“Hannah was so great with our dog. We trusted her to take care of him during our wedding and it meant so much to know he was in safe and good hands! Thank you!!”

About: I am currently working from home, so I have ample availability. I have a large black lab with special needs, so I know what animal lovers do for their pets!! If your pet needs a little extra attention, I have what you need! I can walk up to three dogs at a time, and am willing to work with hard to handle animals if the fit is right. For overnight stays, your pet will have to get along with my sweet 6 year old lab, and she loves to make new friends. Know how hard it is to leave your pet in the hands of someone else, so I will make sure they are safe and happy when they are with me. Please let me know if you have questions!!!!
“Shannon was awesome! Really lovely with Norman, brought water along, did a great job managing his leash pulling, and was really smart about resting him in the shade. I will definitely use her again!”

“Abigail and Ian regularly walk my little man Augie and always give such sweet updates on him! I love knowing there are people in the neighborhood who have my back caring for my guy”

“Jamie is awesome! She went above and beyond our expectations while taking care of our boys!! She is very professional and took the time to meet the boys before our scheduled dates with her. We got great pictures from her!! We will definitely be using her again”

“Hannah did a great job with our fairly high maintenance standard poodles. She won them over right away and asked great questions. She communicated well and we felt very comfortable having our babies in her care.”

About: I will keep you updated with photos and messages throughout your pet's stay so you can relax knowing they're well cared for. And I understand their unique needs and personalities. I work from home and part-time, so whatever works for both of us, I will be someone you can rely on. Looking forward to giving to and getting love from your pet! My love for animals will never go away! They will be most comfortable in their own environment and I will help them feel safe in that space.
About: I have taken care of neighbors pets since I was 10 and have always lived with Golden Retrievers. Currently, my family has two 75lb English cream retrievers (3 & 6) who I try to walk everyday when I’m home. I love pets of all sizes and energy levels! I work part time this summer researching at UW. My schedule is very flexible and I have a car to travel with. Reach out to me whenever! I can almost certainly make any time work. I can feed your pets, give medicine, let them out/clean litter, walk them and play with them! Anything needed to keep your pets happy and healthy!
“Madi is easy to communicate with, shows up to walk our dog, Milo, when she says she is going to, and gives feedback right away. We’re very happy with her and would recommend her to anyone.”

About: For all of my adult life, I have always taken care of people's pets. However, I have taken care of older dogs and cats with health issues who require extra patience and attention. As a tax preparer for a small business, I have the rest of the year to work on things that enhance my life. Being outside and around animals is the the stuff that life is made of! Taking care of anyone's fur-baby is an incredibly important and serious job that often gets disguised as simple tasks - "feed, walk, and take out." However, it is more than that! I try to clearly understand, know, and follow the instructions that owner(s) share for their pet. But, I also try to get to know the individual pet when I meet them. I try to assure them through pats, sniffs, treats, walks, and play that they are loved and that everything will be ok. I often talk aloud and/or read aloud to them because it helps them feel less lonely.
“Lensy is so wonderful! She’s consistently communicative and sends such fun photos. Absolutely incredible to have her care for Petey & shows above and beyond consideration for both my pets :) Look forward to having her walk again!”

“Ernst is super friendly, responsive and knowledgeable. We have 70 lbs adolescent pup who has a lot of energy to give. Ernst is great at keeping our pup in line. I already notice an improvement in our pet’s loose leash walking!”

“Lizzi was very responsive and flexible when I reached out and prompt and easy to chat with when she came by. Layla then got to go for her first walk with Lizzi which was a satisfyingly long one around the neighborhood for her. I wholeheartedly recommend working with Lizzi; we booked our next walk right away!”

About: I have been around dogs all my life and have owned my own dog, Belle, for 5 years now. Belle would come with me on any overnight house sitting requests. I have been a pack leader at Tailwaggers Doggy Daycare and also fostered almost 40 dogs through Fetch WI Rescue where I am also on the board as the Director. I’ve been focused on fostering so I haven’t dog sat in the past year, but I am ready to do some sitting and boarding this summer! I am a daycare teacher, so I am used to communicating daily with parents! I will always send updates, photos, and accommodate any requests you may have. I currently work full time at a daycare. I’m gone from 8-1, come home for a lunch break from 1:15-1:45, and then work 2-5 pm. I’m home most evenings the whole night. Your pet would be treated like my own! I can accommodate their schedule or fit them into my routine. I separate my dog and client dogs when I’m gone for safety.
About: I’m an incoming veterinary student and pet owner. I’ve grown up taking care of my cat and dog and love spending my time with animals. I have worked as a veterinary assistant for the past 3 years. Daily dog walks are an important part of my routine and I have a flexible schedule. I love meeting new people and animals on the island! I have experience with dogs of all sizes and am an active person. I also keep my dog leashed and am amenable to dog’s specific needs.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Monona
Keely has been walking my dog Lola every Wednesday for the past couple of weeks, and I truly could not be happier with the care she's provided. I booked with very little notice, reaching out on a Monday, and Keely came over the very next day to meet Lola, learn our routine, and get to know her needs. From the start, I could tell she was thoughtful, thorough, and genuinely invested in making sure Lola felt comfortable and safe. Lola is a reactive dog, and having someone who understands reactive dogs is incredibly important to me. Keely clearly has that experience and confidence. She pays attention to every detail, thinks ahead, and has approached each walk with care and awareness. I feel completely at ease knowing Lola is in her hands. What has impressed me even more is how thoughtful Keely is about factors beyond just the walk itself. We've had plenty of rainy weather lately, and she's done an amazing job timing walks to avoid the worst of it. She's also been mindful of potential thunderstorms and how Lola might react, which shows just how much she cares about the dogs she works with. Keely has been an absolute pleasure to work with - reliable, communicative, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. I'm so grateful to have found her, and I know Lola is too. I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for someone they can trust completely with their dog.

Lora was reliable and really gave extra. She came out before hand to learn the dogs and their routes. I am currently disabled and she was so helpful bringing in packages. She took each dog on extra laps if they failed to do their business the first round. We will not hesitate to call Lora the next time we need someone.

Laura came and met us before starting walks with my dog, Ruby. She was great with Ruby and very attentive to her. The first time Laura came to walk Ruby, Ruby was shy and uncertain. Laura was patient and slowly allowed my pup to warm up to her so they could play in the yard. I highly recommend Laura, she clearly loves animals and does a great job recognizing what they need and goes at their pace.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
