“Julia was terrific! She and Bailey hit it off right away. Got a bunch of pics with Bailey out for a walk, playing with toys and a restful night sleep. Will use Julia again!”

“Mamdouh and his family are amazing! I have used them twice so far and fully trust them with my dog. They send photos and videos daily, which reassures me my dog is having a blast!”

“Britany took good care of my dog, Bo! Bo stayed with Britany for two nights and acclimated quickly. He’s full of energy and requires multiple play sessions, which Britany was able to provide for him. This was my first time leaving my adopted dog for a weekend. I wasn’t sure if he would adapt since it took months for him to feel at ease with me. But now I feel confident leaving him with Britany in the future.”
“Kristin was so wonderful with my cat Maia! Kristin accepted my request quickly, was really friendly and sent me video and photo updates of Maia throughout the week. Maia looked really happy too! So grateful to Kristin and will be requesting her again in the future to watch Maia. Thank you Kristin!”

“Von (Vee) took excellent care of our dog Kona while we went on vacation for a week, we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. From the start, she was communicative, thoughtful, and clearly cared deeply about creating a comfortable, loving environment. Throughout the stay, she sent detailed updates along with tons of photos and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was obvious our dog was happy, well cared for, and getting plenty of attention and affection. You can tell she treats the dogs she watches like her own. We’re so grateful for the level of care she provided and would absolutely book with her again without hesitation. Highly recommend!”

“Amy and her family treated my Hailey like family. They are amazing. She kept us updated everyday on how our puppy was adjusting and it kept us at ease. Our puppy looked so happy. Amy and her family took her on walks and gave her all the attention she needed. I will definitely book her again without a doubt.”

“Denis was absolutely wonderful with my energetic orange boy cat! He was great at communicating every day and noting anything in terms of behavior which helped make me feel calm during the early days. Not entirely sure who’s vacation was better 🐈🤍 Would highly recommend him and will definitely be rebooking in the future!”

“I’m so lucky to have found Ruth-Ann and Brandon. I had to take a last minute trip and was worried about finding suitable accommodations for Bleu. These two were amazing and accommodating. I got lots of pics and videos Bleu during my time away. She looked happy and comfortable and that’s all I could’ve hoped for.”

“Our dog Kirk loved staying with Keoma- I got to see her walking the dogs she was watching and she is an amazing pack leader. We would definitely board Kirk with her again!”

“Adriana is a lifesaver! Recently, our dog has developed some major age-related issues. We were worried about finding a sitter who would have the knowledge and compassion necessary to watch him. Adriana was awesome. She gave our boy lots of love and went far beyond what we expected from a Rover sitter. I can't recommend her enough! She's the best !”

“Very happy with the care that my dogs had when they stayed with Ilona, in the photos they looked very happy playing with their new friends. Definitely when I need someone to take care of them I will look for Ilona again. highly recommended.”
“I've booked with Nari & Ryan several times and they are the only people I trust with my dog, superseding close friends and family . They provide photos, videos and updates without having to request them and it's always a nice surprise. It's clear that they adhere to all given instructions and ensure his safety and happiness. But the biggest indicator of their great care is how excited my dog is to see them every time. He zips in their home without giving a me a second look (sad but glad), greeting their lovely daughter who is equally as responsible. Every time, I book in hopes that they are available. Thank you Nari!”

“Glaelle did a wonderful job with Fitz. She sent pic and videos, which I loved. And most of all Fitz was happy during his stay and when I picked him up. It’s like I left him with family. Thank you so much Glaelle😃”

“This was first time boarding my dog and it was a great experience. Narly made us comfortable and made this is very easy experience. She sent me pics of my dog eating and playing daily and that really put my mind at ease. There was great communication and I appreciate her for that. I highly recommend Narly to take care of your pooch.”

“Alissa and her fiancé are very sweet & kind. Such a welcoming & safe home. They were very attentive to my dog’s needs and even with other pups that were there, they made sure mine were taken care of properly. She has a great set up to separate any feedings, go out at any time if needed. They were happy overall! I will definitely have them watch them again in the future!”

“I’m so happy I made the right choice and left my angel with Sam! She sent constant updates with pictures while we were on our vacation. My dog was very happy in each photo and was well taken care of. She even made sure she got her ear medication every day which was important. She got plenty of walks everyday and lots of playtime. I appreciate her dedication to making sure she feels at home. Zula blended in with her family seamlessly. I HIGHLY recommend Sam😊.”

“Anita was absolutely wonderful! She asked for specific details for how to care for our pup and sent update pictures every day that made it clear our dog was having a blast!”

“I had a great experience with Tina! She took the time to meet Summer on short notice before taking care of her. She sent pictures and updates twice a day and I could tell Summer had a great time. She also has a fenced backyard where Summer enjoyed playing fetch and getting her zoomies out. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter.”

We had a great experience having our 5 month old kitten stay with Suraia while we were out of town. She was a great communicator and kept us updated with pictures and updates regularly on how our kitten was doing. We felt so safe having our baby stay with her and will definitely recommend her to our friends and book with her in the future!

Elle is the best dog sitter we could ever ask for. We are so happy we found her. She loves Kiki like she was her own. Elle sends us daily pictures and communicates with us constantly. She is very good at what she does. We will be using her again in the very near future.

Princess had a wonderful stay with Ruth-Ann and Brandon! They took great care of her, and it was clear she was comfortable and well looked after from the pictures they provided. One of the things I appreciated most was that Princess had the opportunity to socialize—not only with her handlers but also, at her own pace, with some of the other dogs there. When I picked her up, she seemed happy, relaxed, and well cared for, which gave me great peace of mind. A huge Thank you to both Brandon and Ruth for providing such a welcoming environment. I wouldn’t hesitate to book them again and will highly recommend their services to others looking for caring, dependable sitters.

Gracie was phenomenal! She was incredibly communicative, kept us updated throughout our entire vacation, and took such great care of our Pepper. Knowing Pepper was in good hands gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear that she genuinely cared for her and treated her like one of her own. We are so grateful for everything she did and would absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend! 🐾💕

This was my first time leaving my cat with a boarder. Nusrat gave me peace of mind with daily and frequent updates. Our cat hasn’t been around any other cats in over a year but she reassured me that he is doing great with her two cats. I will definitely rebook with Nusrat in the future!

Lawrence is super friendly and clearly very knowledgable and experienced with cats. We knew from the start that our cat Gambit would be in good hands. He is so easy to work with, especially for first time cat parents being away for the first time. Gambit felt comfortable around him immediately and looked right at home! We truly appreciated the updates which included photos and videos as well. We were at ease traveling knowing that Gambit was safe with Lawrence. We are so grateful and highly recommend Lawrence! I know Gambit had a blast and can’t wait to be back lol

Jancid was amazing!! I strongly recommend her services. She is very genuine, and very caring when it came to welcoming my pup in her home. She went above and beyond, and took great care of my dog. She is communicative, and sent pictures and videos of him throughout the boarding experience.
An excellent experience. I was comfortable on vacation knowing my baby was in great hands. I got a picture of my Stormi☔️ everyday. She looked happy romping around the huge backyard. When I went to pick her up she wanted to stay. That’s the best sign of a great time.

This was my first time using Rover and working with this team. I am happy to say I had a great experience. I had to travel for a week and I am happy to say that all my nerves were gone when I received updates (pictures and videos) of my dog and when I constantly got immediate responses from the team through text. When I picked up Churro, he still had his spirit as if I never left. Thank you for caring for him.

Abbie and Peachy were so so sweet. I was looking for someone reliable near me and my dog Roo seemed to love her stay. Abbie has a great aura from our first meet and I felt like my dog would be safe with her. Very communicative and flexible. I will definitely be using her services again. Thank you!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
