“Natalie was amazing! I was hesitant using an unknown person, but she put me at ease during our Meet and Greet. Deuce is a puppy and can’t be boarded just yet. She was very communicative and Deuce loved her. I will be using Natalie again. Thank you, Natalie!”

“Chris did a great job of checking on our kitties on a set schedule and gave our one cat her pills every day! He even took the extra time to sweep after cleaning the litter boxes! I will be requesting him again!”

“Karen did an awesome job taking care of Ellie Mae while we were out of town for a wedding. Karen provided detailed reports and pictures on each visit and in one of the pictures Ellie had her head on Karen’s shoe, this is Ellie’s way of saying we’re friends. I would recommend Karen and James for your dog sitting needs. We’ve already requested them for another trip!”

“Karina did a wonderful job caring for our senior cat. She was responsible and had good communication, so we felt our cat was in good hands while we were away. She also took the initiative to clean the litter box without my asking, which was very thoughtful. Thank you, Karina!”

“Lauren took excellent care of our two cats while we were out of town. Each day Lauren sent us clear summaries of what she did during visits, including nice photos of our cats. These summaries gave us even more assurance that all was well at home. Lauren's attention to detail was demonstrated on the second day when Lauren fixed the sheet draped over our shy cat's box/hiding place. We will recommend Lauren to others looking for a pet sitter.”

About: I’ve taken care of hamsters, guinea pigs, birds, turtles, rabbits, young pups and kittens a like, and also older dogs and cats I don’t know if that separates me from others but I bring the versatility to handle ur animal friends needs As the summer starts I’m open to anytime and hrs as I’m out of college for the summer, my hours won’t change going into the fall semester either just let me know ahead of time so I can make sure your friend is cared for. I have a fence in my backyard and also a play pen inside for my dogs to move around and exercise play time but if needed I’m able to crate as well
“Kaitlyn did an excellent job with the pups, she always on time and her communication was great! Would highly recommend her to all of my friends and anyone else looking to find someone to watch their fur babies.”

About: I have taken care of many different types of dogs! I have walked/sat for dogs of all ages- from puppies to our powder-sugar faced babies! I have also worked with a few dogs with disabilities (mostly physical limitations). I’m currently a student in physical therapy school looking for a creative way to exercise and spend time with animals while I am away from my own two dogs! I love giving belly rubs and head scratches (and maybe even slip them an extra treat) to make your pet feel safe and happy! I also like to run so I would be able to run as well as walk with your dogs.
“Sarah is wonderful and takes such good care of our dog! We are completely comfortable and definitely having her stay with ours anytime she is available. Pictures, daily notes, walks, and loving care. She’s awesome!”

About: I have over 8 years of personal experience providing pet and house sitting for multiple clients, caring for pets of all personalities and needs. I also grew up around animals, thanks to my mom working at a pet store, giving me hands-on experience with a wide variety of animals beyond just cats and dogs. I focus on keeping pets comfortable in their routines while giving you peace of mind with attentive, loving care. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. While I do work full time, caring for animals is a top priority for me. Days typically start and end with two daily walks, plenty of playtime, and enrichment. I have a dog of my own, so my schedule already revolves around making sure pets get exercise, attention, and stimulation through toys, enrichment activities, and downtime for cuddles. I plan my days to ensure every pet in my care receives consistent attention, routine, and love. I provide a safe, animal-friendly environment in my home and always tailor care to each pet’s individual needs. My entire home is animal-friendly, with dog gates and crates available if needed to ensure the comfort and safety of any pets. While my yard is not fenced, we have plenty of space for supervised play and exercise, and all outdoor time is closely monitored. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their usual routine as closely as possible and let each pet set the pace. This could mean active play, enrichment time, walks, or quiet cuddles. Every pet is different, and my goal is to make them feel comfortable, secure, and well cared for wherever they are.
About: I’ve lived with dogs and cats my entire life, and because of my close involvement with animals, I’ve always derived great joy from taking care of them. I would love to meet your animals and provide them whatever they need, whenever they need it. I am currently enrolled in Guilford Technical Community College and have a very open school schedule for whenever you would like to book. I’m flexible! :) I have a large, fenced in backyard and a nice cat-friendly home for them to walk into. Additionally, I strive to always care with a warm and welcoming demeanor.
“Michele was very reassuring to me when watching my two senior dogs. There were rainstorms when I was away and she communicated and offered suggestions— I appreciate her confidence in being in charge of my pets. Also, the photos of the walks she took with the dogs (on the days when the weather was good) gave me peace of mind. I will definitely hire Michele again to watch the “kids”.”

About: I've been taking care of dogs since I was very young. Notably, I trained service dogs in undergrad for 2 years and had a service dog with me for that time. I am a graduate student and have a flexible schedule. I do not have a set 9-5 schedule and it changes every week so please reach out to see if your schedule works. I live in an apartment that has a large fenced in dog park within steps from my door that your dog will make many trips to. There are many friendly dogs within the area for your pet to play with if you choose.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Jamestown
Adonis was amazing with my cat Rory! My normal petsitter fell through last minute and she was able to take my booking request without a problem. She was incredible with her communication and went above and beyond to take care of her while I was out of town. I had complete peace of mind and didn’t worry about a thing. I would absolutely recommend her for any of your pet-sitting needs ❤️

I was super anxious at the thought of leaving the most skittish cat I’ve ever owned alone for more than 24 hours for the first time. My 14 year old cat, Bitsy B, became an only cat in December when her long time companion crossed the rainbow bridge. I knew I had to find a reliable pet sitter and didn’t know where to start. I had pictured a reliable student close to my area and I came across Abigail’s profile and thought she’d be a great fit because in my mind, she was the trustworthy person I was hoping to come across. Before leaving, I was beyond impressed because my cat runs under the bed and hides when anyone new comes in then reappears after they leave. Bit didn’t go under the bed, and she even walked up to Abigail to investigate. That’s never happened so I knew my neurotic cat would be fine. I was probably really difficult to understand because at the time I was packing in a frenzy for a funeral, and I also have a special needs child with a lot of medical equipment and supplies to pack up, and my adult ADHD didn’t help so I felt like I just threw her in a messy house with a bunch of cat food and said “the cat is skittish but she didn’t run from you so you’ll be fine”. I am a very satisfied crazy cat lady and can’t praise Abigail enough for watching my Little Bit of a cat.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Jamestown. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
