Amanda was amazing with Flint! We had a pretty last minute situation and she came through for us with no hesitation. She was super attentive, communicative, and really took initiative during her drop-ins. She noticed things, checked in with us when needed, and went above and beyond without us having to ask. I felt comfortable knowing Flint was in good hands while we were away. Definitely someone I’ll be booking again in the future. Highly recommend Amanda!

Thank you, Brianna, for taking care of my elderly cats for two weeks! Usually, when I leave them, they get upset and could pee all over and make a mess. At this time, I came back to the clean apartment, and my cats were healthy and cheerful 😻.

She provide text updates a d pictures. I would certainly book with her again!

About: Every pet deserves to feel safe, loved, and genuinely cared for—even when you’re away. That’s exactly the kind of care I provide. As a lifelong animal lover, I understand that pets are family. I share my home with my sweet 6-year-old Cavapoo and my gentle 10-year-old Scottish Fold cat, so I know firsthand how important it is to trust the person caring for your furry family members. Before joining Rover, I worked at Dogtopia, where I cared for groups of up to 20 dogs at a time. That experience taught me how to understand different personalities, recognize body language, manage dogs of all sizes and energy levels, and ensure every pup feels safe, comfortable, and happy. When I was younger, I babysat and walked dogs for relatives and neighbors. I also know that leaving your pet can be stressful for you, too. That’s why I make communication a priority. You’ll receive regular photo updates, videos, and text messages so you can see your pet enjoying their day and have peace of mind knowing they’re in loving hands. When I care for your pet, my goal is simple: I want them to feel as comfortable, happy, and loved as they do when they’re with you. I can’t wait to meet you and your four-legged family member and become someone you can count on whenever you need an extra helping hand. I am currently on summer break from college. From September 2026, I will be available to work at any time on Monday, Wednesday, Friday afternoon/evenings and Saturday and Sunday. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, belly rubs, or simply quiet companionship, I’ll tailor every visit to their unique personality and routine. I believe every pet deserves individual attention, patience, and lots of affection. That is how I am with my dog Flash and my beautiful cat, Princess Leia. Honestly, no request is too much, my dog and cat both are very particular in their ways.

About: My name is Jonathan and I am currently 30 years old, working full-time as a dog sitter and remote product designer and living in Great Neck, NY. I currently have a 8 year old golden retriever! I have always loved dogs as I grew up with a Maltese when I was in kindergarten before getting my golden. I'm also very good at training through positive reinforcement and handling medium to large breeds. I also have experience taking care of multiple dogs at the same time. Lastly, I can easily tell when dogs are in trouble or need to use the bathroom, etc. My schedule is extremely flexible so I can accommodate most requests! I wake up at 9am everyday to let my dog out for a morning potty break. We then go for a walk at noon, one at 6pm, and one more at 10pm before bed. I have a fenced in yard that is locked at all times. I will be present in the backyard anytime the dogs are there and will keep an eye on them while they play. I will be home 24/7 while your dog is with me, and will be monitored at all times.

About: Pet care experience Hi there! While I may not have a dog of my own, I've had the joy of caring for a dear French bulldog annually for almost two weeks each year. I'm always available to walk, cuddle, and shower your furry friend with love and attention. Your fur baby will be in excellent hands with me! Let me be your dog's caregiver, and they'll receive all the cuddles, playtime, and care they need. Looking forward to meeting you and your four-legged family member! 🐶💕 Welcome! Our family consists of myself, my husband, and our three wonderful kids. Though I never had a dog, my love for animals is evident through my adorable rabbit named Kruger. Nestled in a house with a spacious yard on a tranquil street, I offer a peaceful environment for your furry friend. I work from home on Fridays and have weekends off. I'm back home by 3 PM every day, ensuring your pet is surrounded by care and attention. Living on a serene and quiet street with minimal traffic, I provide an ideal haven for your beloved dog. My spacious yard offers ample room for them to play, explore, and stretch their legs. Stacie is a Godsend! We had the opportunity to take a trip to Costa Rica with just 48 hours notice. We were incredibly lucky to find Stacie: We would never have gone abroad unless we found someone great. Stacie provided us with two references, both of whom were thrilled to report she did a fantastic job with their pets: They said she was always on time, posted lots of photos and was incredibly respectful of being inside their homes when no one was around. That was actually my primary concern about hiring someone I did not know: It’s pretty difficult to leave your house keys with a stranger. But Stacie was wonderful. She was incredibly responsible. We took this trip just a few days ago (mid-January 2022) when the city was pounded with a terrible snowstorm. Despite the awful weather, Stacie kept her appointment: She told us in advance that she might be an hour or so late because the blizzard left the roads unnavigable. But, clearly, she made it a priority to check on our two beloved Birman cats: She came just a couple of hours later. I’m sure that was difficult considering the weather, but we truly appreciated it. We knew the cats would be OK in Stacie’s care. And they clearly grew to love her. We are incredibly grateful to have found her.

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life, so caring for animals has always come naturally to me. I’m currently a proud dog mom to a friendly 2 year old lab mix, and I understand how important it is to find someone you trust to care for your pet like family. Over the years, I’ve cared for many friends’ and family members’ pets through walking, feeding, playtime, overnight care, and sticking to each pet’s unique routine. As a teacher, I’m patient, dependable, attentive, and great at reading behavior and energy levels, skills that translate perfectly to pet care. I’m comfortable with energetic young dogs who need exercise and structure, as well as pets who simply want companionship and consistency. I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away, with plenty of updates and photos along the way! I am a full time teacher, with availability for afternoon/evening times for weekdays. I am free on the weekends as well. Once summer comes, my availability definitely opens up. My home is pet friendly, with a fenced in backyard. I do have one dog at home so your pup has to be dog friendly. If I come to your house, it will be left as it was found. I will make sure to keep your dog comfortable and safe during during my visit.

About: I'm an incredibly active individual. I love to lift weights, practice martial arts, hike, and go on runs. This allows me to be an excellent fit for a dog whose energy levels are high. If you'd prefer for me to not just take your dog to the bathroom, but provide them a good amount of exercise as well, I'm a great fit! When I'm not taking care of dogs I work as a writer, director, and editor on films, social media videos, and commercials. If you've ever wanted any photos or videos of you and your four legged friend (or just them) I can provide high quality images/videos for you as well whether you want to just show off to your friends and family or just to have status updates on how your dog is doing. Because I work freelance my schedule tends to be flexible and allows me to set my own hours usually. I will work with you as best as I can to fit your needs within my schedule. I treat dogs very similarly to how I treat people. I show them a great deal of respect, empathy, and love. I do tend to spoil my own dog here and there, but I also try to love him as unconditionally as he does to me. A golden rule I try to follow is treat others the way you want to be treated. Another golden rule I try to follow is to see myself in others. I also apply these two golden rules to my encounters with pets and nature in general.

I found Michelle on short notice when the weather was predicting thunder all day, and Ishby can be alone for a few hours but is scared of thunder. Michelle was easy to communicate with, understanding and trying to make things work for me as best she could even as the weather forecast was changing. When she came for the meet n greet, it was clear she has a way with dogs and Ishby got used to her quickly. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
