About: I’ve grown up around dogs and have been caring for them most of my life, so being attentive to their needs comes naturally to me. I treat every pet like they’re my own; making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m reliable, patient, and pay close attention to routines, whether that’s feeding schedules, walks, or just giving them the extra affection they’re used to. I’ll always keep you updated with photos and check-ins for peace of mind. I’m especially patient with shy or anxious dogs and take the time to help them feel at ease. My fiance Eric has also always grown up with dogs and was responsible for taking care of dogs and his cat while growing up and they all lived will into their senior years. I work full time where I commute Monday-Friday. Weekends I’m home. My Fiancé also works full time but he gets out a little earlier than I do. For weekend stays we are available to give your furry family the most attention and care. If there is need during the week I’m usually away from home for 10 hours during the day including my commute time to and from work. We will walk and feed them before we leave in the morning and as soon as either of us gets home will do the same and then again before bedtime. In our home, pets are cared for in a calm, safe environment. We live on the second floor of a house in a suburban neighborhood with sidewalks, which allows for safe, structured walks. While we don’t have direct yard access, we make sure dogs get regular walks, exercise, and attention. I also have a senior cat who is naturally shy and takes time to warm up, so I’m very understanding of pets who may be anxious or need a slower, more gentle approach. In a client’s home, I focus on maintaining your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible whether that’s feeding schedules, walks, playtime, or quiet time. I’m attentive to their behavior and needs, and I always aim to make them feel comfortable and secure while you’re away.

“This was our second time with Steff caring for our two (very needy) sphynx cats and, once again, she was very attentive and professional. As other reviews have noted, Steff loves animals and she provided great care while maintaining frequent communication while we were on vacation. Steff sent lots of photos of the cats at play, which is always reassuring when you are thousands of miles away, and they clearly enjoy her company. We highly recommend Steff to take care of your pet or pets and we hope to use her next time we are away.”

“Sarah was great at stopping by and caring for my two cats. I almost think to good, my cats didn't seem to miss me when I got back. Sarah sent photos and spent time with them so they didn't feel neglected. Sarah also went above and beyond by shoveling snow! It snowed while I was away and Sarah cleared the walk way and some of the driveway. Plus she also let the cats have some outdoor time in the snow (they are indoor/outdoor cats so it was good that they got some outdoor time while I was away so things seemed normal).”

“Jamey visited my newly adopted senior cat three times a day for three days. She fed her, gave her medications, cleaned her litter box and kept her company. It’s so comforting to know that I can enjoy my little vacations while my cat is well cared for back at home.”

About: I really love animals and spending time with them. I currently work as a dog walker, so I’m used to being around dogs with different personalities, sizes, and energy levels. I also have my own cat, Leyla, so I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. I always pay attention to each pet’s needs and routine. Whether it’s feeding, going on walks, playing, or just keeping them company, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I’m responsible, patient, and easy to communicate with. I treat every pet like my own, and their safety and happiness are always my priority. My work shifts end by 3:30 PM, so I am fully available for afternoon and evening care at your home. While my off days vary each week, I am very flexible and can provide dedicated time for walks or house sitting during those days. I am committed to following your pet's specific routine and ensuring they get the attention they need once I am off work. I am a very responsible and alert sitter who prioritizes the safety of your pet and the security of your home. “As always, Staci was on time (even a little early) and took great care of Molly. She sat on the floor and played with her, made sure she also did all of her potty stuff, and gave her treats for being a good girl. Staci definitely loves what she does, and enjoys being of service! Will book again!”

Central Islip cat parents share their Rover experiences
Joanne took care of our 3 pets during drop-in visits over a 3-day period. Joanne showed great care while feeding and interacting with Fiona (our 10 year old pit bull), Davlin (our 17 year old frail cat), as well as Moshie (our shy 13 year old cat). Joanne provided detailed information regarding her care for the individual needs of each of our pets during each visit. She also provided numerous photos of each animal while visiting. Prior to her drop-ins, Joanne came over for a Meet and Greet in order to go over details while visiting, as well as getting to meet our pets. In addition, Joanne kept us up to date with each interaction while visiting and any questions or concerns that she or we may have had during the visits. Without a doubt Joanne demonstrates a tremendous amount of care and professionalism in every aspect while working with us and caring for Fiona, Davlin and Moshie. I look forward to having Joanne care for our pets in the future, as well as highly recommend anyone who has a need for someone to care for their pets.
