“Shibo was absolutely amazing! I have two male cats, and one of them I had just adopted 10 days before leaving for my trip. He was very skittish when I first got him, but he warmed up to Shibo right away. My other cat took a liking to him immediately as well—who wouldn’t! Shibo was so wonderful, giving my cats the attention they needed while I was away. In the past, I relied on neighbors and people just stopping by to feed and check on them, but my experience with Shibo has completely changed my perspective. It is worth every penny to have someone as great as him looking after your fur babies! About: Hello! My name is Julissa. I have so much love for all pets and animals. Growing up, i’ve always had a dog in the house, and they were always such an important member of our family. It’s been about five years since I’ve had a dog of my own. My last dog’s name was Sasha. We adopted her when she was six and had her until she was about thirteen. She was so smart, loving, and anxious when we first got her so our first few years together were spent establishing trust. Eventually we managed to off-leash train and we worked a lot on her recall so that we could enjoy longer walks and outdoor activities while ensuring that she always felt safe in her environment. At home we set her bed up in the kitchen, where we would pass our time cooking and spending a lot of quality time together. I had so many good years with my Sasha, and since she passed I have genuinely missed spending time with animals on a consistent basis. Since then, most if not all of my friends and family have entrusted me with taking care of their animals when they are busy or traveling, so I’ve had a lot of experience with many different pets and their varying needs/personalities. I work freelance as an artist. I am a musician, so I often stay at home practicing or composing. However most of my work is in the film industry, and this work ranges from smaller independent projects to network television. Although I do work on set sometimes, I try to take on as many post-production gigs as possible, so I often find myself sitting behind a desk all day. I have always made it a priority to work in a field that I am passionate about, and my decision to work with Rover has been no different. Caring for animals is not only something I am passionate about, but also a wonderful opportunity to go on walks and spend quality time with pets. About: I have 4 years of experience volunteering at an animal shelter where I worked with both dogs and cats. With dogs, I have experience with all ages, ranging from 5 week old puppies to senior dogs. I have walked and played with dogs who were the most outgoing and loving dogs, as well as the more fearful ones who needed a little extra attention before opening up to me. I don't sit on my phone and call it "companionship" animals have emotions and love, and deserve to have the best of that when they're in someone else's care. About: taking care of animals has been my passion since i got my first dog at age 11. it was love at first sight. i trained and groomed her for all of her 13 years. she showed me that a dog can be more then a pet and what unconditional love is. they are pure inocense and should always be loved and protected. i have groomed and taken care of a variety of dogs. i have had many different breeds. bulldog. maltease, yorkie, labordor and german shepard. i went to school for it and got certified in grooming\pet care. i am not afraid of big dogs and i am gentle with the tiny ones. i will protect and take the very best care of your pet. i will treat them as my own.
About: If you are looking for quiet calm place without any other dog around, we are currently boarding one dog only. I am stay-at-home mom, and my husband is working at home. We have three kids, all friendly with dogs. The oldest graduated from college recently (piano teacher),9th and 6th grader. We only board one dog these days and never leave the dog at home alone. Safety is our priority and we watch and always keep company with the boarding dog.I will send you pictures and updates every day and my husband loves to play and we also love to walk at least one hour a day. My oldest son can help from time to time. My youngest son loves to play with your dog, playing tugs and throwing balls in his free time. . We had a beautiful golden retriever, Boku who died of cancer 7years ago. He taught me lots of things about dogs also helped me understand them. Since April 2022, We have so far taken care of over 50 dogs successfully, through Rover. Our home is located in a quiet neighborhood, but close to Northern Blvd, Little Neck LIRR station and trails. We have a small backyard as well. How we feed your dog: You bring your dog’s food. I’m happy to boil chicken and rice if they don’t have appetite, under your permission. We consider our furry guests as our own and respect each of their differences. And we are confident that we can provide a comfortable environment while you are away. We stay home all days (stay-home mom and work-at-home husband), so dog care fits our schedule as needed. I love to walk with dog and your dog will be center of attention, always keeping company with our family routine. Your dog can choose their favorite spot wherever they want. You can bring their bed or crate. Some like to share the couch with us. We have small backyard where we can chill out in Summer days.

About: What sets me apart is the combination of hands-on experience, professional pet care skills, and a home environment designed around each dog’s individual needs. I have about 5 years of experience caring for dogs, including dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I pay close attention to body language, comfort level, and interactions so I can recognize when a dog is relaxed, overwhelmed, or needs more personal space. Pet care is my full-time focus, and I’m both pet CPR certified and a certified groomer. This allows me to provide attentive daily care while also helping with brushing, bathing, coat care, and general cleanliness when requested. My home has a private backyard of approximately 900 square feet for supervised outdoor play and potty breaks, along with additional rooms that allow me to separate dogs based on size, temperament, energy level, or individual comfort needs. I understand that every dog has a different routine, so I do my best to accommodate feeding schedules, sleeping preferences, sensitivities, and other special instructions from parents. I also send frequent photo and video updates throughout each stay. My goal is not only to make every dog feel safe, comfortable, and cared for, but also to give parents real peace of mind while they are away. Caring for dogs is a major part of my daily life and my full-time focus. Because I have a flexible schedule, I’m able to provide consistent supervision, regular potty breaks, outdoor play, feeding, rest time, and plenty of individual attention throughout the day. I genuinely enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality and adjusting their routine so they can feel safe, comfortable, and at home during their stay. I’m pet CPR certified and also a certified groomer, so I’m comfortable providing basic coat care, brushing, bathing, and grooming services when requested. For longer boarding stays, I’m happy to include a complimentary basic bath when appropriate. For shorter stays, bathing or grooming services can be added for an additional fee. My priority is always to provide attentive, reliable, and personalized care for every dog staying with me. I live in a clean and well-kept home with a private backyard of approximately 900 square feet, giving dogs plenty of space for supervised outdoor play, potty breaks, and fresh air throughout the day. I also have additional rooms available, which allows me to separate dogs by size, energy level, or comfort needs when necessary. This helps each dog have a safe and quiet place to rest, settle in, and decompress without feeling overwhelmed. I have a 3-year-old Border Collie who is very sweet, gentle, and full of positive energy. He has done very well with other dogs and enjoys spending time and playing with them. I carefully supervise all interactions and introduce dogs gradually, while paying close attention to their body language, personality, and comfort level. I never force dogs to interact if they need more time or personal space. Throughout the day, I provide regular potty breaks, supervised backyard time, playtime, and plenty of opportunities to relax comfortably indoors. I also try to follow each dog’s normal feeding, sleeping, and daily routine as closely as possible. Sleeping arrangements can be flexible based on the owner’s preference and the dog’s needs. For dogs who are more sensitive or feel more secure near people, I can arrange for them to sleep in the same room with me. After outdoor time, I clean the dogs’ paws to help keep them comfortable and maintain a clean living environment. I also pay attention to brushing and overall cleanliness throughout their stay. My goal is to provide a safe, structured, and welcoming home where every dog receives individualized care and owners can feel confident while they are away.
