“We had such a wonderful experience with Brenda watching Beaux! She was incredibly communicative and sent daily updates and videos/photos that gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. You can truly tell how knowledgeable and experienced she is with dogs, and most importantly, how much genuine love and attention she gives them. Beaux was so happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. She even kindly kept him an additional night for us because our travel plan changed and we appreciated that so much. We would absolutely trust her with Beaux again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable and flexible sitter!”

About: I have 2.5 years of experience working as a veterinarian assistant for a family-owned and operated animal hospital. Aspects of my job include restraining, handling, medicating, feeding, grooming, bathing, and caring for any pets who may board with us at the hospital. I have comfortably handled dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, needs, and temperaments, and I am confident in my ability to care for dogs of all life stages. My schedule is extremely flexible and I am never away from home for more than four hours any day of the week, which means plenty of time for potty breaks, playtime, and feedings. I have a fully enclosed, insulated, temperature controlled, spacious gazebo on my property surrounded by a pet-proof fenced-in playpen. The inside is divided into four sections, so I can board up to four dogs no bigger than 40lbs at one time, and each pet will have his or her own space indoors for eating and sleeping. Outside, the pets will be able to interact and play, and they will always be supervised.
About: Neighbors and family have relied on me to care for their pets, including elderly and special needs animals, as well as exotic reptiles and birds, many times. I’m a part-time student in eco-toxicology at this time studying online so I’m around full time for pet care, feel free to reach out for care any day of the week! I am fully vaccinated! My home is full of people and pets so I don’t typically do boarding unless I know you and your pet well. I am happy to water plants if needed as well! Please keep in mind that my partner joins me for house sitting bookings. We have two cats together and he is also certified by Rover :)
“Rachel and Henrik (and their two wonderful kids!) watched our two Goldendoodles for the weekend, and we couldn’t have had a better experience. From the start, it was clear this was a perfect fit—we did a meet-and-greet beforehand, and instantly felt comfortable. Their home is beautiful, clean, and has a great backyard where our dogs had plenty of space to run and play. More importantly, our dogs were treated like part of the family—they got tons of attention, snuggles, and care all weekend. We also really appreciated the frequent updates and photos, which gave us total peace of mind. When we dropped them off, our dogs were so excited they ran right in without hesitation—that says everything. You can truly tell how much Rachel and Henrik love dogs and care for them as their own. One of the nicest families we’ve met, and we felt completely at ease knowing our dogs were so well cared for. We will absolutely be using them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional dog care.”

“Chief had a wonderful time with Jennifer and her family. He was well taken care of and we received lots of communication and pictures/videos. We look forward to Chief's next visit with Jennifer.”

“This was our first time leaving our senior rescue in someone else’s care. Isabella took such good care of him, and kept us updated with photos which we really appreciated. We have already booked his next stay.”

About: I can still cry when I tell someone the story of when I got my first dog at 13yrs old. I held that adorable golden retriever pup and cried asking if it was really mine! The story of bringing another golden retriever into the lives of my daughters can yet again bring me to tears! Such precious memories! I am now on my second chocolate lab (easier hair drying time lol). Anyway a dog enters my life it is always special. That includes my daughter's cockapoo who has stolen my heart! Whenever I am out and see a dog, no matter what the breed, I always ask to say hello and give a pet! My family and friends sometimes call me the "Dog whisperer" because I am always ready to help should a question arise about care. I have cared for friends and family dogs many times and am ready to help with yours and create a special bond while doing so! I'm currently working in a school. Therefore, my availability during the week is limited. I am available for pop ins and walks after 4pm. Saturday and Sunday I have more availability and during the summer months. I walk my dog every morning and enjoy playing in my backyard. I am always giving lots of love and attention be it snuggles or cookies! Of course the cookies are given in moderation even when it is hard to resist the eyes of my dog asking for one!
About: I’ve been caring for dogs of all breeds and sizes since I was 16. Friends, neighbors, and family have always trusted me to walk, feed, bathe, and love on their pets like they’re my own. Whether it’s playful puppies, energetic adults, or gentle seniors, I’m patient, attentive, and truly enjoy keeping pets happy and safe. I’d love to give your furry friend the same care and affection! I run my own social media marketing agency from home, so your pups will never be left alone for long stretches. I’m around throughout the day to give them playtime, potty breaks, and all the love they need. I’m available for boarding everyday but Tuesday’s and walks or drop-ins on weekdays after 2pm. I have a secure fenced yard and one friendly puppy who love making new pals and is crate trained. Your fur baby will get plenty of exercise, safe outdoor time, and supervised play. I can also crate them if needed. I treat every pet like my own, keeping them happy, comfy, and safe.

“Dan and Denise are absolutely amazing. I'm on the east coast for 6 weeks and during that time have several business trips lined up. Dan picked me up at the airport and brought me to his place for a meet and greet and then dropped me off at my destination. The dogs got along very well, their house is impeccable and the yard is enormous! Dan and Denise said they'd be able to take the pup for all of my trips which makes everything easier on the fur baby and makes me more relaxed. She *loved* her weekend with them and is already set up for some more time later this week! It's wonderful to know that my pup has wonderful people looking out for her while I'm gone. Dan thinks about absolutely every detail and makes my life easier. He even knows my favorite drink and makes sure to have one for me when he picks me and the pup up for our trips. Not sure how I'd manage all my work travel without him.”

“Eliana is the best dog sitter! She takes very good care of Sully and make's sure he gets plenty of walks and playtime. We trust her completely and she takes plenty of photos. We couldn’t recommend her more.”

“We cannot rave enough about our experience with Danielle! We used her for our Mastiff puppy while we went on vacation and we were worried because he was a puppy on how he would be with being sat for the first time. We met with Danielle prior to the stay and our first impression was terrific. We had such a great piece of mind while we were gone. She sent multiple pictures daily and likewise kept us informed on how he was doing. We could tell that he thoroughly enjoyed his stay at her home and it was a great experience for him to be with other older dogs! Danielle was also so very patient & accommodating with us getting stuck on our trip longer due to the weather! We would/will recommend her to anyone we know and if we need a sitter in the future, we know who we will ask first! Thank you to Danielle and her family for treating our Otto as one of their own. ?You can't ask for more than that!”

“Joanne and her family where absolutely perfect to care for Carmelo. He seemed to adjust so well into there family and made it comfortable for me to take a peaceful vacation without the worry of how Carmelo was doing. I would recommend using Joanne as I will again.”

“Tammy was a great sitter for our Lennon. She and her family took great care of him. We received daily updates with photos. Lennon had a great time while in her care. We will definitely use Tammy again when we need a sitter.”

“Kristen was a great sitter! She’s very responsive and easy to work with. She and her husband took great care of our puppy. She sent great updates and videos. We’d be happy to have Maggie stay with her again!”

“Sandy is absolutely wonderful! I was so impressed with her knowledge of dogs and how perceptive she was with our Daisy girl. So much so, we have already booked her for another trip to watch our pup. I would highly recommend her. It is very clear she is an animal lover and Daisy was immediately comfortable with her. I was grateful that she set up a meet and greet before booking to make sure we would all be a good fit. So thankful to have found Sandy and she will absolutely be our go-to dog sitter from now on!”

“John was an amazing sitter for Benji. He was flexible and communicative. He took great care of my boy and Benji loved the company of John’s dog as well. Would definitely book with him again in the future!”

I’d give 100 stars if I could. I’d never used Rover.com before and we were in a last minute bind with our new puppy, scheduled to go on vacation, when our sitter fell through. Samantha is exactly who you want to care for your pet. She’s so knowledgeable, loving, and kind with a true passion for caring for animals. She was so great with communication, sending us updates, pics, and videos and following our pup’s routine. I’m so at ease to know we now have someone like Samantha in our life to help us with our guy! She was truly heaven sent. Highly recommend. Thank you Sam!

Theresa was awesome! I had no worries and felt so comfortable leaving my dog with her even though I never boarded in someone’s house. I dogsit part time myself and she’s great!! She sent me pics every day and Charlie looked so happy. She also smelled so good when we picked her up lol!! Thanks again 😊

I am incredibly grateful Marcia was able to watch my dog on short notice. My pup seemed showered with affection and warmth, since usually, when leaving her with a sitter, she shows some signs of anxiety or stress upon my return. As a rescue, she can be quite nervous, but Marcia’s care seemed to make her feel safe and relaxed. I highly recommend if you want a caring, warm and attentive sitter!

Ms. Alicia was able to take me in on such short notice and she did an amazing job taking care of my dog, Shadow! She sent pics/videos to keep me updated on how Shadow was doing during the day, and also when I had a request, she would have no problem doing them. Her own dog, Ocean, also helped Shadow get accustomed to being around other dogs, so that was great as well! With her spacious backyard and amazing personality, I would 100% recommend and will be coming again in the future:)

I had a great experience with Nelson for overnight boarding and I would highly recommend him. He took such great care of my puppy and treated her like part of the family. My dog, Chloe and his dog got along well and played nicely together. Communication was great throughout the experience, with the just the right amount of updates and photos each day. My pup came home happy, tired, and clearly well-loved. I couldn’t ask for better care and would definitely book with Nelson again.

Sara was wonderful with our dog Chloe! She sent frequent updates with photos and videos, which made us feel at ease. Chloe got daily walks, lots of playtime, and plenty of space to run around. It was clear she was happy and well cared for. We’re so grateful to have found someone who treats our dog like family!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
