About: Hi I’m Jess! I have been an animal lover my whole life and saw Rover as a wonderful opportunity to meet some cute little friends and help make some extra money to help me out. Pets have always had a special place in my heart and I would love to meet some of yours! I have had many animals throughout my life from various types of fish, bearded dragon, hamsters, guinea pigs, a small dog (shitzu- Maltese who just passed away last year at 16 years old), a bird Connie (sun conure - 10 years old) and 2 cats Jack and Jill (13 years old). Many friends and family have trusted me to care for and love their pets when they need a little extra help. I am a very reliable and loving pet sitter with a pretty open schedule. I am currently working remotely so if you have reliable wifi I can work from your house while caring for your animals. I live in Babylon, but am open to helping out on most of the island if it’s a good fit. I am willing to travel to the city for longer/over night stays as well. Whether you need me for daily dog walks/ feedings, or want to take a nice vacation but need your animals and house looked after - I am your girl. I am currently unemployed and looking for a new job after the summer is over so my schedule is pretty free. About: I grew up with a white retriever named Daisy for 13 years until she passed away. I currently have 2 cats, and I have 3 guinea pigs! I adore all types of animals and I love giving them hugs and kisses! I will make sure that I will always be on time and keep the house as clean as you left it! For the month of October, daytime requests are better for me because I am a scare actor at a haunted house most evenings! I work another job during the day certain days but the shifts are not long! I will always have my eye on your pet at all times. I believe that trust between a human and an animal is something that is developed over time, and I will make sure that I will be respectful of your pets boundaries and make sure that stay as safe as possible.

About: Hello! My name is Riley, I’m 25 years old, and I have lived and cared for animals for 18+ years. I had a golden retriever who has passed, and I have two cats Charlie and Nyla, whom I adore and love to play/take care of! I have experience walking small and big dogs and hyperactive furry friends. Growing up, I would walk my neighbor's dogs multiple times a week and spend time at their houses while they were on vacation. I can also work with other types of animals as well if need be! I am flexible. I’m currently a barista, so I have a flexible work schedule! Most of the time I’d like a couple of days in advance notice, however if it’s last minute, please feel free to contact me about dropping in! Weekends available as well. When my family dog was still alive, we would feed her early in the am and let her out. We'd feed her again mid-day and once more at night. We would walk her once a day and play with her outside for a chunk of time. As for my cats, we would feed them wet food morning and night and some dry food mid-day. Litter box cleaning would occur a couple of times a week and playtime, was basically all the time!

Growing up in a ranch-style home, we had dogs of many different breeds, sizes, and personalities, so caring for them has always been a natural part of my life. I’ve also had dogs of my own since I was around 14 and have cared for them through every stage of life, from playful younger years to their senior years. Because of that, I’m comfortable with different temperaments, routines, energy levels, and the extra patience older dogs may need. I truly enjoy being around dogs and would care for your pet with the same attention and affection I give my own. I work during the week, but I’m available before and after work, in the evenings, and on weekends. I’m happy to work around your pet’s usual routine for walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always follow the owner’s instructions carefully. About: I’ve taken care of animals my whole life! When I was 10 I had a puppy and have volunteered at animal shelters throughout high school. I can assure you I will take great care of your animals with all the love in my heart. I’m currently working part time, so I have a lot of time this summer! Typically, I work Tuesdays from 11am-4pm and the evening/night of weekends. My availability varies depending on my weekly schedule. I’m definitely a fan of walks and playtime! About: We are a family of four, we love all animals. I have worked as a vet assistant for over 9 1/2 years, I have worked with many rescues including rottie rescues and pit bull rescues. About my yard grass backyard fully fenced for lots of playtime and also can be hand walked if they need extra exercise. We also live near the park so they can play there too. I'm a wildlife biologist, and I've spent most of my life taking care of animals — in a veterinary setting, on wildlife conservation projects, and growing up in my own home with my family pets. I work as a full-time biologist during the spring/summer, and will have open availability over the fall, winter, and spring to help with your pet care needs! I started out as a kennel technician at a veterinary hospital, where my days were cleaning dog kennels and cat cages, feeding and watering, walking dogs, giving oral and topical medications, holding animals for exams, and keeping daily records on everyone in our care. This job is where I learned how to understand an animal’s body language, and how to adjust my own to make sure they feel safe. Since then I've graduated from university and have worked as a field biologist for state and federal agencies, most recently monitoring endangered shorebirds at Jones Beach State Park here on Long Island. Along the way I provided daily care and feeding for state-owned horses in Oregon, and I've handled, banded, and released wild birds across four different groups — songbirds, raptors, waterfowl, and doves. If you have a bird and you get nervous about leaving them, let’s chat. I’d be happy to care for any feathered family members! At home I've kept lizards, snakes, birds, and aquariums of my own, so I'm comfortable with things like heat gradients and UVB, humidity, feeding schedules that aren't daily, and water parameters and filtration. Before the first visit I do a free meet-and-greet. I want to see where everything lives — food, leash, litter, carrier, cleaning supplies — and I write the routine down rather than trusting my memory: feeding times and amounts, medications, which treats are allowed, how your dog behaves on a walk, and anything that frightens them. I also want your vet's name and number and a backup contact before I'm ever in the house alone. The thing I'm most careful about is doors. I come and go deliberately, I know where every animal is before I open anything, and I never leave a door propped. Dogs stay leashed the entire time they're outside with me, with no off-leash exceptions unless you've asked for it specifically. I give Medication exactly as written, at the time you've specified, and I confirm each dose with you. I don't adjust a dose or skip one because an animal is being difficult — I'll message you instead. Following written protocols precisely is most of what my professional work has been, in a veterinary hospital and in the field, and I treat your instructions the same way. I pay attention and I report: appetite, water, litter box or bathroom habits, energy, and anything that looks off. If something seems wrong I'll contact you right away. If it looks like an emergency and I can't reach you, I'll get your pet to your vet or the nearest emergency clinic and keep calling. And I look after the house. I clean up after your pet and after myself, I keep your keys and door codes private, I don't bring anyone with me, and I leave the place better than I found it. You'll get photos and a short real update after every visit. I also welcome any feedback, as that helps me do a better job in the future!
