“Lauren was both attentive and caring. I felt very comfortable leaving my fur baby with her. She was very loving warm , and caring, and even made sure that she included ample playtime for my Jeter. , I felt completely at ease with the level of care, and attentiveness that she provided. I would definitely have her back here again , without reservation to take care of my little fur baby, she was absolutely a delight to work with.Thank you Lauren , for taking such good care of my Jeter . Looking forward to many more future visits .”

“Amy was great with our 2 large pups! We have a slightly complicated feeding routine and she made a clear chart to keep track of everything, including meds for one pup. Our house was just as we left it to include laundered sheets and towels which was such a nice surprise! Would be happy to have her come back.”

“Beth was very caring to Buddy and stayed in touch with me daily on how he was doing. She took good care of my house as well and communicated quickly. I’d book her services again :)”

About: I bring a calm, reliable presence and genuine love for animals. I’m experienced with both puppies and senior pets, including reinforcing training, maintaining routines, and providing gentle support for older pets who need extra care. I’m detail‑oriented, safety‑focused, and communicate clearly so owners always feel informed and confident. Every pet is treated with patience, respect, and the same care I’d want for my own. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I plan my days around consistency. I’m comfortable with early mornings, scheduled walks, feeding times, and regular check‑ins. I treat each visit as a priority, making sure every pet gets dependable care and attention throughout the week. When I care for pets in my home or a client’s home, I focus on creating a safe, calm, and predictable environment. I follow each pet’s routine exactly as outlined — feeding times, walks, play, training reinforcement, and any medication needs. I take time to understand their personality, comfort level, and energy so I can adapt my approach and help them feel secure. For puppies, I reinforce the basics: crate routines, potty breaks, consistent schedules, and positive training habits. For senior pets, I’m patient and gentle, offering slow walks, mobility support, and medication reminders. No matter the age, I keep communication open with owners through updates, photos, and honest check‑ins so they always feel confident and informed.
“Jessica was great at communicating, responded very quickly and sent us lots of updates which we appreciated very much. We came home to happy tired dogs. Would definitely hire again!”

“Jaiden was awesome! He stayed with our dog Beau for a week. He sent pictures and updates to us and Beau looked so happy and well taken care of. Jaiden also took care of our house while we were away and did a fantastic job. Will definitely choose Jaiden again!”

About: I have been a vet receptionist for the past year and I have a furry friend that has been with me for 13 long healthy years. I’ve taken care of dogs for friends and family since I was 15 and overall I can say it has been a great experience. I work two part time jobs and I’m looking to fill in the gaps in between my schedule and also work some hours on the weekend. I’m offering walks and drop ins in between the mornings and evenings. I love communicating with owners on how to take care of their pets the more I know the better care and experience your pet will have. I like sending updates and cute pictures of them just a heads up! I do require a quick meet and greet to discuss any behaviors or preferences I should be on the lookout for. Also I like to ensure it’s a great match if you have any questions or need special accommodations don’t hesitate to ask I’m open to some requests depending on my availability. Hope to meet you soon!
“Elliot and Jackson are truly amazing dog sitters. They took the time to get to know our two mini schnauzers (one being a nervous rescue) prior to the visit. Communication was excellent during the pet sitting and I felt confident that my dogs were being well cared for. They even got some kisses from my rescue boy, which doesn’t happen often. I would highly recommend them.”

“Kelly was such a great caretaker for our babies and our house! She is so patient and loving; she took excellent care of everyone; and she gave us frequent photos and updates while staying at our house. We will absolutely ask her to care for our pets again!”

“Trisha graciously watched my 2 older dogs at the last minute in my home. She was an amazing houseguest, and was incredible with my visually impaired dog who requires various daily medications. My other grumpy dog took to Trisha immediately, which is remarkable as he can be stingy with his affection. Thank you Trisha and we all look forward to seeing you again soon.❤️”

About: Hi, my name is Siouxsie and I am a twenty-seven year old Art teacher with a HUGE heart for the outdoors. Also a libra baby and one of the biggest animal lovers on the entire planet. From furry, to scaly, to feathery, you name it, I love them. I have had about a 3 years and a half of experience working with small to large dogs, that is including dog-walking to daycare and dog-sitting as well. I myself am a dog-owner, I have had my soul dog, for fifteen years up until we had to say our goodbyes and he departed to the rainbow bridge but still my love for dogs continues to grow immensely! I have a new friend at home, his name is Kylo! But, I hope you will allow me to spend some time with your four-legged friend or friends even. Thanks! :) I am currently off-season with my teaching job with plenty of morning/afternoon/evening time to dog-sit and drop-in on your lovely pet! Walks too! Don’t hesitate to reach out and ask if I am available :~) I will gladly respond in an efficient time manner and spend whatever time I have with your furry friend !! I live in an average-sized house with plenty of fenced-in yard space! I also have a furry friend of my own who is two years old and has the energy of a puppy, who would love to spend as much time as I would with your pet :~)
“Brianna was amazing! All animals seemed happy and well taken care of! Will definitely be using her in the future and would recommend to family friends and anyone looking for a pet sitter !”

“I feel so comfortable working with Melanie and Anthony. They seem to know how to make the pup and the parent feel relaxed. My pup definitely seemed relaxed and happy. Great sitters!!”

About: Hi I’m Jess! I have been an animal lover my whole life and saw Rover as a wonderful opportunity to meet some cute little friends and help make some extra money to help me out. Pets have always had a special place in my heart and I would love to meet some of yours! I have had many animals throughout my life from various types of fish, bearded dragon, hamsters, guinea pigs, a small dog (shitzu- Maltese who just passed away last year at 16 years old), a bird Connie (sun conure - 10 years old) and 2 cats Jack and Jill (13 years old). Many friends and family have trusted me to care for and love their pets when they need a little extra help. I am a very reliable and loving pet sitter with a pretty open schedule. I am currently working remotely so if you have reliable wifi I can work from your house while caring for your animals. I live in Babylon, but am open to helping out on most of the island if it’s a good fit. I am willing to travel to the city for longer/over night stays as well. Whether you need me for daily dog walks/ feedings, or want to take a nice vacation but need your animals and house looked after - I am your girl. Please let me know if you have any questions or special requests and I will do my best to help you out! I am currently unemployed and looking for a new job after the summer is over so my schedule is pretty free. I primarily live in Babylon, but my spend more than half of my week normally in Long Beach with at my boyfriends house because I play volleyball and have a lot of friends here! So I am open to helping in any nearby neighborhoods. I grew up with many different animals and always treated them with love and affection. I will make sure they are walked on time, get some play/active time, and of course always have food and water. Anything that will make the client and the pet happy :)
About: I am available to sit both cats and dogs. I know how hard it is to leave your fur babies when you are out of town. Cats and dogs have their routines that help to keep them feeling safe and secure. While you are unable to care for your pet for whatever reason, I can visit them and provide excellent care for them. This will help to give you piece of mind knowing that they are well cared for, and not too lonely while your not home. I have 2 cats of my own, and a dog. I have loved and cared for animals my entire life, and will treat yours like my very own. I used to volunteer and the North Shore Animal League taking shelter dogs for much needed walks. I enjoyed it just as much as they did!! I’m highly responsible and love to care for all animals.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred North Bay Shore walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in North Bay Shore maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Bay Shore choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
