About: Iâve grown up around dogs and have been caring for them most of my life, so being attentive to their needs comes naturally to me. I treat every pet like theyâre my own; making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while youâre away. Iâm reliable, patient, and pay close attention to routines, whether thatâs feeding schedules, walks, or just giving them the extra affection theyâre used to. Iâll always keep you updated with photos and check-ins for peace of mind. Iâm especially patient with shy or anxious dogs and take the time to help them feel at ease. My fiancĂŠ, Eric has also always grown up with dogs and was responsible for taking care of dogs and his cat while growing up and they all lived will into their senior years. He is great with more high energy and active dogs, going on long walks, or runs and hikes with them. I work full time where I commute Monday-Friday. Weekends Iâm home. My FiancĂŠ also works full time but he gets out a little earlier than I do. For weekend stays we are available to give your furry family the most attention and care. If there is need during the week Iâm usually away from home for 10 hours during the day including my commute time to and from work. We will walk and feed them before we leave in the morning and as soon as either of us gets home will do the same and then again before bedtime. In our home, pets are cared for in a calm, safe environment. We live on the second floor of a house in a suburban neighborhood with sidewalks, which allows for safe, structured walks. While we donât have direct yard access, we make sure dogs get regular walks, exercise, and attention. I also have a senior cat who is naturally shy and takes time to warm up, so Iâm very understanding of pets who may be anxious or need a slower, more gentle approach. In a clientâs home, I focus on maintaining your petâs normal routine as closely as possible whether thatâs feeding schedules, walks, playtime, or quiet time. Iâm attentive to their behavior and needs, and I always aim to make them feel comfortable and secure while youâre away.
âShelby was absolutely wonderful with our cats Peanut & Simba. She was communicative and sent us pictures regularly during her visits. We will definitely be using her services again in the future!!â

âI cannot thank Aurora enough for taking such great care of my two cats for 10 days while I was away on vacation. I knew Aurora was the perfect fit for my kitties from the moment she came over for a meet and greet. They were immediately drawn to her. I knew I didnât have to worry about going away on vacation while Aurora was looking after them. She was in constant contact with me throughout her daily drop-in visits, sent me photos of my cats during every visit and ask me questions when she wasnât sure about something. She left my house in the same condition as when I left for vacation. She is 100% reliable and I will definitely use her again. You should too.â

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Brentwood
Joanne took care of our 3 pets during drop-in visits over a 3-day period. Joanne showed great care while feeding and interacting with Fiona (our 10 year old pit bull), Davlin (our 17 year old frail cat), as well as Moshie (our shy 13 year old cat). Joanne provided detailed information regarding her care for the individual needs of each of our pets during each visit. She also provided numerous photos of each animal while visiting. Prior to her drop-ins, Joanne came over for a Meet and Greet in order to go over details while visiting, as well as getting to meet our pets. In addition, Joanne kept us up to date with each interaction while visiting and any questions or concerns that she or we may have had during the visits. Without a doubt Joanne demonstrates a tremendous amount of care and professionalism in every aspect while working with us and caring for Fiona, Davlin and Moshie. I look forward to having Joanne care for our pets in the future, as well as highly recommend anyone who has a need for someone to care for their pets.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your catsâ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brentwood. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
