“Delmy and her daughter were great! They sent photos and videos constantly. Her house was clean and she even let me come and meet her before I even booked. It was very comforting knowing she wanted me to feel comfortable leaving my Remi with her. Thank you so much!”

About: In this past year I’ve been caring for a friends 3 legged dog. She needs extra loving, patience and care that I’m fully able to provide to her and others. My weekends are always open. I’m able to accept last minute requests as well. I’ll work around your schedule. Please reach out to me with any questions! I don’t have any pets, so I’m able to give yours my full attention. I do have a teenager that might come along for a walk, just a heads up.
“What a lovely family. They took such wonderful care of my Blossom. Diana sent me photos throughout Blossom’s stay that left me feeling like I made a good decision leaving her with them. Thank you so much. I know who to call for my next vacation.”

“Jinay was phenomenal! She took such good care of my baby. She sent me daily updates of her and was always a text away. Majin was very happy under her care, and I could see that in the photos and videos that I got. This is my first time leaving my dog alone and I was a little bit nervous but Jinay did an amazing job reassuring me that my fur baby was good and in excellent conditions!”

“Dawn watched Pearl, our 16 month old Hungarian Puli, for 2 days. This was Pearl's first stay away from home without us. After our Meet and Greet when I brought Pearl back to Dawn's to stay, Pearl was very happy to go into the house. Dawn took very good care of Pearl and sent us photos of her even though Pearl is a bit "camera shy". When we picked Pearl up she seemed happy to see us but sad to leave Dawn. Dawn made this first experience great for dog and owners alike”

“I wish I could give Patrick and Karyn a 100 Star review!! We weren’t sure if our dogs were gonna want to come home! They received so much love and attention while they were in their home. I looked forward to our morning check ins with pictures from the day before of all of the adventures they had. We can’t wait for the opportunity to rebook with them so our pups can play with their new friend Levi and their new human friends as well.”

“I was nervous to board my puppy for the first time. Marcia created a warm and caring environment for Sterling from the beginning. She sent me pictures each day and consistently reassured me he was doing well. My puppy was sad to leave! Highly reccomend her! I will be using again for sure?”

About: As a graduate student pursuing a doctorate in Physical Therapy, I am responsible, attentive, and highly dependable. I understand that every pet has unique needs, whether that means keeping up with an energetic puppy, providing extra patience and support for a senior pet, or making sure anxious pets feel comfortable and safe. I am committed to treating every pet as if they were my own and keeping owners updated with photos and messages so they can have peace of mind while they're away. I have been around dogs my whole life especially Rotties and Labs!:) !!!On break!!! - FULL availability all day right now! As a graduate student, my schedule is very consistent and predictable. I typically have class from about 8:30/10:30 AM until 2:30 PM, with breaks throughout the day that allow me to come home or stop by for potty breaks, walks, feeding, and check ins as needed. I am also home by around 3:00 PM every day, which allows me to spend the rest of the afternoon and evening providing attentive care, exercise, playtime, and companionship. Whether I am caring for pets in my home or in a client's home, my priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and maintain their normal routine. At my home, pets have access to a fully fenced-in yard for supervised outdoor time, exercise, and play. I provide regular walks, feeding, potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of attention based on each pet's individual needs. I live very close to my campus which gives me access to get home as quickly as 2 minutes for just incase purposes

“Emma was fantastic. This was my first experience leaving my 4 month old golden. My golden is young and full of energy, the sitter needs to be special and Emma certainly was. I highly recommend Emma and will ask her again in the future.”

“Yaina was INCREDIBLE!!! First time I used her for my 2 dogs and hopefully not the last! Her dog, Boston, is sweet as pie and she took such great care of my dogs while I was gone for 11 days. Many many pics were received. She really cares about dogs, her house is spotless and yard completely fenced in and very save. Loved having her care for my babies! Thank you Y and J!”
“We couldn't be happier with Melissa. She took such amazing care of Sparky and kept us updated with great photos. Highly recommend to anyone looking for care and attentive sitter.”

“We are so grateful to Catherine for the loving care she took of our Georgia. It was the first time we left her since we adopted her and we could not have asked for a better experience. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Smithtown
John was wonderful with our dog Missy during her 5-day stay! I felt completely comfortable knowing she was in such good hands. John sent me pictures and sweet updates every day, which I really appreciated and looked forward to. Missy also had a great time playing with John’s dog, Laverne — her new furry friend! 🐾❤️ It was clear that Missy was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I wouldn’t hesitate to have John watch her again and would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter. Thank you, John (and Laverne!) for taking such great care of my girl!

Kristen was absolutely wonderful. We had never left our dogs with a sitter before, but Kristen took care of our girls as well as we could. Peace of mind cannot be bought at any price but Kristen’s love of animals enabled us to enjoy our vacation without worry. One million stars!
Naomi was great! Normally I wouldn’t book with a sitter so new to Rover but when we met her and learned she works at a Vet’s office, we felt a lot comfort and had complete trust in her. We would 100% book again and recommend her to anybody. She updated us about 3 times per day (with pics) and she even gave our little guys a complimentary bath. Beautiful property she lives on as well!

Our doggos took an instant liking to Kyla, whom from this first instance of contact was so incredibly polished and professional and really helped put us at ease. She sent is pictures for updates and answered all of our questions. We will definitely be repeats, our dogs had a superb time and hardly missed us at all

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
