About: I have been very passionate about animals and the environment since I was 3 years old! I grew up around so many animals and it encouraged me to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. At a very young age I was introduced the opportunity to petsit for dogs and cats/kittens in my family. Later around 8 years ago I was able to start working in a more professional manner and cared for not only cats, kittens, and dogs but birds, different reptiles, and some aquatic pets! All these experiences are amazing and they just motivate my love and passion for animals. I have worked with pets of all ages as well as many with special diets and medications. Aside from my experience, I am a very energetic person! I love to go on hikes, runs, bikes, you name it! You can rest assured that your fur babies will get all the love, care, and enjoyment with me! I am an undergraduate student and I am currently a vet technician/assistant practicing with a couple clinica , which allows me plenty of time to care for your lovely fur babies! My availability is very flexible right now. I do have a large fenced yard! I have 1 energetic doggie named Milo and 2 cats named Blue and Maya Papaya. Milo does have social anxiety, so I will keep separate in order for both parties to feel comfortable. And for my cats they are very soft, kind, and friendly with everyone including dogs. You can rest assured that your baby is in great hands, as my top priority is their trust, comfort, and health!

About: My name is Alex and I would love to care for your furbabies as if they were my own! I host one family at a time (up to three pets from the same family). This ensures a premium experience for your pet that is calm, friendly and enjoyable. I do not have children or any pets of my own-this way I am be able to maintain a stress free environment for your pet to avoid any anxiety or nervousness around children or new animals. It is my job to put you and your pets at ease while you are away or busy. I want to ensure a stress free experience for all. 🐾 I will always be around to supervise the animals while I petsit! I offer a happy and calming experience for your pet in which they will enjoy lots of attention and cuddles/playtime from me or naps and comfort time and relaxing music should they desire. I’ve taken care of a number pets throughout my life. I grew up with small terriers and had fish too. Friends animals were always like my own. I adopted my beloved cat Calvin when I was 21 and in December 2022, 11 years later, he passed away leaving a hole in my heart. He had many health problems such as asthma and IBS, for which he was on several daily medications. This taught me to administer oral medication in pill pockets and use an inhaler attachment for him. I miss being around animals in general now that he’s been gone. I am looking so much forward to being able to provide boarding in my lakeside home. At this time, I’m not able to offer housesitting, very happily offer drop ins house sits and walks! Kindly note: * if your dog has a history of aggression towards people or has indoor accidents frequently I will not be able to host them. *Experience with breeds such as greyhounds, who may need a more quiet atmosphere I am available consistently at the moment as I run a part time home business. 24 hour consistent time with your pet is ensured. If they wish they can also sleep in the bedroom/bed. The fenced yard is big enough to run around supervised and also has tiered retaining walls. I also have a separate area for a cat(s) and a walk in closet style litter box “room”. I have plenty of toys, treats and catnip. At this time, I’m not able to offer boarding, very happily offer drop ins house sits and walks!

About: I have been saving neighborhood cats and pet sitting pups since I was a child. I will always give your pet extra TLC — I’m a pet owner myself and know what it feels like to have your furry friend in someone else’s care. You can expect texts with updates and pictures, so you can have proof and peace of mind that your pet is safe and sound. My availability varies because of my full time day job, but I am flexible, and typically free on the weekends! I can also arrange longer check ups (30 min+) or walks if need be — I love the outdoors and being active! I’m also a huge cat lover, so feel free to reach out for cat sitting as well.

About: Growing up, my family always had a house full of dogs and cats of every size, breed, and personality — and we often fostered strays, too! From an early age, I learned hands-on skills like training techniques, behavioral understanding, and basic at-home vet care. Over time, I developed a calm, intuitive approach that helps me connect with almost any animal I meet (and I’m always happy to prove it!). In middle and high school, I spent weekends volunteering at my local animal shelter, CNY SNAP in Cortland, NY. As an adult, I continued rescuing and rehoming cats and dogs until a few years ago when I welcomed my daughter. Now that she’s a bit older, I’m thrilled to be back doing what I love — caring for animals of all kinds. I understand that not every pet instantly warms up to new people, and that’s totally okay. I never force affection — instead, I read their cues, respect their boundaries, and build trust at their own pace. Whether your pet is shy, playful, senior, or special-needs, I’ll meet them where they are and give them the care and patience they deserve. Reliability and safety are my top priorities. When I’m in your home, I treat it with the same care and respect I would my own — leaving things clean, tidy, and often better than I found them. I value your privacy and always maintain discretion about your space and schedule. I’m detail-oriented and take note of the little things that make a big difference — from following feeding routines precisely to keeping track of any changes in your pet’s behavior. I’m also big on communication: you’ll receive thoughtful, photo-filled updates so you can relax knowing your pets are happy, safe, and cared for. Clients have described me as calm, reliable, and attentive — someone they can truly trust. My goal is always to create a stress-free experience for both you and your pet. I work from home on my own time so I have open availability! Weekends welcomed, and most holidays as well! I do my best to keep my schedule updated. While I can’t host pets in my own home (lease restrictions), I’m proud to provide an exceptional experience for both you and your pet in your home. I treat every home and animal with the highest level of care and respect, ensuring a calm, clean, and comfortable environment. I follow your pet’s care plan to the letter — feeding, medication, walks, bedtime routines, and all the little details that make them feel secure. I also go above and beyond to leave your space in great condition (because let’s be honest, a little pet mess is part of the fun!). If any questions or concerns arise, I’ll always reach out before taking any steps we haven’t discussed. I believe in clear, consistent communication and earning trust through reliability, attention to detail, and genuine love for what I do. And of course — all the cuddles and playtime are included, free of charge! ⭐ Please Note: I may occasionally have my five-year-old daughter with me for overnight stays. This will always be discussed ahead of time during our meet and greet to make sure you’re completely comfortable.

About: Welcome to Dan's Bay Shore Boarding! I have owned and cared for Dogs for 39 years. My home is extremely well suited for caring for dogs. Our back yard is completed enclosed with a 5 to 6 foot fence in an area greater than 1/3rd of an acre. 90% of the fence is 6 feet tall. Why do many people choose Dan's over many other qualified Rover hosts? -We don't have plans to own our own dog, so yours always comes first. -My price is competitive based on the care and the service level. -I do this full time, so your dog is generally loved every waking moment of the day -Look at my reviews. They are of the highest quality and very numerous 254+ guests have rated my service as 5 Star in the last 48 months, I have never gotten less than a 5 Star Rating. -My home and yard are decadently perfect for your dog to have the time of her or his life. I invested over $20,000 on my fencing and gates. -I make your life easier, ...in addition to daily pictures and short movies to your smart phone, I do drop offs and pick-ups of not only the dog, but You if you need a lift to the airport, the ferry or whatever. I also offer complimentary car parking at my house, so you don't have to deal with the hassle and expense of airport parking. Upon your return, I can get you at the airport with a goodie bag for your morning coffee with muffins, milk, fruit and bottled water, so you are all set for your first morning back from vacation. -I have photo books of every dog that has boarded with me, so I can show you pictures of the dogs that will be staying at the same time as your dog booking. You will see how they interact with other dogs in a variety of pictures. 75%of my business is repeat bookings and I am proud of that! -Read how often my customers have commented on how impeccably clean my home and yard is kept. It obviously matters to people. I put in the time to make sure it stays that way during your dog's stay! - I also make your life easier by having a stock of non-toxic dog shampoo and an all natural food supplement (great for bone and joint health) that you can purchase when you return at great prices! - My wife, Denise coordinates the schedule and provides both the welcome package and the Thank You notes at the back end of your dog's stay. You have 24 hour access to our home and each of our mobile phones. - Denise and I have been in Customer Service Businesses for 35 years and we have very high standards of excellence. - Our yard is huge and private, part of a pine forest, but I enjoy taking dogs for walks around our quiet neighborhood as well, to provide the most stimulating stay for your beloved dog. - I have my yard treated to minimize the chance of ticks, fleas and mosquitos with a safe solution , applied by a trained professional with decades of experience. -When it snows, I never need to use salt to melt it, because I am here all the time to snow blow and shovel as often as necessary. Your dog will not be exposed to salt on his or her paws. -I also save my clients lots of money on 4 and 5 Star Vacation Villas. Brands like Marriott, Hyatt and Four Seasons to name just a few. I am a Timeshare Insider and I will always steer you away from 90 minute tours or ever buying one, with the deals that I have personally been getting for about 25 years now! I have been to dozens of tropical islands, dozens of countries and about 40 of the States and I offer lots of free money saving advice. -From time to time, we have less demand. When I see that, I will reach out to existing clients and offer them special discounts on these occasions! I know my regular pricing is competitive but I am willing to propose a win/win package that will get your dog(s) back on vacation at a price I can live with on a limited / preferred client basis! These savings are commonly 25% or more off for the same great service ! -I am available to help others start a Rover business of their own. I have run several businesses, have 39 years experience, not only selling, but am certified to teach sales from prestigious Training Companies such as Miller Heiman, Cahners TRACOM, and Achieve Global. I have been selling out regularly and know exactly how to help someone else kiss corporate America goodbye in a field that they were born to thrive in from home! Now you have a good sense of why you may want to choose Dan's ! I have rescued and owned a variety of dog breeds that range from English Bulldogs, Beagles, Terriers and mixed breeds. I have house broken several puppies and have also lovingly cared for older dogs needing daily medication. (an additional nightly charge may apply based on the level of care your dog needs) My home is comfortable year round, as we have central air conditioning. We continually owned 2 dogs up until 2016, when our beloved dog Brodie passed away after a wonderful 14 year life. My wife, Denise and I have been married for 41 years and do not have any plans to rescue another dog for the foreseeable future, but we greatly look forward to caring for other people's cherished pets in our loving home. We offer stability. We are in this home for over 40 years and have no plans to ever move, so we can watch your dog(s) for many years, right here at our version of dog paradise. We have no children, but have our 13 year old nephew and 14, 11 and 8 year old nieces, who love dogs, sleep over 1 to 2 nights per month. We both get a big kick out of the unique personality of each dog and look forward to accommodating every one of them as they were part of our family. We like having your dog near us and showing our affection to them with lots of supervised playtime and hugs"

We are so so grateful for Caroline! She’s on top of communication and came out to meet our dogs before she started doing walks. She’s done a number of walks for us now! She stayed in touch and accommodated even our most random requests like pulling things out of our freezer for our dogs to use after their walks. We will continue to reach out to her as long as she’s available!! Thank you for being so great to our girls!

  • 88% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
