About: $20 off your 1st rover service! https://www.rover.com/sit/chrisy67308 I have a German shepherd malinois which is also my first pet. I love him to death and take his health (mentally, physically, etc) seriously. I would do the same for yours! I have dog sat 3 dogs at once (including mine) for a few weeks before. My dog can acclimate to new dogs after a meet and greet. I can handle dogs with raw food diets and have baby gates in some rooms to separate dogs if they're not getting along! I have a back yard to run around in (not grass). I have time on the weekends and wfh. I have gated fences and rooms. I can watch dogs while I work. I can take them on walks in the afternoon. I can crate if needed (need to assemble - fits gsd). I can handle walking dogs up and down stairs (weight dependent). I will ask for permission before giving any "new" treats or meal items.

About: My name is Jonathan and I am currently 30 years old, working full-time as a dog sitter and remote product designer and living in Great Neck, NY. I currently have a 8 year old golden retriever! I have always loved dogs as I grew up with a Maltese when I was in kindergarten before getting my golden. I'm also very good at training through positive reinforcement and handling medium to large breeds. I also have experience taking care of multiple dogs at the same time. Lastly, I can easily tell when dogs are in trouble or need to use the bathroom, etc. My schedule is extremely flexible so I can accommodate most requests! I wake up at 9am everyday to let my dog out for a morning potty break. We then go for a walk at noon, one at 6pm, and one more at 10pm before bed. I have a fenced in yard that is locked at all times. I will be present in the backyard anytime the dogs are there and will keep an eye on them while they play. I will be home 24/7 while your dog is with me, and will be monitored at all times.

About: I've cared for both dogs and cats my whole life-- I've never lived without a pet! I also have experience as a volunteer caretaker through my local animal shelter, and a deep passion for animal welfare and happiness. I work part-time and am a part-time student, so please check my calendar for availability. I have class from 4-9pm Tuesday & Wednesday and my work schedule is typically the day shift on Monday and Thursday. Again, if there are any deviances, I will mark them on the calendar! I'm happy to let your pet set the pace-- if they're a cuddle bug, I'll give them snuggles, and if they need some time to warm up, I'll sit quietly while they get used to me. If your puppy feels the need for speed, I'll take him on a sprightly jog, but if your senior prefers to take the scenic route, we can stop and sniff every tree. I'll listen to your instructions and preferences and theirs.

About: I’ve cared for dogs for over 35 years, and family and friends have always relied on me to walk, feed, sit for, and pop in on their pups. Your dog gets safe, loving, home-based care with constant attention, vibe checks, and a calm environment. I’m experienced with anxious dogs, meds, seniors, and special routines. My dog Crewe is a gentle, friendly host for pups who enjoy companionship. Daycare always includes morning walks, real-time pupdates, enrichment, and flexible drop-off/pickup so your schedule stays easy and your pup stays happy. Overnight boarding rates include AM & PM walks. My days revolve around dogs — literally. I work from home, so I’m here for walks, playtime, vibe checks, and snuggles from morning to night. Crewe and I follow a steady routine: morning walks between 9–10am, midday breaks in the backyard, afternoon play, and evening walks around 5–6pm. For clients, I offer flexible drop-off between 7–9am, morning walks between 9–11am, and easy in-and-out access to the backyard all day (weather permitting). Pickup runs from 5–7:30pm, and meal times follow your dog’s usual schedule. Overnight boarding and walk schedules are fully customized to your pup’s needs. Weekend guests even get to join Crewe and me on little field trips to Annie’s Social, our local dog-friendly café. Your dog will be cared for in a safe, structured, and comfortable home environment. I have a fully fenced yard for supervised outdoor time, and the indoor space includes multiple soft beds, rugs, and couches where pups are welcome to relax. A crate is available upon request for dogs who prefer or require it. I maintain consistent routines, follow each dog’s feeding and medication needs, and accommodate special instructions within reason to ensure every pup feels secure. All outdoor time is monitored, doors remain secured, and I conduct careful introductions (vibe checks) with my dog, Crewe, to ensure a positive and stress-free experience. My focus is on clear communication, attentive supervision, and creating an environment where each dog can feel safe, calm, and at ease throughout their stay.

About: Hi! My name is Neil D. Wallace and I love dogs. Dogs make me happy. My favorite dogs are Blue Staffies and Pugs. I have most experience walking Doodles, Pitbulls, Huskies and Chihuahas. I also communicate everything, and promise an open book attitude with owners. All hours until i book my next show. This is just a side hustle when demand is low in the acting world, which will change, with my contribution. No matter what dog I take care of, there is always one thing in common. The owner is always right. Even if I think something might work better for the pups, the owner knows best; open communication is key.

About: Hi, I'm Maria! I adore dogs and cats! I've been walking and sitting dogs for over 13 years and a professional pet photographer for 8 years. I grew up with lots of cats and dogs, and I volunteered at an animal hospital while in college. Today, I have a friendly female creme Shiba Inu, Lula. I offer 1/2-hour or full-hour dog walks and pets sitting in the Whitestone and Beechhurst areas of Queens. I will take your puppy to the park for a stroll, a dog park or just around your area - whatever you prefer. Dogs in my trust for walks are NEVER left alone or unsupervised. I always "clean up" after dogs in my care and keep them on the leash unless, with your permission, we go to a secure fenced dog park. Whatever your instructions I will make sure they are followed exactly as you request. I'm a punctual, responsible, and respectful person who loves dogs. I will take good care of your puppy as if they were my own. I will make sure they feel comfortable and receive plenty of attention and affection during their stay with me! As a lifelong owner of dogs and cats, providing a consistent schedule of daily care, feeding, walks, and affection comes naturally to me and my schedule. I provide care, feeding, clean up and affection as instructed. I'm also happy to follow any other instructions that may be specific to each pet.

Nusta was absolutely incredible. I truly could not have asked for a better person to care for our dog while we were overseas. She went above and beyond in every possible way - taking amazing care of him, vacuuming and helping keep our home clean, bringing in our mail and Farmer’s Dog delivery, and even helping me during an emergency when I lost my debit card. Most importantly, our dog was SO happy. He had the biggest smile on his face when we got home, and it was obvious how comfortable and loved he felt with her. This was an extended trip overseas during such an important time in our lives - we got engaged while we were away - and because of Nusta, I genuinely did not have to worry about a thing back home. I would recommend her to absolutely everyone on this app, without hesitation. We will definitely continue using her because, at this point, our dog has officially welcomed her into the family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Nusta, for taking such incredible care of him and of our home. ❤️

I found Michelle on short notice when the weather was predicting thunder all day, and Ishby can be alone for a few hours but is scared of thunder. Michelle was easy to communicate with, understanding and trying to make things work for me as best she could even as the weather forecast was changing. When she came for the meet n greet, it was clear she has a way with dogs and Ishby got used to her quickly. She was in touch throughout the visit, took lots of pictures, fed Ishby as I asked her to, and I felt like my baby was in good hands. Grateful for Michelle's help!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oakland Gardens choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Oakland Gardens with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
