About: I enjoy cats and dogs as I have had my own, currently pet sit for my roommates cats while she’s on vacation. Cuddle puddles are my favorite pastime Evenings and weekends are preferred, can be flexible. I can do drop ins anytime past 6pm on the weekdays and anytime on the weekends. Emergency calls can also be arranged. I care for pets by slowly introducing myself, first by smell then when comfortable, by touch. I give treats when warranted, but ensure no over feeding/snacking. Lastly I cuddle with pets who are most comfortable.

About: Hi! My name is Shelby. I am a dog owner and a recent graduate with a Bachelor degree in Animal Science on the path of becoming a veterinarian. I am looking to take care of pets of any size. I have experience from all over but the most significant one is my workplace where I functioned as a veterinarian technician, so I’m more than confident in my pet handling skills. With that job came responsibilities like medicating animals, watching and understanding body language, looking out for problematic symptoms, etc. all things I succeed in. At the practice, we dealt with dogs and cats of all different sizes and temperament, so there’s little room to worry if you book with me. With that being said, getting to meet your fabulous pet would be a great pleasure for me not only because I love animals but because it moves me forward in what I strive to become, which is, an understanding and caring doctor of veterinary medicine! I’m currently working on expanding my pet sitting business so this is my main focus. I am also in the midst of taking college courses online so I am available for most days. I have a fur baby of my own so I know how important it is to make sure whoever takes care of your pet is doing their very best and nothing less of that. I am an active listener so whatever you want me to do it will be done to a tee. Crating, giving medicine, enrichment activities, etc. are all things within my capabilities and even if something isn’t I will be sure to let you know beforehand. I have house sit before so updates on anything will always be given and I will leave your home just as it was. Your home and pet is like another part of you so I would never treat it as less than that.

About: Dog walking is something I love to do. I take my dog (a boisterous standard schnauzer with quite the mind of his own!) on a walk everyday and love to help others out by giving their pup some exercise! I know that all dogs are unique, so I will take great care to make sure that I follow any instructions given and make this a great experience for the dog. I am good at reading a dog’s body language and know techniques to help calm a dog down if it gets overstimulated and will take necessary steps to ensure the dog’s comfort. I also know my way around the neighborhood, and can take the pup to new and exciting places (within the owners comfort level of course!) so they have a great time! As a recent college graduate, I have a very flexible schedule with ample time to dedicate to taking care of pets. I usually do morning and evening walks (as to avoid too high temperatures) and throughout the day can provide general pet care. I have a large, fenced in yard that pups can run freely in with my own dog. There is also a pool that they can use (under strict supervision of course!) and they have free access to all areas inside the house. We are also conscientious about making sure there are no dangerous things lying around (eg. socks, small items) that the dog can get to.

I understand that every dog has a different personality and routine, so I take the time to follow each owner’s instructions closely. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles, or just a calm companion, I’ll make sure they feel loved and cared for. I work from home, so pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine. Since I’m home often, your pet won’t be left alone for long periods of time, and I can help keep them on their normal schedule so they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. For house sitting, I’m also able to bring my work equipment with me, which allows me to stay with your pet while still working remotely and giving them consistent care and companionship. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make it a priority to keep their routine and environment as normal and comfortable as possible. I carefully follow all instructions for feeding, walks, potty breaks, medications if needed, crate routines, and any house rules. I always make sure doors, gates, leashes, and fenced areas are secure, and I pay close attention during walks and playtime to keep pets safe. I’m respectful of every client’s home and will treat both your pet and your space with care. I’m also happy to send updates and photos so you feel comfortable while you’re away.
