“Sylvia was a fantastic cat sitter! She took care of our cat Rhubarb for 3 days, including giving her oral medication. I really appreciated Sylvia’s reports about how Rhu was doing and I could tell from the pictures that Rhu loved being with her! Sylvia gave Rhu lots of affection and play time. I highly recommend Sylvia as a drop in cat sitter and we hope to work with her next time we go out of town!”

About: I have had cats for more than half of my life and dog-sat for around the same amount of time. I used to dog sit two huskies all the time, had a dog of my own for a short time, and have experience dog sitting for labs as well! I have even taken care of a bearded dragon and snake on multiple occasions. Rover does not list animals other than cats and dogs directly but I am happy to arrange care for another animal as well, including exotic animals, for a fee that can be discussed. I am volunteering at the humane society and am very involved in caring for animals as much as I have time for. I am excited and ready to care for any and all pets that need it and will stick to specific details given. I won't hesitate to ask questions about the care of your pets when I have them to make sure your pet gets the utmost care and love while you're away or busy, and id yoy have plants that need watering, say the word and I'll do that too! I am currently full time in senior year of high-school and volunteering for two hours a week on the weekends, but I graduate in a month and will have all the time in the world to pet sit! I follow every instruction for food, water, walk, and treats and ask questions if I am unsure of something. I tend to stay longer than needed for check in visits just to give pets some company if I have the time. Unless pets are not very social, they will get all kinds of attention, and if they have any anxiety or behavioral differences I will be very careful and act however is best for them. I am very sure to be on time for visits and will be very specific to follow instructions for walking or being taken outside.
About: I have been around animals all my life and even gravitate towards animals versus people in most social situations. I have cared for small Poodles and Terriers, as well as Labs and Great Danes. When I was in middle school, I taught my Golden Retriever obedience and agility. I put 110% effort into all jobs I am hired for because it’s truly something I love. I am an active individual who also loves to snuggle up on the couch with a good book. So whether your pet is an active walker or a cuddly couch potato, I promise to provide them with the love care they need while you are away. I can't wait to sit for your family and help ease your worry while you’re away! Before going to work as a teacher, I would make sure to check in on your pet in the morning. Feed them, take them potty, and depending on time take them for a morning walk. Directly after work, I would go home to see my cat Benny, and then go visit your house. I’ll make sure that your pup is fed, goes on a walk, or has a great amount of playtime and snuggles! Before taking them outside at your house, I would make sure that your dog is either on a leash, the yard fence is closed, or their recall is good with me. Most importantly, I want to make sure that in a new situation and with someone new in their home, they somehow do not get loose.

About: I've always had pet dogs and cats since childhood. At this time my husband and I are unable to have a pet of our own, but I frequently house sit and watch pets for friends and family. I work as a school counselor, so I have plenty of availability during the summer to care for your fur-buddies! I am energetic and enjoy playing with excited animal friends, and I also hold firm boundaries and can support your training. I work at a school, so I have plenty of time over the summer to love and care for your pets! I teach summer school from eight to noon a few weeks over the summer, and I also teach occasional yoga classes, but besides those commitments, my time belongs to the fur-babies! I am very energetic and happy to go for long walks or play with dogs to tire them out! I am also clean and detail-oriented so I will take good care of your home if you are away. During the school year I work as a school counselor so I value service to others, honesty, integrity, and sharing joy and kindness.

I’ve always had dogs in my life growing up so I’m very familiar with reading their body language and knowing how to care for them. I work full time but have a lot of flexibility to check on your pet throughout the day and have the opportunity to work remote as well I’ve never a met a pet that didn’t like me. I’m very good at reading dogs body langue and knowing what they need. Cats also like me and I’m good at reading their body language as well

“Shatoria took such great care of our three gals while we were away, providing lots of photos from each visit and making sure they were all given plenty of attention. You know your pets will be in good hands if you book with her. :)”
“Needed a couple drop-ins on short notice so I contacted Hailey and she got back to me right away. We set up a meet and great for that evening and she was right on time. All 3 dogs just loved her at first sight! After they got their attention we went over all the details of food, water, etc. She was on time to appointments and sent pics during visit. Hailey has great communication and I will definitely use her again.”

“Ayla took excellent care of our kitties. We came back to healthy cats who are enthusiastic about hanging out with us, and our house was sufficiently clean and dry. I would totally hire Ayla again and recommend her pet services to others.”

“Jackie was absolutely fantastic! She took such good care of my boy, and was incredibly gracious and kind about adjusting the booking days when my travel plans changed. I was thrilled with her throughout the entire process, and incredibly grateful.”

About: As a lifelong dog owner, I understand how much happiness our furry friends bring to our lives. My first rescue pup was a golden retriever mix named Luna, the sweetest dog who stole hearts everywhere she went. I currently have a Rottweiler who loves romping in the yard and excels at snuggling. It would be my pleasure to care for your dog while you are away. Long walks, playtime, and endless snuggles are services I can provide. I am comfortable with large breeds. My work schedule is quite flexible, so I have availability most days. I would be happy to meet you and your dog prior to bookings. I am passionate about animal rescue, and have experience volunteering at Dane County Humane Society. I look forward to meeting you and your pup!

About: I’ve worked with dogs and cats of all breeds, ages, and energy levels, from playful puppies to senior pets who need extra patience and care. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, walks, playtime, and providing lots of affection. I work full time, but would be able to stop by before or after work, or even during my lunch break depending on the location. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to maintain their normal routine so they feel comfortable and secure. I follow all care instructions closely—whether that’s feeding schedules, walk times, medication needs, or favorite toys and treats. I’m respectful of your home, clean up after myself and your pet, and always make sure they’re safe, well-exercised, and given plenty of attention.
About: Eric and Rachel share a love for their beloved Aussie-beagle Lilo and fostering rescue dogs together. We know that it is never easy to leave your beloved dog with someone new, and in a new place. As our own Lilo has struggled with separation anxiety before, we know how important it is to have a pet sitter who is present, patient, and able to cater their care towards a dog’s specific needs. Rachel has taken care of 6 different family dogs growing up, including a border collie, golden retriever, Boston terrier, 2 mixed breeds and a silky terrier. Eric has taken care of his family dog (chihuahua mix) since birth till now (9 years old). Together, we have fostered 12 rescue dogs these past two years, ranging from high energy Great Pyrenees to 3 Border Collie puppies all at once, to a completely afraid and anxious Beagle mama and Shiba Inu mama that are recovering from very difficult situations. We have also looked after a Rhodesian Ridgeback and an American pit bull. Our own dog is a 2.5 year old Aussie-beagle. We both have lots of experience working with dogs of all kinds of temperaments and needs, especially high energy dogs who require a lot of attention and care, and administering medication to dogs who have special needs. Rachel also loves cooking her home cooked meals for her dog, and can do that for yours too, if you need! We both work from home and have all weekends free. Our flexible schedules together allows us to bring dogs regularly on walks and to look after them consistently. We follow instructions really well, and can take care of your dog according to your requirements. We allow dogs to roam and sleep freely in our home, but we can also crate your dog easily if you prefer. We know how to work with your dog with lots of gentle care and love.
“Jolie has been super helpful. She loves animals and cares about them. She also respects and meets pet owners' needs. I couldn’t be happier with booking her. She is taking care of my babies, and I will definitely work with her again in the future.”

“Sabrina was wonderful with my little kitten, Basil! Having never had a sitter watch her before, I wasn’t sure how she would do with strangers and it turn out she’s a little shy. Sabrina was so patient with her and did such a good job of making Basil feel as comfortable as she could. I was really impressed with the detailed updates Sabrina gave while I was away as well. Would highly recommended her services!”

“Kara was fantastic. She cared for our four year old cat, Molasses, for a week while we were away. During that time she was always easy to get ahold of and would respond quickly to any questions. She also sent us multiple pictures after each visit. Kara took the time to get to know our cat. During her first visits, she would wait for our cat to approach her, allowing Molasses to become comfortable around her. By the end of the week Molasses was asking for pets, rambunctiously playing, and talking to Kara like she was a member of the family. I can’t recommend Kara enough. We plan to book with Kara again soon.”

Cottage Grove dog parents share their Rover experiences
Paige has been caring for our dogs about twice a month for the past two years, ever since we got a referral from our vet—and she’s been fantastic. She was so gentle and attentive with Milo before he passed, and Earnest absolutely lights up when she comes by. Paige is reliable, easy to communicate with, and clearly loves what she does. Whether it’s walks or pet sitting, she’s always been flexible and dependable. It’s a huge relief knowing Earnest is in such good hands. We’re really grateful to have her and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to others.
