About: Animals have always played an important part in my life. I have been pet sitting for family and friends since I was 10 years old. I have over 30 years of experience in animal husbandry and care. Whenever a family member needs to go out of town, I am the person that they ask to feed their cats and dogs. In college, I took my roommates dogs out for potty breaks and walks when she had classes. In 2021, I stayed for 5 months at a friend's house pet sitting their Chihuahua and cat. I volunteer to walk the dogs at the Guilford County animal shelter every Tuesday. Not only am I a pet sitter, I'm also a pet owner. I currently am owned by four cats and one spoiled pitbull. I just returned from being a Peace Corps volunteer in North Macedonia. My usual fulltime job is TESOL instructor, and this can be done remotely. I am currently not teaching. I am flexible and willing to conform to whatever your pet needs. I'm willing to follow any directions or care that you require for your pet. As a dog walker, I have the equipment to complete the task. I keep poop bags, dog treats, and extra leashes in my car. If I am in your home, I will be sure to follow your directions and keep you posted with pictures throughout the day.
“Barbara was fantastic! She had excellent communication throughout the day which truly put my mind at easy. Our dog Joey had a blast with her! Will definitely book again in the future.”

About: As a professional musician and social worker with over 10 years of experience, I have had my fair share of rewarding experiences by giving to others whether it be the gift of music or a higher quality of life. My passion lies in providing the service of others in need and animals are not at all excluded from that list. As a certified habilitation technician (care taker for patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities; i.e autism, down syndrome etc.) I have witnessed the most meaningful interactions with all of my clients when there has been a pet involved. As a student at the UNCG School of Music I'm often surrounded by colleagues that utilize service animals to help them cope with the stress often involved in the field. It goes without saying that even though I love what I do primarily for a living, the workload can be stressful and anxiety-inducing. The detrimental effects of this lifestyle peaked when I was diagnosed with clinical depression (Major Depressive Disorder or MDD). Faced with several mental and psychological obstacles, I was in dire need of an outlet to restore my emotional health and freedom. God helped me to find this freedom in taking care of pets; especially dogs. What I realized about domesticated animals during this time is that they are often in need of the same emotional care that I and many others like myself who struggle with a mental illness need. They require patience, diligence, unwavering friendship, active lifestyles, and unconditional love just like all people (or at least every person I've ever met). Humans and animals have a lot more in common than most realize and I seek to express my gratitude for these similarities by serving and taking care of pets. It goes without saying that I am an advocate for puppy therapy of sorts. A wise person once said "It is more blessed to give than it is to receive". I have owned and taken care of pets for over 10 years and I strongly believe that by providing these types of services the client, pet, and I will all benefit harmoniously: I make a new friend, your pet receives the simple gift of unconditional emotional support, and you can take care of what matters most so you can get back to playing with who matters most!
About: Having grown up in a home that was always filled with animals, I've essentially been a lifelong pet caregiver! As a current pet parent to my own dog and cat, I understand the joys and responsibilities of pet ownership firsthand. I'm comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes and ages, from little puppies to senior sweethearts. Beyond everyday cuddles and care, I also have experience working with reactive, behaviorally challenged, and hyperactive dogs, and I'm comfortable providing the extra patience and understanding they may need. Although my schedule can sometimes depend week to week, I’m am currently working part time so most of my days and night during the week are free for your furry companions!! Whether caring for your beloved pets in my home or visiting them in yours, my approach is always centered on their individual needs, safety, and happiness. In Your Home: For drop-in visits and house sitting, I prioritize maintaining your pet's routine and ensuring they feel secure and loved in their familiar environment. This includes: -Following their established feeding schedule: Ensuring they receive the correct amount and type of food at their usual times. -Providing fresh water at all times. -Administering any necessary medications according to your detailed instructions. -Taking them out for potty breaks as frequently as they need, and cleaning up after them meticulously. -Engaging them in playtime and providing enrichment tailored to their personality and energy levels. This could include walks, fetch, indoor games, puzzle toys, or simply cuddles and companionship. -Paying close attention to their body language and behavior, noting any signs of stress, illness, or discomfort, and communicating these observations to you promptly. -Maintaining the cleanliness of their immediate environment, such as scooping litter boxes or spot-cleaning any accidents. -Sending you regular updates, photos, and videos so you can see how your furry friend is doing and have peace of mind. I am attentive to their unique personalities and any special requirements they may have, ensuring they receive the best possible care in a safe, loving, and responsible manner.
