About: Eric and Rachel share a love for their beloved Aussie-beagle Lilo and fostering rescue dogs together. We know that it is never easy to leave your beloved dog with someone new, and in a new place. As our own Lilo has struggled with separation anxiety before, we know how important it is to have a pet sitter who is present, patient, and able to cater their care towards a dog’s specific needs. Rachel has taken care of 6 different family dogs growing up, including a border collie, golden retriever, Boston terrier, 2 mixed breeds and a silky terrier. Eric has taken care of his family dog (chihuahua mix) since birth till now (9 years old). Together, we have fostered 12 rescue dogs these past two years, ranging from high energy Great Pyrenees to 3 Border Collie puppies all at once, to a completely afraid and anxious Beagle mama and Shiba Inu mama that are recovering from very difficult situations. We have also looked after a Rhodesian Ridgeback and an American pit bull. Our own dog is a 2.5 year old Aussie-beagle. We both have lots of experience working with dogs of all kinds of temperaments and needs, especially high energy dogs who require a lot of attention and care, and administering medication to dogs who have special needs. Rachel also loves cooking her home cooked meals for her dog, and can do that for yours too, if you need! We both work from home and have all weekends free. Our flexible schedules together allows us to bring dogs regularly on walks and to look after them consistently. We follow instructions really well, and can take care of your dog according to your requirements. We allow dogs to roam and sleep freely in our home, but we can also crate your dog easily if you prefer. We know how to work with your dog with lots of gentle care and love.

About: Dogs bring so much joy to my life, and I love giving that right back to them. I’m new to Madison and working as pharmacy resident so don’t have time for my own pup but have so much love to share! I work full-time as a pharmacy resident during the day, so I’m available for evening walks after 5 PM on weekdays. I have full availability on weekends. Safety is always my top priority on walks. I stay attentive, use secure handling, and tailor each walk to the dog’s pace and comfort level.

About: I love animals! Really, all (except mosquitoes). I don’t have any pets of my own at the moment but I’ve had a lot of experience being a dog/cat guardian and trainer! My philosophy for pets is grounded in responsible stewardship and prioritizing that animals feel safe, relaxed, and cared for. I have a masters and education specialist degree in educational psychology and work with kids with disabilities during the school year. I’m looking for some play and snuggle time while I have time off in the summer! My schedule is pretty open and variable over the summer while school is out. I’m a morning person and can do early, mid-day, and/or evening care. At my home I have a fenced-in back yard and live in a walkable neighborhood (Emerson East in Madison). I love going for good walks and hiking trails with pups. Also have a nice big deck. I’m not picky about pets on furniture in my apartment.

I use baby gates to create designated pet areas, so dogs can have their own space or be kept out of certain rooms when needed. I also have a large, fully fenced backyard—perfect for safe outdoor play and potty breaks. Fresh water is always available in multiple areas of the home to keep pets hydrated throughout the day. Whether your pet loves to run or relax, they’ll have a secure, comfortable, and caring space to enjoy.

About: I think something, I can proudly say is that I have people meet me once and trust me to watch their pets. I’ve had pets and I have taken care of friends and families pets since I was 12. Truly bonding with my pets was the highlight of my childhood, an experience that I know not every child is fortunate to have. I’ve seen my dog from puppyhood to his frosty senior days. The care is different of course, diets and lifestyle routine slow down and more careful attention is needed. Love is another key, all animals are deserving of being treated with respect and kindness. That includes the animals in the forest, since I work outdoors I see a lot of birds and critters and each one’s life is valued and admired. Like my job, the environment of the pet is important. Keeping the food and water bowl clean, is something I find some families neglect but I find that to be a little disheartening as you would not like to drink out a dirty water glass Services offered * 30 Minute Dog Walks include a fun stroll around your neighborhood or a nearby trail to give your pup the exercise fresh air, and mental stimulation they need during the day * 30 Minute Drop-Ins include potty breaks, feeding, playtime, and of course plenty of snuggles to keep your pet happy and comfortable while you're away * Basic House-Siting include staying overnight with your pup so they have company and comfort in their own home, along with daytime care every 4-6 hours for potty breaks, meals, playtime, and cuddles I currently work outdoors for Ice Age Trail Alliance, and unable to commit to the time for a long term companion, however I have just enough time to spoil and love on other people’s adorable pets :) Truly, the most important aspect of pet care is the establishing the safety and security of your pet. The initial meeting with your pet, getting familiar and making sure the pet feels like they can trust their caretaker is crucial.
