I grew up with a Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier and have spent years caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. In December 2019, I adopted my senior rescue dog, Abbott, a Chihuahua mix who quickly became my best friend and constant companion. She passed away in March 2026, and caring for her through her senior years taught me so much about patience, compassion, and attentive pet care. About: Hello! My name is Julissa. I have so much love for all pets and animals. Growing up, i’ve always had a dog in the house, and they were always such an important member of our family. It’s been about five years since I’ve had a dog of my own. My last dog’s name was Sasha. We adopted her when she was six and had her until she was about thirteen. She was so smart, loving, and anxious when we first got her so our first few years together were spent establishing trust. Eventually we managed to off-leash train and we worked a lot on her recall so that we could enjoy longer walks and outdoor activities while ensuring that she always felt safe in her environment. At home we set her bed up in the kitchen, where we would pass our time cooking and spending a lot of quality time together. I had so many good years with my Sasha, and since she passed I have genuinely missed spending time with animals on a consistent basis. Since then, most if not all of my friends and family have entrusted me with taking care of their animals when they are busy or traveling, so I’ve had a lot of experience with many different pets and their varying needs/personalities. I work freelance as an artist. I am a musician, so I often stay at home practicing or composing. However most of my work is in the film industry, and this work ranges from smaller independent projects to network television. Although I do work on set sometimes, I try to take on as many post-production gigs as possible, so I often find myself sitting behind a desk all day. Esperanza was great to work with! I asked her if I can pay her to comd the night before the booking on extremely short notice to meet myself and my bernedoodle, and she was able to do so which was fantastic. She did two drop in visits during the day while I was away and did a wonderful job and followed all the instructions I gave her.
