About: I have lifelong experience caring for animals, especially dogs. I've had dogs my entire life, including growing up with a 140-pound Pit Bull, later caring for a Staffordshire/Pit Bull mix, and now having a Pomeranian. I've also dog-sat for many families with dogs of all different sizes, ages, and personalities. I have experience with cats as well through my best friend, who has six cats and a dog. Beyond dogs and cats, I volunteer with GallopNYC, which provides therapeutic horseback riding for people with disabilities, and I also volunteer at a horse stable. These experiences have taught me to be patient, attentive, and responsible when caring for animals. I'm also very comfortable caring for homes. I understand the importance of keeping a home clean, secure, and respected while someone is away. Since I work from home, I'm able to spend a lot of time at the house, keep up with pets' routines, and make sure everything is well looked after throughout the stay. He can be high energy and difficult towards my older 10 year old cat Nellie, but Juliana handles them with such love and patience. About: Hello! My name is Julissa. I have so much love for all pets and animals. Growing up, i’ve always had a dog in the house, and they were always such an important member of our family. It’s been about five years since I’ve had a dog of my own. My last dog’s name was Sasha. We adopted her when she was six and had her until she was about thirteen. She was so smart, loving, and anxious when we first got her so our first few years together were spent establishing trust. Eventually we managed to off-leash train and we worked a lot on her recall so that we could enjoy longer walks and outdoor activities while ensuring that she always felt safe in her environment. At home we set her bed up in the kitchen, where we would pass our time cooking and spending a lot of quality time together. I had so many good years with my Sasha, and since she passed I have genuinely missed spending time with animals on a consistent basis. Since then, most if not all of my friends and family have entrusted me with taking care of their animals when they are busy or traveling, so I’ve had a lot of experience with many different pets and their varying needs/personalities. I work freelance as an artist. I am a musician, so I often stay at home practicing or composing. However most of my work is in the film industry, and this work ranges from smaller independent projects to network television. Although I do work on set sometimes, I try to take on as many post-production gigs as possible, so I often find myself sitting behind a desk all day. I have always made it a priority to work in a field that I am passionate about, and my decision to work with Rover has been no different. Caring for animals is not only something I am passionate about, but also a wonderful opportunity to go on walks and spend quality time with pets. I will always be very clear about any changes in my work schedule if those are to arise, but my reliability and dedication never wavers I have a fenced in yard and plenty of spaces in the house for your pet to wander and feel comfortable.
