“Home drop in went well, after we got our communication straight.. Martini's first drop in and happy he responded well to the sitter. A true life saver when you're away and pup needs a potty break.”
“Nica is the best. We can always enjoy our trip or focus on whatever we need to do when Nica is in charge of our pup. Always provides timely updates/responses and you can tell your pup feels relaxed while you’re away.”

“Karina did a wonderful job caring for our senior cat. She was responsible and had good communication, so we felt our cat was in good hands while we were away. She also took the initiative to clean the litter box without my asking, which was very thoughtful. Thank you, Karina!”

“Breanna was the best cat sitter for my Simba. Breanna went out of her way to spoil him and showed so much affection to him. He was very spoiled my her. Breanna toke some of the best pictures and always sent an update on Simba. I felt very good about leaving Simba with her to take care of and know he was being very much loved my her which always much your trip alittle better when you know your pet is safe. I will definitely being rebooking with her when I need Simba taken care of again. Simba made a great friend this week. 😁”

“Celina was absolutely wonderful! My cats Tibby and Minnow are extremely friendly, sociable fellows, and I saw right away at our Meet & Greet that Celina would cuddle and play with them the way they love. While I was away, she always took the time to give me a detailed update and send pictures (including one of Tibs draped in a feather boa with two toys beside him, being brushed on his belly). I felt like the boys were a little disappointed when I first got home and they saw it was me and not Celina. We will definitely be asking her to come back!”

“Angie did a wonderful job with our cats! Great with communication and making sure our cats were loved and taken care of. Will definitely book again whenever we go on our next trip!”

“Lola is so sweet and my dog really seems to enjoy his time with her. Anytime I texted her to check on my pup she was there to answer almost immediately. I will definitely be booking her again. She was super understanding and I couldn’t have asked for someone better to watch after my puppy while I was away.”

“Kendal was amazing! She respected my home space and gave me active updates on my pups and truly spent time with them! She knows what she’s doing and knows how to care based on moods of my pets!”

“Candice did such a great job taking care of our kitties while we were away. She sent pictures and videos of them as well. She made me feel at ease knowing that they were well taken care of. I'll definitely use her again when we travel next!”

“Justin did a fantastic job taking care of our kitties Phoenix and Cici while we were away! He was extremely professional, communicative, and very thoughtful. 5 stars all around!”

About: Animals have always played an important part in my life. I have been pet sitting for family and friends since I was 10 years old. I have over 30 years of experience in animal husbandry and care. Whenever a family member needs to go out of town, I am the person that they ask to feed their cats and dogs. In college, I took my roommates dogs out for potty breaks and walks when she had classes. In 2021, I stayed for 5 months at a friend's house pet sitting their Chihuahua and cat. I volunteer to walk the dogs at the Guilford County animal shelter every Tuesday. Not only am I a pet sitter, I'm also a pet owner. I currently am owned by four cats and one spoiled pitbull. I just returned from being a Peace Corps volunteer in North Macedonia. My usual fulltime job is TESOL instructor, and this can be done remotely. I am currently not teaching. I am flexible and willing to conform to whatever your pet needs. I'm willing to follow any directions or care that you require for your pet. As a dog walker, I have the equipment to complete the task. I keep poop bags, dog treats, and extra leashes in my car. If I am in your home, I will be sure to follow your directions and keep you posted with pictures throughout the day.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Jamestown
Adonis was amazing with my cat Rory! My normal petsitter fell through last minute and she was able to take my booking request without a problem. She was incredible with her communication and went above and beyond to take care of her while I was out of town. I had complete peace of mind and didn’t worry about a thing. I would absolutely recommend her for any of your pet-sitting needs ❤️

I was super anxious at the thought of leaving the most skittish cat I’ve ever owned alone for more than 24 hours for the first time. My 14 year old cat, Bitsy B, became an only cat in December when her long time companion crossed the rainbow bridge. I knew I had to find a reliable pet sitter and didn’t know where to start. I had pictured a reliable student close to my area and I came across Abigail’s profile and thought she’d be a great fit because in my mind, she was the trustworthy person I was hoping to come across. Before leaving, I was beyond impressed because my cat runs under the bed and hides when anyone new comes in then reappears after they leave. Bit didn’t go under the bed, and she even walked up to Abigail to investigate. That’s never happened so I knew my neurotic cat would be fine. I was probably really difficult to understand because at the time I was packing in a frenzy for a funeral, and I also have a special needs child with a lot of medical equipment and supplies to pack up, and my adult ADHD didn’t help so I felt like I just threw her in a messy house with a bunch of cat food and said “the cat is skittish but she didn’t run from you so you’ll be fine”. I am a very satisfied crazy cat lady and can’t praise Abigail enough for watching my Little Bit of a cat.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
