“I had a great experience with Tina! She took the time to meet Summer on short notice before taking care of her. She sent pictures and updates twice a day and I could tell Summer had a great time. She also has a fenced backyard where Summer enjoyed playing fetch and getting her zoomies out. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter.”

“Qin En took good care of my cat Echo while I was out of town. She sent me multiple pictures/videos a day so I can enjoy my vacation while making sure my cat is doing well. She genuinely loves cats and actually any animals! 😂 highly recommend 😊”

“OMG! Vanessa is such a wonderful sitter, she made us feel so comfortable leaving our puppy baby Givi with her while we were on vacation. She kept us updated everyday with pictures and videos. We were at ease knowing he had the upmost care from Vanessa. She is amazing, such a sweet person, our baby loved her very much as well, he looked like he wanted to stay Lol. We highly recommend her to anyone who wants their baby puppy to be well cared for. We will definitely take our baby to Vanessa again. So happy we found her! We Love Her!!!!”

“Ilona and Will were AMAZING. We booked last minute over Christmas weekend and she was very responsive and available on short notice which was great! Very accommodating with drop off and pick up times, we got updates daily and the cutest pictures! She watched all three of our dogs, and they came home happy, healthy, and tired!!! We will definitely use and recommend them again!”

“We had a unique situation that lead us to Eric and he was incredibly accommodating. I forgot my dog's bed and he was able to provide one. He took great care of our shepherd and sent us several photos to show us our dog was doing just fine. Eric is a super nice guy to boot! Would highly recommend!”

About: 💠 Hello! I offer pet care for when you’re not able to be there. I am available for drop-in visits, pet sitting, pet daycare, and also pet walking (even for cats!). 🚙 I currently provide pet care services for most of the Nassau County area and some parts of Nassau-Queens border. I am also able to travel to Manhattan with added transportation coverage. I am local: Repeat services booked with me receive special accommodations & rates. 🌃 Messages that are sent after hours on Rover may be responded to on the following day. 🔹 I’m experienced with small breeds, or toy breeds, specifically Pomeranians, been around them all my life, including newborns and senior dogs who were raised starting as puppies. 🔹 Experienced with docile cat breeds, in particular Persian, Himalayan, Ragdoll, Maine Coon and other related cat breeds. 🔹 Have experience with Goldfish, Bettas and birds such as Budgies, so knowledgeable about care. 🐾 I’m intuitive and pay attention to picking up the different ways a dog or cat expresses nonverbal communication, they constantly give us cues. About Me: I own a color-point Persian cat who is 7 years old that I enjoy spoiling. I can speak Italian, enjoy gardening, art, sewing, yoga, tennis & pilates. I’m a fan of the original Twilight movie directed by Catherine Hardwicke. 🐾 I’m currently providing pet care for a King Charles Cavalier who has mobility issues and dietary restrictions, but he is such a big mush! I am also caring for a special needs 4 month old kitten who needs to be syringe-fed, given both topical & oral medication on schedule, along with helping her with using a litter box. In addition to assisting with care of a (palm-sized) rescue kitten who is less than one month old needing to be bottle fed every few hours, given antibiotic medication for her eyes and frequent cleaning with wet wipes, due to being too young to know how to use a litter box. I have found it to be extremely rewarding and willing to look after a few more furbabies within my local area. 🔹 I’m trustworthy and reliable, I would always practice good manners. Respectful of privacy when I’m in a client’s home. I make sure that when I’m with your pet, safety is an upmost priority.
“Britany was wonderful with Walter. She kept us informed of how he was doing the whole time he was with her. We felt totally comfortable leaving our fur baby with her and will definitely leave him with her again!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for about 5 years, and over that time I’ve also helped look after dogs for family and friends whenever they needed someone they could trust. I’m a very caring, patient, and detail-oriented person, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs and getting to know their different personalities. When a dog stays with me, I want them to feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for — and I want their owners to feel the same peace of mind. I always keep owners updated with lots of photos and videos, so even while you’re traveling, you’ll know your pup is getting plenty of love and attention. Caring for dogs is an important part of my daily life, and it’s something I genuinely enjoy. Right now, pet care is my full-time focus, which means I have the time, energy, and flexibility to give dogs lots of attention throughout the day. I’m also pet CPR certified, and I always do my best to provide a safe, loving, and attentive environment for every pup staying with me. I live in a clean and well-kept apartment and do our best to create a calm, safe, and comfortable environment for dogs in our care. I also have a 3-year-old Border Collie who is very sweet, gentle, and full of positive energy. He has done very well with other dogs and has enjoyed spending time and playing with them. Throughout the day, I make sure dogs get regular potty breaks, outdoor time, and time to relax and settle in comfortably at home. After coming back inside, I clean their paws to help keep them clean and comfortable while also maintaining a tidy living space. I also pay attention to brushing and overall cleanliness so dogs can feel comfortable during their stay. Most importantly, I pay close attention to each dog’s comfort level, personality, and interactions to help maintain a safe and positive environment for everyone.
“Adriana was such a savior for us this past week, she took great care of our little friends. Sent us pics everyday ensuring that they were being treated great and happy and around loving energy. We will definitely be going back to Adriana in the future.”

“Dan and her partner were absolutely amazing! We got daily doses of photos, videos, and updates on how Bowie was doing. It was clear he was walked, well fed, and cared for. They were attentive, detail oriented, and so flexible to early drop off and some last minute changes on our end. I cannot recommend them enough and will definitely be booking with them again.”

“Aritra is a standup, and professional individual. There was not a single time when I was away that I was worried because Aritra went above and beyond in keeping me posted about Kobe’s over night stay. It more of a doggie vacation Vs a overnight boarding. Highly recommend!!!”

“This was my first time ever using Rover and I couldn’t be happier. Vanessa was great and took really good care of my dog Jax. I could tell he was very happy when he was there especially when he was playing with Oreo and Moreno!! Vanessa is a great and trustworthy person and definitely will be going thru her again 😊”

“Amy and her Family were wonderful with Rocky! The updates and pictures made us feel reassured that we chose the right person to watch our little rocky. Will definitely book again!”

“John is caring, reliable, and super responsive. What more can I say? Our terrier has been in very good hands with him--for two separate overnights as well as a seven-day stay.”

“Jonalynn was awesome and came in clutch for a last minute booking with my Bully/Pit mix. She was awesome. My dog Bleu loved his stay and has been sad since leaving her.”

I was looking for a last minute dog sitter and was so relieved to come across Aritra. Seeing that he had over 200 five star reviews immediately gave me confidence that Max would be in great hands. From the very beginning, Aritra was incredibly responsive to every text message and phone call. He even took the time to schedule a video call and a meet and greet before I booked, which made me feel even more comfortable leaving my standard poodle, Max, in his care. Throughout Max’s stay, Aritra kept me updated with videos and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear that Max was happy, well cared for, and enjoying his time with him. I highly recommend Aritra to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable dog sitter. I will absolutely be booking with him again for Max!
Lawrence is super friendly and clearly very knowledgable and experienced with cats. We knew from the start that our cat Gambit would be in good hands. He is so easy to work with, especially for first time cat parents being away for the first time. Gambit felt comfortable around him immediately and looked right at home! We truly appreciated the updates which included photos and videos as well. We were at ease traveling knowing that Gambit was safe with Lawrence. We are so grateful and highly recommend Lawrence! I know Gambit had a blast and can’t wait to be back lol

Katelyn and Daniel are absolutely amazing! They really saved the day! To cut a long story short, my original dog sitter, whom I had booked months in advance for my trip, canceled on Leela at the last minute. When she met Leela, she said Leela was barking too much and that her apartment situation wasn't suitable for a vocal dog like Leela. My husband and I rushed to find another sitter and found Katelyn. We reached out to her about our upcoming trip and asked if they could take care of Leela for a week. We were completely honest with them about Leela’s behavior and boarding requirements, and they were incredibly understanding and accommodating. They met Leela and inquired about any specific concerns or instructions I had for her care. Katelyn and Daniel really put my mind at ease while my husband and I were away. We received daily updates from them, and Leela really took a liking to them, which was a pleasant surprise since she can be quite picky about who she likes. Katelyn and Daniel are genuinely nice, responsible, and caring individuals. I will definitely be reaching out to Katelyn and Daniel again!

Abbie and Peachy were so so sweet. I was looking for someone reliable near me and my dog Roo seemed to love her stay. Abbie has a great aura from our first meet and I felt like my dog would be safe with her. Very communicative and flexible. I will definitely be using her services again. Thank you!

Nari and Ryan were absolutely wonderful with Candy! They sent multiple photos throughout the day so we always knew how she was doing, which honestly made such a difference. They took her on multiple walks and even gave her a bath, which was such a sweet bonus we weren't expecting. Candy came back home happy, calm, and clearly well-loved. Will 100% be booking with them again!

We felt very comfortable leaving our puppy with Shan. Her and her family clearly love dogs and sent us many pictures and videos throughout the stay. Our puppy seemed well adjusted when we picked him back up! We plan to have our puppy stay with Shan again when we need a sitter for our fur baby.

Piper and Juno had a fantastic week being cared for by Lisa and Gracie, Juno’s new best friend! Both our dogs were cared for like family, and Lisa shared many pictures and kept us up-to-date throughout the week. We were able to enjoy our vacation, knowing that they were both happy and loved and in great hands. A very kind family to take care of our loved ones.!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
