About: My dog Winnie is 17, so I’ve had lots of experience as a pet carer! Even though Winnie is a small dog, I have experience pet sitting and walking large dogs. I also love cats and have welcomed them into my home to cat sit over the last several years. I work as an independent artist and bartender, so I have a flexible schedule that gives me availability to take care of your furry friend or feline when you’re working! I am available morning, evening and night on weekdays and morning and afternoons on the weekends. I prioritize creating a safe, calm, and comfortable environment for every pet by following their routine closely and giving them plenty of attention, care, and supervision. I understand how important trust is when caring for someone’s pet, and I treat every animal with patience, responsibility, and love.

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and have been caring for them most of my life, so being attentive to their needs comes naturally to me. I treat every pet like they’re my own; making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m reliable, patient, and pay close attention to routines, whether that’s feeding schedules, walks, or just giving them the extra affection they’re used to. I’ll always keep you updated with photos and check-ins for peace of mind. I’m especially patient with shy or anxious dogs and take the time to help them feel at ease. My fiancé, Eric has also always grown up with dogs and was responsible for taking care of dogs and his cat while growing up and they all lived will into their senior years. He is great with more high energy and active dogs, going on long walks, or runs and hikes with them. I work full time where I commute Monday-Friday. Weekends I’m home. My Fiancé also works full time but he gets out a little earlier than I do. For weekend stays we are available to give your furry family the most attention and care. If there is need during the week I’m usually away from home for 10 hours during the day including my commute time to and from work. We will walk and feed them before we leave in the morning and as soon as either of us gets home will do the same and then again before bedtime. In our home, pets are cared for in a calm, safe environment. We live on the second floor of a house in a suburban neighborhood with sidewalks, which allows for safe, structured walks. While we don’t have direct yard access, we make sure dogs get regular walks, exercise, and attention. I also have a senior cat who is naturally shy and takes time to warm up, so I’m very understanding of pets who may be anxious or need a slower, more gentle approach. In a client’s home, I focus on maintaining your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible whether that’s feeding schedules, walks, playtime, or quiet time. I’m attentive to their behavior and needs, and I always aim to make them feel comfortable and secure while you’re away.

Sarah was great at stopping by and caring for my two cats. I almost think to good, my cats didn't seem to miss me when I got back. Sarah sent photos and spent time with them so they didn't feel neglected. Sarah also went above and beyond by shoveling snow! It snowed while I was away and Sarah cleared the walk way and some of the driveway. Plus she also let the cats have some outdoor time in the snow (they are indoor/outdoor cats so it was good that they got some outdoor time while I was away so things seemed normal).

About: Hello, my name is Anna, and I’m a dedicated and experienced dog caregiver with a lifelong passion for animals. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of owning and caring for three wonderful dogs—a Bichon Frise, a Lab mix, and a Pitbull—each of whom taught me something unique about loyalty, love, and responsibility. My Experience I have hands-on experience managing all aspects of dog ownership, including training, daily walks, vet appointments, and all related care expenses. I'm comfortable with dogs of all breeds and sizes and am confident handling multiple dogs at once. Whether it’s a high-energy pup or a gentle senior, I tailor my care to each dog’s individual needs. I work full-time, but pet care is a meaningful part of my life and something I make time for. I’m available for evening walks, weekend dog sitting, and flexible drop-ins. Caring for animals brings me joy, and I always ensure they get the attention and love they deserve, no matter how busy life gets. In my home, pets stay in a safe, clean, and loving environment with plenty of attention, playtime, and care. I follow their usual routine to help them feel at ease. In a client’s home, I respect your space and stick to your pet’s schedule—feeding, walking, and giving them the love and attention they’re used to. Wherever your pet is, I care for them like they’re my own.

Tom was excellent with our pup Loki and very respectful of our home. He made the effort to fully understand our directions and followed them to the T, important when we are trying to train our pup. Loki was sound asleep, fed and satisfied when we came home. Tom was also very communicative. Highly recommend.

About: I have a B.S. in animal science with the goal of going to veterinary school. I have experience as a vet assistant in a small animal hospital, as well as a variety of animal experiences. I was a part of a college club training future guiding eyes for the blind dogs, where I also became a certified sitter for Guiding Eyes for the blind. I owned and cared for a Shih Tzu for 15 years and have watched friends' and family's dogs. I'm currently working part-time, so I will have plenty of time to walk and play with your dogs! I'm available all day on weekends and on Wednesdays. I am currently available on Tuesdays and Thursdays after 11:30 am. Your pet will be well supervised with plenty of affection. I have a bachelor's degree in animal science and experience as a veterinary assistant, so I’m comfortable caring for pets with different needs, personalities, and medical routines.

We needed a dog sitter for our two golden retrievers while our daughter was getting married. We chose Jess. Jess listened to all our requirements and assured us that Gracie and Remy would be cared for, played with and would be exhausted that day. She was right. We loved the pictures she sent us of them having a good time. In fact, although I came home early from the wedding, Jess pulled in right after me and the dogs went to her. We will definitely use Jess next time.

First off, this was my first time using this app/service and was nervous hoping to find someone who would treat our dog like their own. Madison was absolutely fantastic. We met her a day before and our dog took an immediate liking to her. Right away we felt a sense of comfort knowing our dog would be in good hands. The following day Madison checked on Kygo (our dog) throughout the day and communicated with us each visit. She gave us a detailed report on her visit and ample photos of our dog playing and happy. It is such a great feeling knowing there are responsible and caring people who can give you peace of mind when leaving your dog home for the day. I HIGHLY recommend Madison to anyone who is looking for a dog sitter. She was fantastic and we will 100000% be using her in the future. Oh, and she took in packages for us… going above and beyond! Thank you Madison!

Christina was an exceptional stand in as a best friend to our large nine year old dog! She was attentive, communicative, thoughtful and engaged for the multiple days we were away. She shared photos and videos regularly and adhered perfectly to the “older dog” instructional needs. Extremely caring and a true dog person. We were in good hands and would absolutely use Christina in the future. Whole heartedly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
