We could see from the first interaction that she would be kind to our dog, as she immediately got down and gave her hand to the dog to sniff and then pet her. She has a daughter with a sweet and gentle personality, who kindly shared her own blanket with the dog to make the dog feel more comfortable. Yessenia‘s husband was friendly and pleasant as well. Yessenia sent us multiple pictures and updates over the weekend while she watched the dog. Though we brought some supplies, she was also prepared with her own if necessary. Furthermore, since Yesenia had already experienced life with a senior dog, she offered us some suggestions that might help with our pup. Our Rusty had never been cared for by a stranger up to this point. It was hard for us to leave her. About: I have owned both cats and big and small dogs and am experienced in training, raising, and taking care of all types of dogs in various states of health and ages. I love all animals! I work part time as I am applying to masters programs right now, so I will have plenty of time for dog walks and animal drop ins! I do not offer boarding or day care at my own house because of the multiple outdoor cats and other animals (like raccoons) in my neighborhood.

I've had a dog for 10 years so I know a dogs routine! I volunteered at Cove Animal Rescue taking care of cats for a few months (as well as the 2 I have at home!). She sent a lot of updates throughout my pup's stay with her, so I was never worried or wondering what and/or how he was doing. He was super happy when I left him and was happy at pick up as well. Overall, he looked like he had a ton of fun with the other dogs & with Vanessa. 10/10 experience!”
“I am absolutely so grateful to Vanessa and her family for taking such good care of Prince. They are wonderful. I was a bit nervous because it was going to be my first time leaving Prince overnight with other dogs. I didn’t know what to expect. But they were so reassuring and very clearly so good with all types of dogs. Prince is 1.25 years old and they gave me good insight and advice about his behavior. Very communicative through the whole week. And Prince did so well with the company and had a great time!! He was surrounded by love, cuddles, and attention. Will absolutely work Vanessa and family again if they are free the next time I’m going out of town!”
