Marcela has been an absolute gem when it comes to walking my dog! She’s reliable, punctual, and truly cares about the pets she works with. My pup adores her and always comes back from their walks happy and well-exercised. I really appreciate the updates and photos she sends—they give me peace of mind knowing my dog is in such good hands. Marcela goes above and beyond, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving dog walker!

We had them go several times a day over a long holiday weekend to feed, walk and play with our golden retriever. They were really great with photo updates and our dog looked so comfortable with them! Very dog loving people

About: I have been very passionate about animals and the environment since I was 3 years old! I grew up around so many animals and it encouraged me to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. At a very young age I was introduced the opportunity to petsit for dogs and cats/kittens in my family. Later around 8 years ago I was able to start working in a more professional manner and cared for not only cats, kittens, and dogs but birds, different reptiles, and some aquatic pets! All these experiences are amazing and they just motivate my love and passion for animals. I have worked with pets of all ages as well as many with special diets and medications. Aside from my experience, I am a very energetic person! I love to go on hikes, runs, bikes, you name it! You can rest assured that your fur babies will get all the love, care, and enjoyment with me! I am an undergraduate student and I am currently a vet technician/assistant practicing with a couple clinica , which allows me plenty of time to care for your lovely fur babies! My availability is very flexible right now. I do have a large fenced yard! I have 1 energetic doggie named Milo and 2 cats named Blue and Maya Papaya. Milo does have social anxiety, so I will keep separate in order for both parties to feel comfortable. And for my cats they are very soft, kind, and friendly with everyone including dogs. You can rest assured that your baby is in great hands, as my top priority is their trust, comfort, and health!

About: I truly treat every pet like they’re my own. I have hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals including dogs, cats, and more, so I’m very comfortable with different personalities, routines, and needs. I’m especially attentive to small details — like changes in behavior, appetite, or mood — so I can make sure your pet stays happy and healthy while you’re away. I have experience with energetic dogs who need structured walks and patience, as well as more sensitive or anxious pets who need a calm, gentle approach. I’m also comfortable caring for multiple pets at once and maintaining clean, safe environments (including litter boxes, cages, and feeding areas). What really sets me apart is the level of care and attention I give — I don’t just “watch” pets, I bond with them. I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos so you can feel completely at ease knowing your pet is in loving, reliable hands. Pet care is a big part of my everyday routine. I care for multiple animals at home, including dogs and cats, so I’m used to staying on a consistent schedule for feeding, cleaning, and giving each pet attention. I make time daily for walks, playtime, and bonding, and I’m very attentive to their behavior and needs. Caring for animals isn’t something I do occasionally—it’s part of my lifestyle, and I truly enjoy making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I always prioritize keeping their routine as consistent as possible so they feel comfortable and stress-free. I follow all instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walks, medications if needed, and any specific preferences. I make sure pets have a clean, safe environment, plenty of attention, and regular potty breaks or exercise depending on their needs. I’m very attentive to behavior and will quickly notice if something seems off. I also keep owners updated with messages and photos so they feel reassured while they’re away. Whether I’m in my home or theirs, I treat every pet like my own and focus on making them feel safe, loved, and well cared for.

About: I truly mean it when I say I am an animal lover to my core! I have a Goldie and I also have 2 cats who are very comfortable with dogs and other cats. I have been around pets my entire life and I love all animals - happy to spend my time with your furry family working on training and giving lots of love! I am available for walks, check-ins, and overnights. Murphy and I walk all day every day, so long walks have become my favorite pass time. I am also able to administer any medications that may be needed and can assist with most medical conditions. Thank you for putting your trust in me! 🐶🐾 I work full time but I have a flexible schedule. I am remote and can be available for walks/ check-ins/overnights when needed. I am also happy to house sit when needed! I think how I care for the pets is up to the owner! Sometimes owners prefer to keep their animals separate from mine/prefer me to be at their house. Sometimes they prefer me to be very hands on/ sometimes not. Animals will be happy and healthy in my care no matter what the request :)

About: Hi my name is Jen. I am a huge animal lover. I’ve been a dog and cat owner most of my life. Ive also being the proud owner of ferrets, guinea pigs, rabbits and fish. I currently have 2 amazing kitties (2 and 3 yr old) my beloved yorkie passed away last year at the age of 15 from renal failure, she fought for over 2 yrs, my brave little girl. I’ve cared for dogs from 5lbs to 140lbs. I have a lot of patience with animals and treat them as my own. Children and pets are the precious family members who need TLC, which is why I spent most of my adult life in a career caring for both. It is so hard to trust someone to care for your pets while you are away, but be rest assured that you will feel comfortable and at ease with me. Your pet will be cared for as if they are my own. Please reach out if you ever need help w caring for your fur babies 💕 I am currently doing pet care daily, as this is my livelihood. I have some flexibility so pls reach out if you need me to care for your fur baby. I have a lot of experience and great references. Whatever u need pls know your pet is in safe hands. I’m extra cautious when it comes to caring for your fur baby. I make sure all gates are shut before letting them outside. I will let them out to make sure they do their business and play w them as well. If u need me to walk them I will leash them securely and make sure to not have any other dogs come too close unless told otherwise. Leaving your home, I am extremely careful making sure your pets do not slip out the door.

About: Dog walking is something I love to do. I take my dog (a boisterous standard schnauzer with quite the mind of his own!) on a walk everyday and love to help others out by giving their pup some exercise! I know that all dogs are unique, so I will take great care to make sure that I follow any instructions given and make this a great experience for the dog. I am good at reading a dog’s body language and know techniques to help calm a dog down if it gets overstimulated and will take necessary steps to ensure the dog’s comfort. I also know my way around the neighborhood, and can take the pup to new and exciting places (within the owners comfort level of course!) so they have a great time! As a recent college graduate, I have a very flexible schedule with ample time to dedicate to taking care of pets. I usually do morning and evening walks (as to avoid too high temperatures) and throughout the day can provide general pet care. I have a large, fenced in yard that pups can run freely in with my own dog. There is also a pool that they can use (under strict supervision of course!) and they have free access to all areas inside the house. We are also conscientious about making sure there are no dangerous things lying around (eg. socks, small items) that the dog can get to.

About: I bring a calm, reliable presence and genuine love for animals. I’m experienced with both puppies and senior pets, including reinforcing training, maintaining routines, and providing gentle support for older pets who need extra care. I’m detail‑oriented, safety‑focused, and communicate clearly so owners always feel informed and confident. Every pet is treated with patience, respect, and the same care I’d want for my own. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I plan my days around consistency. I’m comfortable with early mornings, scheduled walks, feeding times, and regular check‑ins. I treat each visit as a priority, making sure every pet gets dependable care and attention throughout the week. When I care for pets in my home or a client’s home, I focus on creating a safe, calm, and predictable environment. I follow each pet’s routine exactly as outlined — feeding times, walks, play, training reinforcement, and any medication needs. I take time to understand their personality, comfort level, and energy so I can adapt my approach and help them feel secure. For puppies, I reinforce the basics: crate routines, potty breaks, consistent schedules, and positive training habits. For senior pets, I’m patient and gentle, offering slow walks, mobility support, and medication reminders. No matter the age, I keep communication open with owners through updates, photos, and honest check‑ins so they always feel confident and informed.

About: Dogs, cats and helping people all make me happy. I’ve lived with at least one dog since I was 4 years old after adopting our first family dog from the north shore animal league. I’ve had 3 years of fostering experience for the queens ASPCA where my aunt volunteered. I rehabbed overweight dogs and sick dogs into shape and health to be adopted to their forever homes. We had 2 foster failures our bond was so strong we had to keep. I currently have 3 dogs and one cat all rescues. I always form an immediate bond with any pet I meet and promise to take care of your pet like they are my own. I understand the hesitation in trusting others with your pets and proudly guarantee the best care possible. I am gladly available weekdays both mornings and afternoons as well as anytime needed on the weekends and/or holidays. I do work a full time job second shift 3pm -11pm Monday through Friday excluding holidays. I work in Hicksville for the school district doing security. I’ve found and saved several lost dogs and wild animals throughout the neighborhood over the past 9 plus years. Easily my favorite part of the job. I love to serve the community by helping others. I care as much about stray or random animals as I do my own pets. Seeing a dog or cat in public is easily the highlight of my day. I like to get down and meet dogs at their level to gain their trust and show I am not s threat. I am a good listener and will follow all orders given to take care of someone’s pet and do whatever is best for any animal in my care.

About: Hi there! I’m Sofía, a 22-year-old college senior with over 12 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages and breeds. I’m currently studying a holistic approach to health and preparing to begin acupuncture school. My passion for wellness and compassion extends beyond people—animals have always been a huge part of my life. I’ve grown up with dogs, worked at kennels, and understand just how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with your furry family member. What sets me apart? I approach pet care with love, patience, and respect. I have experience caring for senior dogs, managing medications, and supporting pets with anxiety or special needs. I also enjoy helping with puppy routines—house training, leash training, and socialization. Whether your pup needs active playtime, gentle companionship, or just someone who “gets it,” I’ve got you covered. I know how nerve-wracking it can be to leave your pet in someone else’s care. When I’m with your pet, my goal is to make sure they feel safe, loved, and right at home. Looking forward to meeting you and your fur baby! I’m currently available all summer for pet sitting, including weekdays and weekends! Whether you need daily visits, overnight care, or extended stays, I have a flexible schedule and can accommodate your pet’s needs. I have a gated backyard with space to run and have two friendly beagles that love to play. If it’s nice out I like to take them on walks and to the park which they can all play

  • 96% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
