“This was peanuts second time staying with Judy. She’s so sweet and caring. I feel so comfortable and worry free knowing peanut is in good hands. Judy sends me pics to reassure he is fine and having a good time. I highly recommend her for your furry babies.”

About: Have had dogs my whole life. I am very patient and kind to dogs. My wife and I have a fenced yard. Our last dog was 18 years old and we loved her to the end. I’m currently working 4 days a week at home so have plenty of time to play with the dog, feed the dog or let the dog outside to play. I can also walk the dog a few times throughout the day as needed. I have a fenced yard and work from home so can easily watch your dog in a safe environment and will be able to give your pet the attention it deserves.
“Kierra went above and beyond to make us feel safe leaving a hope alone with a Rover for the first time. She communicated effectively during every visit, took excellent photos, and took time to really provide Hope with the care and love we wanted. She played and sang to Hope, as well as kept her food and water clean and full. We told her she didn’t need to do the litter every day, but she did anyway. Kierra was respectful of the apartment complex and timely with returning our key. Heart of gold and a friend of animals indeed. She even helped us with extending booking (when we messed up 5 times), We couldn’t have had a better experience or human to take care of Hope (who is a rescue cat but had no issues warming up to kierra)”

About: Hi there! I have spent many years of my life taking care of animals personally and professionally. I have been volunteering in animal shelters for 7 years, I work with 3 animal organizations helping animals get adopted and fostered, fostering many of them myself. I have had dogs ranging from 5lbs to 75+ Lbs. I also have had numerous cats throughout my life and understand the many personality and needs they have. I have a very flexible schedule professionally and would love to spend more of my free time being around animals I have a very flexible work schedule in which I schedule for myself weekly, giving me a lot of extra time daily as well as the ability to schedule and adjust around bookings. I have fostered both dogs and cats through the years, and currently have one cat now. I keep my home very clean and give my fur baby the most attention and love I can. I truly believe pets are part of the family
“Rachel Rachel was absolutely wonderful with Nilo. This was our first time using her services after our regular sitter had an unexpected emergency, and she was kind enough to meet with us right away. Nilo can be a little challenging at times, so I made sure to explain his personality, behaviors, and needs. Rachel was incredibly patient, understanding, and caring from the very beginning. She took the time to make Nilo feel comfortable, took him on several walks, and it was clear that he felt safe and relaxed in her home. It means so much to find someone who genuinely cares for your pet, and Rachel did exactly that. We felt at ease knowing Nilo was in such good hands. We are so grateful for her help and would not hesitate to book with her again. Thank you, Rachel, for taking such great care of our Nilo! ❤️ We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter.”

“Nachay is a super reliable and experienced dog sitter. Her house is set up to handle all dogs of different demeanors and sizes. Our dog was a bit fearful of other dogs when we first got her and spending time at Nachay’s was a fantastic way to get some positive socialization.”

“Dilania is absolutely wonderful! She took care of our dog as if he were her own. Our pup was instantly comfortable and at home with her and she took excellent care of him. I highly recommended her!”

“Diana was amazing with my pup, Louis! He had an absolute blast — especially getting to run around outside and play with the other dogs and kids, which is such a treat for him since he doesn’t get that kind of freedom in Manhattan. I could tell he was well cared for and totally in his element. Communication was great, with tons of photos daily, and I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such a loving, fun environment. I’d strongly recommend Diana to anyone looking for a thoughtful and responsible sitter — we’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

“Vanessa is extremely great, she text and sent pictures and video how Lyla was doing, I was very comfortable leaving Lyla with Vanessa. Lyla barks frequently when she hear’s mail man, Landscapers etc. Vanessa sent me video Lyla at the door barking, Vanessa wasn’t distracted, Thanks Vanessa for boarding Lyla I was very pleased!!”

“Katherine was amazing, she took great care of my two small dogs and gave updates and was very accommodating when my flight was delayed and was able to extend my service. I would highly recommend her!!!”

“Taylor is so sweet! She took really good care of my girls when I went away for a week. She always sent me photos and updated me or asked questions when she needed. I would definitely use her again! Thank you so much!!!”

“Second time stay with Kamilah family, we love the fact they only take one dog at a time. 7 days without us, Luna came home happy and healthy, we will return for the third stay soon, thank you for taking good care of Luna, Luna ate well at Kamilah’s home, she looks great and we are happy.”

“Heeyoung consistently provides attentive and kind care! Waffles is always so happy and at ease with her and her family. She is communicative and very knowledgeable about dogs (what they need and how they feel). We highly recommend her!”

Beyond pet sitting, I’m deeply involved in the rescue community and serve as a Foster Manager with BARRK Rescue, where I help oversee placements, guide fosters, and support dogs coming from difficult or uncertain backgrounds. “Jenna and Greg are amazing! I've been using Rover for over 5 years now and this was hands down the best experience I've ever had boarding my dog Lola while I was out of town. It can be overwhelming finding a new sitter, especially during a holiday weekend, but the communication from both Jenna and Greg was phenomenal throughout the entire process and they immediately eliminated any stress. Though Jenna was out of town during Lola's stay, she was still extremely responsive and made sure I felt comfortable with everything. Lola spent 6 nights with Greg and their dog Hudson and I can't say enough good things about Greg! Lola definitely has a few quirks and is very timid but Greg was so good with her and treated her like his own pup. He sent photos throughout her entire stay, took her on long walks and to the dog park, and constantly kept me updated which allowed me to relax and fully enjoy my trip knowing she was in such good hands. I can't recommend these two (and Hudson) enough and look forward to using them again in the future!”
“Gloria and Jose are amazing. Little Fozzie loves being there. This week with them was like summer camp for dogs. We received regular updates and his disposition since returning is positive. Thank you both!”

“Lu took care of Choco for 4 days and he was very accommodating with drop off and pick up times. He sent photos and videos daily. He was responsive through texts and always replied promptly. Choco had a great time and will be booking again soon! Thank you.”

“He was wonderful with my baby. He sent pics and or videos often. My baby came back home spoiled and barking for constant rubs so i'mĺĺĺl sure he rubbed her a lot and she reallt enjoyed it. I will definitely use his services again.”

“Judy is a phenomenal dog sitter! First experience leaving our Bentley boy with someone other than in his own home and he had a blast! Judy was attentive and learned his personality very quick. We will be leaving Bentley with Judy from now on.”

Sarah abs her family were amazing. She kept us up to date with texts, photos and videos every day. She paid special attention to every detail about our pups and gave us some excellent tips on modifying certain behaviors. We would definitely recommend her without hesitation.
Charlotte was absolutely amazing with our girl Lexi!! Not only did she make us feel so relieved and secure the entirety of our trip, but Lexi eventually opened up to her which is something so huge for her. We were very very anxious about trying a sitter again considering Lexi had a terrible experience with a past sitter, which has caused mistrust towards strangers. It took some time and warming up to do but eventually Lexi caved in! Charlotte sent so many pictures and updates throughout the day which we absolutely loved. She is very sweet, patient, understanding with Lexi’s situation, and just overall an awesome sitter. Lexi will definitely be coming back!!

Trevor and Sabrina did an absolutely amazing job with my dog, Clyde. I received photos, communication was seamless, and due to my travels being delayed was able to have my dog spend some extra time there with no hesitation. Overall the experience was amazing and will definitely be returning to them in the future.

Cindy did great with Candy! Candy is definitely spoiled and needy most days but Cindy was able to meet all her needs and keep her content and resting while we were away on vacation. We enjoyed receiving little videos of her everyday and We will definitely use Cindy again in the future.

My husband and I recently needed a last minute pet sitter for our dog and Susan came through for us big time! Our girl Lexi had never stayed with people she didn't know but she warmed up to Susan and her husband immediately. They are super kind, trust worthy and provide a warm safe haven for your fur baby. She sent lots pictures and updates. We feel very fortunate to have found her and wouldn't hesitate to book with her again. Thank you Susan!

William B. was simply wonderful with our special needs cat Tuscan! He provided the safe and loving environment Tuscan needed while we had to go out of town and we couldn't be happier. Tuscan was very comfortable and well adjusted while staying with William. William gets the highest recommendation from our family! Excellent Job!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
