“Kat was wonderful will our dog; great communicator, asked us lots of questions during our initial meetings and kept us updated on how he was doing. We would absolutely recommend/hire Kat again.”

“Ange was amazing. She looked after my two kitties while I was traveling. Every day, she dropped by for 30 minutes, providing the kitties with wet food, handling their litter boxes, giving them company, etc. She sends amazing picture and written updates—reading her updates was one of the highlights of my day while traveling. She is super accommodating and follows instructions very accurately. I totally trusted her and will use her again and would recommend her. The only minor downside is that she sometimes had to miss the regular schedule and come a bit later. It’s not a big deal, but I feel having an exact schedule could be more comforting for the cats. But again, this is a small thing and not a big deal.”

About: When I was younger everyone believed that I would choose to become a vet. Although I took a different path, my love and willingness to care for animals has only increased over the years! Starting at age 10 with Rio, my childhood family dog I began caring for dogs of all kinds. From the various strays my parents and I rehabilitated, to the the fur babies we sat for friends, and King, the senior Pittie I care for currently: I'm sure to give my all to each and every animal I come in contact with! I'm available everyday after 12 PM, both weekdays and weekends for walks, drop ins, and quick home visits. As for sitting and longer visits, Rover is my main source of income right now so I am available whenever needed! I understand how important the safety and protection of your furry friend truly is! Whether it's walking or sitting, I am sure to handle your pet with care and love. I do well with instructions so no worries on any left for me during a sitting job! And as for walks, you can trust that I am 100% always looking out for pets safety and health!
“Jessica walked our dog several times when we were away and was very responsive from booking to her visits. Murph had a great time and he was well taken care of! We'd definitely book her again.”

About: I grew up in a home with dogs, cats, bunnies, hens and roosters. I have never lived without caring for an animal! I love being outside, going for walks, playing and gardening. I am a mom of two school-aged boys and a proud owner of two tuxedo kitties whom we adopted nine years ago. I work part-time in the afternoons as an outdoor preschool art specialist. I am free between 9:30 am, and 1 pm everyday, and Wednesday and Thursday until 3 pm! I may also have early evenings free starting at the end of June. I have plenty of time in my schedule to help you care for your animals. Looking forward to meeting them! I am fun, gentle, playful and caring, and have a good instinct for what dogs and cats need. I can read body language and am sensitive to energy. I look forward to learning more about your pets from you, getting to know them and forging a relationship.
About: I’ve been walking and taking care of all pets since I was ten years old. I love them. I have a dog of my own and I would treat anyone’s as I treat my own. With love and respect and patience. I can walk your dog, do drop by visits, and stay in your home while you are away. Cat too! I’m pretty flexible. I am a dogs friend and they take to me as I them. Taking care of a pet is easy if you love doing it as much as I do. If you tell me what you need I have no doubt I would be able to help you and your lovely fur friend with whatever service. I look forward to meeting you and your fur baby. I can currently home for the summer so I have all the time to tend to everyone’s fur babies! So I’m free basically every and any day needed! I tend to people’s fur babies as directed. I have a fenced in yard and ab suv for park trips. I like to follow the pets schedule for the most part adding in my own touches where I can!
About: Ever since I was a kid, friends and family have trusted me with their beloved pets. I have experience with puppies, senior dogs, dogs who prefer to be the only pup in the room, and multi-dog households. My husband and I are proud pawrents to our sweet 50lb rescue, Charlie! (and we like to say he rescued us as much as we rescued him!) Being a rescue, he has fearful tendencies. Because of this, I've come to understand dog behavior on a deeper level and know how to ensure your pup remains safe, comfortable, and confident in all settings! I’m fortunate to work fully remotely, which gives me the flexibility to incorporate pet care naturally into my daily routine. I genuinely love animals, and spending time with them is something I look forward to. It’s a great way to step away from my desk, recharge both mentally and physically, and come back to work refreshed. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or just keeping a pet company, I’m able to be present and attentive with them! I’m a natural caregiver and love animals of all kinds. Since we live in an apartment without a fenced yard, Charlie enjoys at least four walks a day. We’re lucky to be close to parks and the Neponset Trail, so he gets plenty of new places to explore! I’ll give your pet the same level of enrichment—long walks with fresh scents, playtime, cuddles, feeding, and plenty of love.
“Julia is very easy to communicate with and was happy to come by for a meet and greet prior to first booking. For first visit, Julia was right on time and sent pictures and detailed notes about her visit. Will definitely book again! So appreciative of the care she provided.”

About: I’ve been walking and house sitting for about 3 years and I’ve learned a lot! On average I walk about 1 mile every 25 minutes, and I love updating parents as much as I can. I currently work part-time, but right now it’s only on the weekends so Monday-Thursdays I’m usually free to take care of your fur babies while you’re away! I can follow instructions given by the parents and my eyes are always on the pets. I always try my best to make sure they don’t eat anything off the ground, and I keep them away from other animals if they are triggered by them.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats for friends and family for the past 10 years! I am a very responsible young adult and would care for your pets like my own! I am currently working till 3pm every day so can do anything after work once I get home! I will make my best effort to provide full and complete services I care for them like they were my own and put clients request at my highest priority! I will go above and beyond to make sure all their needs are met
About: Hey hey! My name's Victoria, but friends call me Rev. I moved here a couple of years ago now from Georgia, began pet sitting in April 2024, and it's currently my full-time job! I've been fascinated with animals since a young age, with about ~17 years of experience, mainly with cats. As I've gotten older, I've fallen in love with the human-animal bond, and have become passionate about their care and respecting each one the way they deserve. Regardless of your pet's personality, preferences, or needs, I'm excited to meet, care, and accommodate your little darling with the same love as you would! I hope to hear from you soon 😊! As this is my full-time job, I'm capable of prioritizing my schedule to work for you and your sweetheart(s). I'm always sure to communicate if something may come up during your booking, such as other gigs or obligations outside of work, that way there's total clarity on where and when I'll be in relation to your pet(s). If you're not sure, please feel welcome to ask! If I can fit them into my schedule, even on short-notice or alongside another sweetie, I'm more than happy to see what I can do. I've got the kind of guest attitude you can expect from a typical Southerner! I take the care of another's space very seriously, doing my best to leave things as I found them, and due to a background in housekeeping it's not uncommon for me to do some cleaning before I leave. You can trust to come back to your home just as you left it, if not with less dust than before!
About: Hi, I’m Gisele, a college student and lifelong animal lover with years of hands on experience caring for dogs of all ages and temperaments. I grew up surrounded by dogs in my family, including rescue dogs, so I’m very comfortable with everything from energetic puppies to dogs that need a bit more patience, structure, or gentle care. I’ve been dog sitting since I was young, helping care for family pets over the years and building strong, trusting relationships with them. I’m attentive, reliable, and I take the responsibility of caring for someone’s pet seriously because I know they’re part of the family. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding routines, or just keeping your dog company, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I am currently working part time over the summer and in school during the fall and spring. My schedule leans more morning heavy so I am highly available in afternoons and evenings Monday through Saturday! I follow each dog’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions from the owner. I pay close attention to their behavior and comfort so I can adjust my approach based on what each dog needs! I make sure the home stays safe and secure at all times, either by keeping doors locked, being mindful during walks, or never leaving pets unattended in unsafe situations. I also focus on creating a calm, consistent presence so the dog feels relaxed and comfortable while their owner is away! My goal is to make the experience as stress free as possible by keeping things familiar, structured, and full of care and attention.
“So glad to have found Caroline! it was Coco’s first time with a new person and the visit went great. Very good communicator. Really appreciate her taking care of Coco!”

“Dani has taken care of Gambit and Logan many times before joining rover. She has been able to give Gambit his medication when he needed it. She quickly learned their quirks and ensures they get personalized attention when she comes by (Gambit likes to sit on the patio for a few minutes and Logan loves to play). Her love for animals is strong. We will continue to usw Dani!”

About: I’m a dog mom of 5 years to my scruffy rescue girl, Honey! I love dogs and excited for the opportunity to care for your pup. I’m very patient and caring. I’m happy to cater the experience to your dog’s individual needs to make them feel comfortable and have fun! I am available throughout the week and weekends. My schedule varies week to week but generally available, especially if you have a few hours window that works. I have a well trained 5 year old dog, Honey. I can crate your dog if needed. I will provide ample walks and outdoor time.

About: Within the past few years I have provided consistent pet care for variety of animals. Cats, dogs, small companion pets, and even fish. My responsibilities have included scheduled feedings, daily walks, potting training, playtime, basic care, routines, and maintaining clean a living space to ensure pets feel safe and welcome. I believe pets should feel emotionally supported while their owners are away. This role has strengthened my ability to be able to read different animal temperaments and adapt individual needs, while creating routines that match each pets energy and comfort zone. I am currently a full-time student at UMass Boston majoring in Political Science with a minor in Africana studies. Now that there isn’t currently a pet in my home to care for, I have grown strong desire to start caring for other peoples pets again. I especially have the time between semesters on winter and summer breaks. When classes are back in session, I have worked my schedule around my desire to care for pets and will only be in class two days a week. I hope to feel this time with adorable for babies. I live in an animal, friendly apartment complex that includes a spacious outdoor area. This is perfect for giving pets some fresh air if they enjoy it. I play close attention to animal's personalities and comfort levels. For dogs, I make sure to coordinate with other pet owners to see if a play date is on the table, or keep them in quieter spaces if they prefer it to be more low-key. For cats, I have plenty of open space indoors, including a scratching post and cozy spots where they can relax. All above I respect animals boundaries and make sure they feel safe and at ease, whether in my home or yours.

Eleanor went above and beyond to make the drop-in all around perfection for my dog! She was on time, stayed the full time, handled all of the care items asked and then some. I know from the photos she shared that my dog had the very best time and felt loved and cared for while mom was gone! Will definitely be re-booking with Eleanor!

Morgan was super easy to communicate with. I really appreciate their care and attention to our pups. Morgan went above and beyond to make sure they got fed even though they can be very picky eaters. It's a relief to find someone we can trust to take great care of the dogs.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Mattapan stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mattapan choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Mattapan with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
