About: I've always been an animal lover and grew up in Suffolk county caring dogs, chickens, quail and rodents! I'm the go-to pet care person for my friends and family and would love the opportunity to care for your pets! I'm a former volunteer of Save-A-Pet in Port Jeff Station where I cared for dozens of cats every weekend. I have experience with animals of all ages. I am comfortable dispensing medication for aging or ill pets. I've also cared for puppies and have even assisted in delivering a litter of goldendoodles! My pets are always a part of the family and I'd treat yours the same way! I'm currently a contractor worker for animation and advertising. Because my work is project and delivery based my schedule is flexible. I care for pets during the day and do my contract work in the late evenings so I'll have plenty of time to devote to your pets. I treat all animals with the care I would show to my own pets. I take care instructions seriously and respect each animals needs and preferences to ensure their comfort and safety.
“Samantha was great! We had our sitter back out at the last second and she was able to help out! She got back to us very quickly and is a great communicator. One of our cats is very shy and we were worried about him not eating with a new person in the house but he actually felt comfortable and came out to eat with her there! Will definitely be using her again :)”
“Jordan was very professional and took very good care of our timid, difficult cat. We felt very comfortable leaving her in Jordan’s care. Jordan went above our expectations.”

“Courtney is the first Rover.com professional we've used to drop-in visit for our cat (Stewie) while we were away. We selected Courtney based on prior customer feedback and given that she has a number of repeat clients. She was terrific in everyway possible and we will be using her for Stewie's care for all future trips. A few of Courtney's traits that make her a 5-star Rover.com professional include her reliability, her clear and consistent communication, and her obvious love for animals! From the moment we met her and introduced her to Stewie we felt confident he would be safe and happy in her care.”

“Once again Sarah went above and beyond when looking after my cats. They were well cared for and got the attention they needed. Even if Winnie tried to be elusive. Thanks again Sarah.”

“Ava was extremely thoughtful and responsible in caring for our cats. She was excellent at communicating and a pleasure to work with. I’d trust her with my pets any day.”

“I cannot recommend Claudia enough! She took incredible care of Prince my senior cat while I was away. I received regular photo updates and messages, which gave me complete peace of mind. It was clear that Prince was incredibly at ease, happy, comfortable, and treated just like family. Claudia is professional, highly responsive, and deeply caring. I will absolutely be booking with her again in the future! This was our first time leaving Prince and thankfully Claudia was very accommodating and readily available.”

“Beth was amazing with my cat, Ellie! She was attentive to her needs, played with her, sent cute pictures while I was away, and made sure Ellie was fed and happy. Beth is a very kind lady and my cat loved her!”

“This was our first time using Rover. Our sitter Felicia was wonderful!! We received so many wonderful pictures and updates for every visit. I know my Girl Olive was in great hands!!!!”

“Kimberly is amazing with our 5 month old puppy!!! She has been sitting for her for an hour twice a day and our puppy loves her! She’s also amazing about not reinforcing unwanted behaviors like jumping and she made a point to ask me what tricks our puppy knows so she can practice them with her too. Our puppy is not fully potty trained and needs to sometimes be reminded to go potty but Kimberly makes sure to have her go and she has not had any accidents. She also keeps me posted if things come up during the visit (like a lost tooth!) which I really appreciate. I could not be happier with how everything is going”

“We had a short notice need for a sitter for “the girls”, Peaches & Reagan, and Emma and Trent responded promptly and were able to accommodate our schedule. It is so nice being able to count on someone and have “the girls” get so excited when they see them. Reagan for the extra attention and Peaches for an opportunity to get treats. LOL Dont hesitate if you need someone to watch your fur babies. They will be safe and and well taken care of. Thanks again Emma & Trent!”

About: I have been an animal lover ever since I was a child! I love all animals and will feed any stray that comes to my door as well! I will care for and treat your pets as if they were my own. I work from home so I am available to take care of your babies while you are at work, out of the house or away on vacation I have a large fenced in yard, I love to go on walks and am responsible and respectful when in other peoples homes. I will care for your animals with as much love and care as you would. I will follow your pets routine and care for them as my own.
About: Since I was 4 years old we had dogs at home, a boxer mix and a poodle. Later on when I was 15 my mom got a pug, and then another one while my sister got a big pit mix with special needs. And 7 years ago I adopted a dog of my own, a 60lb hound mix, who's the light of my day. I've walked all the dogs in my family, and taken care of them when needed. With my own dog, I do everything for him, from baths, playtime, walks, roadtrips, cuddle and I love him, his medical care is up to date and I always make sure he's happy and healthy. I've also watched over friends dogs and cats, and follow all the rules I've been given, every dog ans cat is different and unique and deserves the same respect and care. I am available weekdays after 5:30pm (except for Tuesdays) Weekends I'm usually available, I can be flexible with my plans. I do update my schedule regularly. I cannot dog sit in my home. But I will love to walk your dog(s) in your neighborhood, take them on a hike, take them on drives, as well as staying over for a few hours. I'll follow your rules with no problem and I'll give my outmust attention, respect and love to your dog(s). Meet and greets would be preferable. As well as letting me know of any health or behavioral concerns your dog(s) might have so I can give individualized care.
About: My background in canine care began at the Little Shelter Animal Adoption Center in Huntington, NY in 2008. I was employed there for several years as a dog walker and socializer, working with a wide variety of dogs and puppies from many different walks of life. All of the dogs were rescues, and so special care needed to be provided, with exercise, playtime, feeding, and even medication distribution. After working at the shelter, I found myself at a few local grooming parlors, working as a bather. As you've probably experienced, most dogs do not love being bathed and groomed, and so I would try my very best to make them comfortable in the unfamiliar situation they were in, taking the time to check in on them frequently and give them lots of reassurance and loving. Patience goes a long way! In January of 2015 I had my first two-month long house and pet sitting job. However, since then I've been working a full time office job and have been unable to enjoy much time with canine companions. I will regularly pet sit for close friends and family, but I'm ready to spend more time around furry friends! I'd love to meet you and your pup and ensure that they're properly taken care of and loved while you're out on the weekend, working, or away on vacation! I'm currently working part-time, with a very flexible schedule, so there's a good chance I'll be able to accommodate your scheduling needs! Reach out to me with any questions. I have two cats at who are cautious of other animals, so I'm happy to care for your pet in your home! I'd love to learn about your pet's routine and preferences to provide them the best care possible.

Kate took amazing care of our cats Paisley and Pepper. There litter box was clean and they where well fed. Even my outside feral cat Freddie got his food and water. I received pictures with every check in she even got Freddie. I would highly recommend Kate to any pet owner. You can trust her to give your cats the best of care. I would definitely ask for her on our next vacation.

Kelsey is great! She really takes the time to learn about your dog and know your pup before taking them out. She has a very calm energy which I think dogs can sense and like! My dog is very sensitive to people’s energies and is fearful of high energy people but Kelsey came in calm and cool and my dog loves walking with her! She provides updates and follows instructions highly recommend!!

Molly is prompt, kind and a true cat lover. She was sensitive to my needs as well as Priscilla’s. This was important to me because it was my first time having a cat sitter. She is flexible and willing to accommodate small changes in the schedule. I would definitely hire her again.

my goodness I cannot recommend Taylor enough. She was amazing with pup and just so sweet! She kept me updated during each visit with texts and photos, which was such a relief. Not only was she fantastic with caring for my dog (who is large and can be hard to handle) but she even brought him special turkey treats for thanksgiving 🥹 Having someone who I can actually trust to watch my dog is so important to me and i can absolutely trust taylor. She really treated my dog like he was her own baby, I can’t recommend her enough!!!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
