“Sara and her family are wonderful! Our dog Ember has stayed with her many times over the last few years and always has a great time. Sara sends frequent updates and I always feel comfortable knowing that Ember is getting amazing care. Thank you Sara :)”

“My Benji was in great hands! Maria took good care of him and treated him as if he were her own. She provided picture and video updates and she was very responsive. I would certainly book her again and would have no reservations recommending her to anyone who is looking for a sitter.”

“Donna was exactly what we needed! A caring person who could handle our puppy with care and compassion. She was good with communicating with us on how our puppy was doing. We will certainly continue to work with her.”

“John has been caring for my Yorkie for several over night stays. Despite my dog’s anxiety she always settles in to staying at his house. She has made herself at home by taking over his dog’s bed. We will be using him again!”

“This is my second time using Jinay and I never have to worry about Rocky’s health, safety or maintenance. He has a good time with her family and she shares videos and checks in often. I work for the NFL so during Super Bowl I am extremely busy but one less thing to worry about is Rocky’s care, especially as a bully breed. No complaints. No issues. Good communication and follow-up always.”

About: My family love pets specially my little 9 years old, we are looking to help pet parents whenever they need support with their loved pet. We understand pets are important family members and that is exactly why I take this responsibility seriously, with me you can rest assure your pet will be under good care! As of the moment we count with full availability. I say we because I can take care of your pet or my mother who lives with me. I live in a condo , the building is pet friendly and has a huge park across the street where I can take your pet for their needs and to unwind with a nice walk.
About: Hey im matt, and Ive lived with animals since i could remember always having a house full of 4 cats and 4 dogs at once! I know the behavior and ins and outs of any dog or cat so i can quickly be able to adapt to their emotions and behavior to make them feel safer and happier. Your furbabies will be treated to the highest standard as i do my own animals :) i have left previous jobs due to the lack of care of certain animals and environment conditions they were in due to the lack of control i had of the situation, i even have saved 15+ lost dogs and returned them home and saved them from car accidents during my daily drives working my delivery job. i would literally stop on a dime and ditch my vehicle and stop mid delivery just to go save multiple dogs lost and in danger so hopefully that gives you an idea of the type of care i would take for your own. I have a flexible part time job where i make my schedule so anytime is good for me usually to where i can pop in with no rush or stress and take care what you need done :) Follow and listen to all instructions word for word starting from how to enter the home to how to greet your pet to how to leave and say bye to ur pet if a certain manner is needed. i can adapt to any environment or condition to make sure your pet is safe and sound under your instructions :)
“Rachel and Henrik (and their two wonderful kids!) watched our two Goldendoodles for the weekend, and we couldn’t have had a better experience. From the start, it was clear this was a perfect fit—we did a meet-and-greet beforehand, and instantly felt comfortable. Their home is beautiful, clean, and has a great backyard where our dogs had plenty of space to run and play. More importantly, our dogs were treated like part of the family—they got tons of attention, snuggles, and care all weekend. We also really appreciated the frequent updates and photos, which gave us total peace of mind. When we dropped them off, our dogs were so excited they ran right in without hesitation—that says everything. You can truly tell how much Rachel and Henrik love dogs and care for them as their own. One of the nicest families we’ve met, and we felt completely at ease knowing our dogs were so well cared for. We will absolutely be using them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional dog care.”

“Trisha was great, she kept us in the loop with pictures and texts the whole evening. It was the first time we left our dog Jax who’s 1-1/2 old boxer with tons of energy. Thank you Trisha and we will definitely leave Jax with again and again.”

“John was an amazing sitter for Benji. He was flexible and communicative. He took great care of my boy and Benji loved the company of John’s dog as well. Would definitely book with him again in the future!”

About: I have 2.5 years of experience working as a veterinarian assistant for a family-owned and operated animal hospital. Aspects of my job include restraining, handling, medicating, feeding, grooming, bathing, and caring for any pets who may board with us at the hospital. I have comfortably handled dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, needs, and temperaments, and I am confident in my ability to care for dogs of all life stages. My schedule is extremely flexible and I am never away from home for more than four hours any day of the week, which means plenty of time for potty breaks, playtime, and feedings. I have a fully enclosed, insulated, temperature controlled, spacious gazebo on my property surrounded by a pet-proof fenced-in playpen. The inside is divided into four sections, so I can board up to four dogs no bigger than 40lbs at one time, and each pet will have his or her own space indoors for eating and sleeping. Outside, the pets will be able to interact and play, and they will always be supervised.

“Dan and Denise are simply the best! We never had one worry while on vacation leaving our pups with them! They sent us daily videos and picture updates of our dogs having a great time enjoying themselves and being well taken care of! Our fur kids take medication daily and have dietary needs and allergies and they were completely on top of it! Our dogs loved interacting with the other pups that were on their puppy vacations too and they came home tired from all of the fun they had! HIGHLY recommend and would never hire anyone else for our babies!”
“We had Jennifer watch our older GSD Dolly for the first time this week. Jennifer and her husband took very good care of our girl, were very attentive to her needs. She sent pictures of a happy, smiling dog to us, which we appreciated. Looking forward to using Jennifer for a much longer stay in the near future. They are definitely dog people.”

“Catherine is literally the BEST!! My dog Theo, loves staying at her house. Catherine provides a clean & safe environment while providing supervision. She sends pictures (as many as you’d like) and videos to ease your mind. Theo is my fur-baby so to know he is in good hands while I’m away is such a blessing. Catherine is hands down my “go to” for Theo if I am in need of a dog sitter. Thank you again, Catherine ?”

“Yaina was fantastic! My dog is elderly with some arthritis issues. She took excellent care of him and sent lots of pictures and messages so i could see how he was doing. I highly recommend her!”

“Kristen was very accommodating to our shy rescue pup, Maizie. She got all the attention and was well looked after and I have booked Kristen to watch her for another stay.”

Maria did an excellent job over this past weekend of taking care of my five month old puppy. I needed a last-minute dog sitter and she responded to me fast and efficiently. she consistently kept me updated and made sure that my puppy was happy and safe and consistently made sure she played not only with other dogs but also with her family. I am very grateful for everything that she’s done for my puppy 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Freedom was a huge help when we had to book at the last minute due to a family emergency. They were very nice to Cleo and accommodated her food needs and energy level. They also made a very cute portrait of Cleo and gifted her a bandana, which she is still wearing and loving. I highly recommend Freedom to others looking for a sitter.

Our doggos took an instant liking to Kyla, whom from this first instance of contact was so incredibly polished and professional and really helped put us at ease. She sent is pictures for updates and answered all of our questions. We will definitely be repeats, our dogs had a superb time and hardly missed us at all

Christian was absolutely wonderful — super sweet, reliable, and trustworthy with my dog, Kasper. I was initially very apprehensive about being away for a whole week, but Christian quickly put my mind at ease. He communicated clearly and consistently, sending regular updates with photos and videos so I always knew how Kasper was doing. I truly appreciated the care, attention, and professionalism he provided. I would highly recommend Christian to anyone looking for a responsible and compassionate sitter for their fur babies! 🤗

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
