“Teddy seemed to really enjoy his stay with Alissa. He looked happy in the pictures that she sent us and he came back home not mad at us for leaving him. Thank you so much for taking such good care of teddy!”

“We have a 80 lbs, 12+ year old lab, with arthritis in hind legs which makes it difficult for him to sit and get up. This time when our regular pet sitter was not available, we left Simba with Isabella with an almost skeptical mind as she did not have many reviews and seemed new. But at the end of the stay, we’re delighted to say that she took the best care of him, and made sure he got his walks and medicine on time.. she sent us very frequent updates including pictures and videos. She did everything to make sure that we were not worried about simba even for a minute while he was with her and were able to enjoy our time peacefully! Highly recommended!!”

“Trinity is wonderful! She was very accommodating when I had several changes in pickup/drop off time requests. She kept me updated and sent pictures throughout. I ended up bringing Jordy back for a second visit, and she was so excited to be back that she RAN to Trinity. I definitely recommend Trinity!!”

“Karishma was terrific with Gracie. She sent us lots of pictures and videos, and she went out of her way to make Gracie feel comfortable. (She even cooked a special dinner for her.). And when we told her it was Gracie’s birthday, she went to the pet store and bought her a birthday cookie! I highly recommend using Karishma to care for your pup!”

“OMG. Dan and Denise are amazing. Minnie’s first time away from home and they helped her through it like she has done it before. Minnie had an amazing time and looks forward to going back in 2 weeks.”
About: Hey im matt, and Ive lived with animals since i could remember always having a house full of 4 cats and 4 dogs at once! I know the behavior and ins and outs of any dog or cat so i can quickly be able to adapt to their emotions and behavior to make them feel safer and happier. Your furbabies will be treated to the highest standard as i do my own animals :) i have left previous jobs due to the lack of care of certain animals and environment conditions they were in due to the lack of control i had of the situation, i even have saved 15+ lost dogs and returned them home and saved them from car accidents during my daily drives working my delivery job. i would literally stop on a dime and ditch my vehicle and stop mid delivery just to go save multiple dogs lost and in danger so hopefully that gives you an idea of the type of care i would take for your own. I have a flexible part time job where i make my schedule so anytime is good for me usually to where i can pop in with no rush or stress and take care what you need done :) Follow and listen to all instructions word for word starting from how to enter the home to how to greet your pet to how to leave and say bye to ur pet if a certain manner is needed. i can adapt to any environment or condition to make sure your pet is safe and sound under your instructions :)
“Kristen and her partner were amazing! We received many photos of Mako on walks and hanging out with them at home. Knowing Mako was well taken care of gave us piece-of-mind to enjoy the weekend of wedding activities. Thanks Kristen!”

“My Zuri recently spent some time with Sandy. She sent me pictures and videos of her playing and enjoying her stay. Sandy is awesome! She took great care of my puppy.”

“John treats my dog like his own. John really seems to enjoy the time he has with Deuce. The funny thing was, Deuce hardly wanted to go home with me when I picked him up. Deuce wanted to continue to play. I don't have to worry at all when I leave Deuce with John.”

“I always trust that my dog will be safe and happy when he goes to Kerri’s. She is great with him but also super responsive with me. Always love seeing photos of my dog having a great time while I am away. Thanks Kerri!”

“This was our first time boarding Sammie outside of Petsmart. We are so happy that we chose Eliana. She took such good care of Sammie and kept me updated with a lot of pics. He looked happy and very comfortable with her family. I love that he wasn't confined to a tiny room like at Petsmart and was able to have lots of outdoor play at no extra charge. We will definitely be using Eliana the next time we need to board Sammie!”

“John was an amazing sitter for Benji. He was flexible and communicative. He took great care of my boy and Benji loved the company of John’s dog as well. Would definitely book with him again in the future!”

“Trisha was great, she kept us in the loop with pictures and texts the whole evening. It was the first time we left our dog Jax who’s 1-1/2 old boxer with tons of energy. Thank you Trisha and we will definitely leave Jax with again and again.”

“Just an incredible experience. Michelle was a pleasure to have dog sit Hero. She sent tons of pictures and videos and also gave Hero a bath! I would recommend her to anyone. 10/10.”

I’m comfortable managing different energy levels, feeding schedules, and maintaining a clean, organized space. My goal is to provide dependable, stress-free care so your pet feels secure and well cared for while you’re away. I work from home, so pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I’m able to provide consistent supervision throughout the day, including regular potty breaks, feeding, playtime, and rest. Dogs are not left alone for long periods, and I maintain a structured routine to keep them comfortable and settled. I provide a clean, safe, and calm home environment where pets are closely supervised at all times. I keep a limited number of dogs to ensure each one gets individual attention and to maintain a low-stress setting. I pay close attention to behavior, body language, and interactions to ensure all pets are comfortable and safe. “Pam fully embraced our fur baby with so much LOVE! Our boxer immediately felt comfortable in her surroundings. Pam took extra good care and went above and beyond for our fur baby. Our family felt relaxed knowing our baby was getting in her snuggles. We appreciated all of the daily photos and updates. Pam is an excellent care taker and the happiness from all of the furry friends is proof!”

About: I can still cry when I tell someone the story of when I got my first dog at 13yrs old. I held that adorable golden retriever pup and cried asking if it was really mine! The story of bringing another golden retriever into the lives of my daughters can yet again bring me to tears! Such precious memories! I am now on my second chocolate lab (easier hair drying time lol). Anyway a dog enters my life it is always special. That includes my daughter's cockapoo who has stolen my heart! Whenever I am out and see a dog, no matter what the breed, I always ask to say hello and give a pet! My family and friends sometimes call me the "Dog whisperer" because I am always ready to help should a question arise about care. I have cared for friends and family dogs many times and am ready to help with yours and create a special bond while doing so! I'm currently working in a school. Therefore, my availability during the week is limited. I am available for pop ins and walks after 4pm. Saturday and Sunday I have more availability and during the summer months. I walk my dog every morning and enjoy playing in my backyard. I am always giving lots of love and attention be it snuggles or cookies! Of course the cookies are given in moderation even when it is hard to resist the eyes of my dog asking for one!
“Gerald watched our dog in his home for 10 days, and we couldn't have been happier with the experience. Our dog can get anxious when he's away from home, but he was calm, comfortable, and clearly well cared for throughout his stay. Gerald took him on walks in the nearby park and provided excellent care. He was also a fantastic communicator, sending regular updates, photos, and videos that gave us peace of mind and made us feel connected while we were away. I would absolutely recommend Gerald to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter. We'll definitely be booking with him again in the future!”

“I cannot say enough good things about the care Freedom gave to my senior dog, Chunky. He’s an older dog with some anxiety issues, and Freedom handled him with so much patience, kindness, and calm energy. They went above and beyond. They took him to the dog park not once but twice, made homemade treats, and even gifted him a sweet new bandana. When I came home, I could tell Chunky had been genuinely happy and well cared for. It’s hard to find someone you trust with your pet, but I feel completely at ease leaving Chunky with Freedom anytime. I’m so thankful we found them, and I’ll absolutely be booking again.”

Nav is our go to pet sitter for our elderly husky. We have booked Nav so many times for when we travel that may dog gets excited when he pull up to her house. She sends many photos and videos during his stay, and our dog looks happy and relaxed. We are lucky to have found Nav !

Ms. Alicia was able to take me in on such short notice and she did an amazing job taking care of my dog, Shadow! She sent pics/videos to keep me updated on how Shadow was doing during the day, and also when I had a request, she would have no problem doing them. Her own dog, Ocean, also helped Shadow get accustomed to being around other dogs, so that was great as well! With her spacious backyard and amazing personality, I would 100% recommend and will be coming again in the future:)

Sara was wonderful with our dog Chloe! She sent frequent updates with photos and videos, which made us feel at ease. Chloe got daily walks, lots of playtime, and plenty of space to run around. It was clear she was happy and well cared for. We’re so grateful to have found someone who treats our dog like family!

From the moment we met Anna, we knew she was a good fit! She made booking the meet and greet, drop off and pick up super easy. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
