etc... Thanks Chris and Co.”

“Our cat Journey had a delightful time at Joanne’s for a long weekend. We were impressed with the clear communication, lovely home environment, and delightful family that took such great care of him. We highly recommend Joanne and will not hesitate to use her again when were visiting family in the area.”

“Troy was amazing with my dog! He continually sent me pictures and updates. From the looks of it, my pup had an absolute blast. He was treated with so much care and attention and even made a bunch of new doggy friends. I could tell he felt right at home. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Experience with Matt & Kristina! Matt & Kristina were absolutely amazing from start to finish! From our very first meet-and-greet, they took the time to get to know Rocky and make sure he would be a good fit for their family and their two beautiful dogs. Matt showed us their yard and explained where Rocky would be safe to run around and play. He gave us a full rundown of everything and patiently answered all of our questions, which immediately made us feel comfortable and confident leaving Rocky with them. We ended up booking a full week! Throughout Rocky’s stay, we received regular updates, pictures, videos, and text messages, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was so wonderful to see how happy and comfortable Rocky was. He got along great with their family dogs and even their super-cute daughter! You can truly tell that Matt & Kristina genuinely care about the dogs in their care and treat them like family. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We highly recommend Matt & Kristina and will definitely be booking with them again in the future, especially when we need to travel out of the country. Rocky had an amazing time, and we felt completely comfortable knowing he was in such great hands! 🐾❤️ The Arjoon Family 🫶🏻 Breed: Pomsky 😂 more the size of Husky

Sarah abs her family were amazing. She kept us up to date with texts, photos and videos every day. She paid special attention to every detail about our pups and gave us some excellent tips on modifying certain behaviors. We would definitely recommend her without hesitation.
Charlotte was absolutely amazing with our girl Lexi!! Not only did she make us feel so relieved and secure the entirety of our trip, but Lexi eventually opened up to her which is something so huge for her. We were very very anxious about trying a sitter again considering Lexi had a terrible experience with a past sitter, which has caused mistrust towards strangers. It took some time and warming up to do but eventually Lexi caved in! Charlotte sent so many pictures and updates throughout the day which we absolutely loved. She is very sweet, patient, understanding with Lexi’s situation, and just overall an awesome sitter. Lexi will definitely be coming back!!

Trevor and Sabrina did an absolutely amazing job with my dog, Clyde. I received photos, communication was seamless, and due to my travels being delayed was able to have my dog spend some extra time there with no hesitation. Overall the experience was amazing and will definitely be returning to them in the future.

Cindy did great with Candy! Candy is definitely spoiled and needy most days but Cindy was able to meet all her needs and keep her content and resting while we were away on vacation. We enjoyed receiving little videos of her everyday and We will definitely use Cindy again in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
