About: Growing up, I adored the family cat and dog, and was responsible for their care throughout my teen years. Cuddles and Fidget were a bonded pair who lived long, happy lives and passed within months of each other in 2020 while I was in lockdown abroad (I’m so not over it). As an adult renter, circumstances have not yet allowed me to have a dog or cat of my own. I turned to pet sitting as a way to continue connecting with these precious creatures who have so much to teach us about stillness, acceptance and the art of living in the moment. I also love reptile friends such as snakes and geckos! My work as an artist allows me great scheduling flexibility. This gives me the freedom to check in on your pets as often as they need, and keep them company throughout the day and night. Your pets are my top priority when they are in my care. I watch pets in their own home where they feel safest and can continue their routines as uninterrupted as possible during their primary caregivers absence. I talk to them and interact with them like they are my close friends - they get to know all my secrets! Having written instructions to refer back to during the stay, which are discussed beforehand with an opportunity for questions and clarification, is extremely helpful in understanding how to provide the best care possible. Let’s schedule a time to meet and help me understand what your pet’s needs, temperament and routines are!
“My dog loves Hannah! She is reliable and always shows up on time! She makes sure to let me know if she uses the bathroom and is overall very good at what she dos and I highly recommend her!”

“Abigail and Ian regularly walk my little man Augie and always give such sweet updates on him! I love knowing there are people in the neighborhood who have my back caring for my guy”

About: I’ve had dogs in my life since I was a child, primarily Labs. I walk for exercise and would love to have your dog along. I’m a travel RN not on contract so my schedule is wide open. I drive to Madison daily to workout so I can easily exercise your pets at your convenience. I only offer walking services at the moment. I will ensure that your pet is safe from traffic and other animals. I will treat them as my own.
About: I have experience working at a dog daycare, (Dana’s Dog Spa and Daycare in Hutchinson, MN) where I cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities in a fast-paced environment. My responsibilities included supervising playgroups, feeding, cleaning, and making sure each dog was safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I’ve also spent many years caring for the pets of friends and family, providing reliable cat and dog sitting while they were away and regularly walking their dogs. I’ve always looked forward to spending time with them, and I genuinely enjoy caring for animals! I am available mornings (7am - 10:30 am) and evenings (4pm - 11 pm) on M, T, TH, and F. And I am available most weekends as I’m a college student, but I do not have a car on campus so I will be walking or taking the bus! I’m happy to work with your schedule whenever possible! Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities! I care for each and every pet with the same love and attention I’d give my own. I always take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and any special needs so they feel comfortable while you’re away. I’ll follow your instructions closely, prioritize safety on every walk and visit, and keep you updated so you can have peace of mind. I’m always happy to answer any questions and help you feel confident that your pet is in caring, reliable hands!
“Jacob is amazing and a fast walker! He uses the whole booked time to walk your dog and takes the best pictures too! Support him in his senior year here. You and your dog won’t regret it!”

“Elizabeth is a very professional and caring dog walker. My dog looked forward to her visits. She follow directions perfectly and asked pertinent questions. I will definitely book with her again.”

“Laura was fantastic. We did a meet and greet the day before she started, and Hambone took to her immediately. Laura was prompt and responsive. She walked our dog while she stayed at my elderly parents house, and they were thrilled to have her. She was friendly and warm. I would not hesitate to book walks with her in the future.”

“I am so happy we found Jennifer to walk our dog. She's a very caring and responsible person. She asked great questions when we met for introductions. She was on time and let me know of schedule changes and was flexible in rescheduling. Our dog loves her. I highly recommend Jennifer to care for your pets.”

About: I’ve owned dogs, cats, horses for years. No job is too big. I work in veterinary medicine as a technician. I am comfortable with medications, injections, subcutaneous fluids, etc. I currently work full time at Spring Harbor Animal Hospital. I am able to stop morning and evenings around work and then more on weekends! If you need services overnight I do try to check on my kitties before settling in with your pet for the night. In the client home I am very respectful of spaces and leave it as found. I will follow all rules both for myself and for your pet. About: I worked 8 years, almost 9, and The Dog Hut LLC. I've helped care for dogs as young as 2 months and dogs well into their senior years. I'm happy to give medication to any dogs that need it and make sure they get extra cuddles and someone to "talk to". I am also very open to more than just dogs. I worked for 4 years at the Dane County Humane Society caring for Guinee Pigs, rats, and a non venomous snake. I am currently between jobs so any day works well for me. I'm happy to come late morning and well into the night to feed, water, and play with your pets who need that. Or just lend a happy presence, for the cats and cat-like pets who just need a simple hello. At my home I do not have a fully fenced in yard but am within walking distance of a few paths so even if your dog will be on leash they will get a wonderful walk in. Bringing their own toys and comfort items will be needed as I only have a cat currently. Also your dog must be cat friendly or will need to have a kennel brought with them should they be staying. I am okay staying over at my client's place should the need arise, can give medication and will give them all the playtime and snuggle breaks they need. I will be wary of weather changes so I can give them quick breaks outside and make sure they still can get energy out should it be an inside kind of day.

About: Hello, my name is Katy and I would love to care for your dog! I just finished a term with AmeriCorps and now work part-time in the service industry. My flexible schedule means I am free to walk or watch your pup! I understand that caring for your dog means understanding their individual needs. Please don't shy away from telling me your dog's specific needs and quirks. I want to make caring for your dog a great experience for both pet andowner. I bring passion and professionalism to this job and absolutely enjoy what I do. I have had dogs all my life and currently have an elderly chihuahua. Because of his health concerns and age, I'm not currently boarding dogs at my home. However, I would love to walk and sit your pups and can assure they will get attentive and safe care.
About: I have 10 pets in my current home. I have experience with a very large dog, a puppy, a spunky as well as medically needy cat and other animals. I take pride in good care and prioritizing the animals needs. I take about 2 classes a day but am free anytime in between, before or after! I’m very flexible and can work with you and your pets needs. Animals have feelings and needs, just like humans, and they should be treated with the upmost care. I provide that with every animal I look after.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
