“Kayla and her family were wonderful to work with. My family could truly enjoy our trip without worry, knowing Daisy was well taken care of. Kayla and her family welcomed Daisy into their home. We received daily pictures and communication. We will definitely be repeat clients! Thank you!”

“Dilania is exceptional if they had more than 5 stars i would exceed . She took amazing care of charlie he was so thrilled being there while she consistently kept us in communication with texts and videos. She comes along with a book of knowledge very experienced !! Charlie will be returning to her and only her . Stop scrolling and select Dilania if you want dedicated and nurturing knowledgeable care giver for your animal. Love Casper and Cody 🌻”

“Joanna did an excellent job taking care of my dog, and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable sitter. She was very communicative throughout the entire process, always keeping me updated and making me feel comfortable while I was away. Her availability and flexibility were also greatly appreciated and made scheduling very easy. On top of that, everything was kept clean and organized, and it was clear that she genuinely cared about providing a safe and comfortable environment. Thank you again, Joanna, for taking such great care of my little guy!”

“Kierra went above and beyond to make us feel safe leaving a hope alone with a Rover for the first time. She communicated effectively during every visit, took excellent photos, and took time to really provide Hope with the care and love we wanted. She played and sang to Hope, as well as kept her food and water clean and full. We told her she didn’t need to do the litter every day, but she did anyway. Kierra was respectful of the apartment complex and timely with returning our key. Heart of gold and a friend of animals indeed. She even helped us with extending booking (when we messed up 5 times), We couldn’t have had a better experience or human to take care of Hope (who is a rescue cat but had no issues warming up to kierra)”

“This was a seamless service. Felt like my fur baby was with family. She communicated daily, sent pics and videos, without ask. My baby was so happy and well cared for. I am a forever client. This service was exceptional.”

“Cindy was amazing with my English Bulldog. She sent pictures and videos of Rocky everyday to me. Rocky was happy and relaxed while he was with Cindy. I highly recommend Cindy and definitely will be sure to let Rocky stay with her in the future 😊”

“AMAZING! Took care of my wonderful puppy, even taught him how to stop scratching people for food. Consistently sent photos and if I ever have to board again I know who's my number 1 pick!”

“If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would. Leaving your dog in someone else's care can be stressful, but from the moment I met Krissy, I knew my dog was in wonderful hands. Krissy went above and beyond in every way, treating my dog like a member of her own family. I received regular updates, photos, and messages that gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. It was obvious that my dog's happiness, comfort, and safety were her top priorities. When I returned, my dog was relaxed, happy, and clearly well cared for—a true reflection of the love, patience, and attention my dog Sophie received. It's rare to find someone so dependable, trustworthy, and genuinely passionate about animals. I wholeheartedly recommend Krissy to anyone looking for exceptional pet care. Krissy exceeded every expectation, and I wouldn't hesitate to entrust her with my dog again.”

“Nilka is everything you hope for when you go on Rover looking for pet care. She treats my dog like her own. Her husband and two kids are also great. They all spoil my dog with love and attention. “Heeyoung was a wonderful and caring sitter. This was the first time leaving our dog and she made us feel very comfortable and provided great updates so we can enjoy our vacation.”

“Kate was outstanding from start to finish. She made us feel comfortable with leaving our dog with her and went above and beyond to take care of him. She had her own space separate from other animals she has and stayed there with our dog the entire time. Kate sent us daily updates and made sure he was safe and well taken care of. We were so relieved to find a genuinely nice, caring person that we would book again. Thanks, Kate!”

“Sarah abs her family were amazing. She kept us up to date with texts, photos and videos every day. She paid special attention to every detail about our pups and gave us some excellent tips on modifying certain behaviors. We would definitely recommend her without hesitation.”
About: 💠 Hello! I offer pet care for when you’re not able to be there. I am available for drop-in visits, pet sitting, pet daycare, and also pet walking (even for cats!). 🚙 I currently provide pet care services for most of the Nassau County area and some parts of Nassau-Queens border. I am also able to travel to Manhattan with added transportation coverage. I am local: Repeat services booked with me receive special accommodations & rates. 🌃 Messages that are sent after hours on Rover may be responded to on the following day. 🔹 I’m experienced with small breeds, or toy breeds, specifically Pomeranians, been around them all my life, including newborns and senior dogs who were raised starting as puppies. 🔹 Experienced with docile cat breeds, in particular Persian, Himalayan, Ragdoll, Maine Coon and other related cat breeds. 🔹 Have experience with Goldfish, Bettas and birds such as Budgies, so knowledgeable about care. 🐾 I’m intuitive and pay attention to picking up the different ways a dog or cat expresses nonverbal communication, they constantly give us cues. About Me: I own a color-point Persian cat who is 7 years old that I enjoy spoiling. I can speak Italian, enjoy gardening, art, sewing, yoga, tennis & pilates. I’m a fan of the original Twilight movie directed by Catherine Hardwicke. 🐾 I’m currently providing pet care for a King Charles Cavalier who has mobility issues and dietary restrictions, but he is such a big mush! I am also caring for a special needs 4 month old kitten who needs to be syringe-fed, given both topical & oral medication on schedule, along with helping her with using a litter box. In addition to assisting with care of a (palm-sized) rescue kitten who is less than one month old needing to be bottle fed every few hours, given antibiotic medication for her eyes and frequent cleaning with wet wipes, due to being too young to know how to use a litter box. I have found it to be extremely rewarding and willing to look after a few more furbabies within my local area. 🔹 I’m trustworthy and reliable, I would always practice good manners. Respectful of privacy when I’m in a client’s home. I make sure that when I’m with your pet, safety is an upmost priority.
“I am so glad I trusted Kristen to keep my pet Yorkie. I went with her once I met her and saw how passionate she is about not just her animals but all. She treated my benjie like her own. I have left my dog with his vet boarding in the past and felt he didn't get the attention or care I expected. He was a little withdrawn and took a few days to be his normally playful self. When I picked up my pet from Kristen he was as happy as when I dropped him off and that meant a lot to me. I'm glad I chose Kristen and will definitely continue to use her services. I definitely recommend.”

The median cost per night for pet boarding in Wantagh is $60

This was the first time someone other than family watched our chocolate lab and Krissy did not disappoint!! She showed him love and care. He had a blast at her house for the week. She kept us updated throughout his stay by sending pictures and answered all questions in a timely manner. Would highly recommend and will be using again!!

We could not be happier with the care Toby received from Thu and her family! This was our first time leaving him with an in home sitter and we are thankful for such a great experience. Kayla and her family were wonderful! We were so nervous to leave our puppy with anyone but she kept us updated with photos and videos all weekend and helped put our mind at ease. We were so happy our puppy had kids to play with and keep her entertained. Our puppy had the best weekend ever.

Rachel Rachel was absolutely wonderful with Nilo. This was our first time using her services after our regular sitter had an unexpected emergency, and she was kind enough to meet with us right away. Nilo can be a little challenging at times, so I made sure to explain his personality, behaviors, and needs. Rachel was incredibly patient, understanding, and caring from the very beginning. She took the time to make Nilo feel comfortable, took him on several walks, and it was clear that he felt safe and relaxed in her home. It means so much to find someone who genuinely cares for your pet, and Rachel did exactly that. We felt at ease knowing Nilo was in such good hands. We are so grateful for her help and would not hesitate to book with her again. Thank you, Rachel, for taking such great care of our Nilo! ❤️ We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter.

Cindy did great with Candy! Candy is definitely spoiled and needy most days but Cindy was able to meet all her needs and keep her content and resting while we were away on vacation. We enjoyed receiving little videos of her everyday and We will definitely use Cindy again in the future.

My husband and I recently needed a last minute pet sitter for our dog and Susan came through for us big time! Our girl Lexi had never stayed with people she didn't know but she warmed up to Susan and her husband immediately. They are super kind, trust worthy and provide a warm safe haven for your fur baby. She sent lots pictures and updates. We feel very fortunate to have found her and wouldn't hesitate to book with her again. Thank you Susan!

AMAZING. Melissa was very kind. Mandy had an awesome time. Melissa kept us informed during her stay with pictures. It made as feel at ease leaving her with Melissa. Definitely would recommend her to any pup needing a pet sitter. Melissa thanks again for watching our Mandy.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
