About: Growing up I had experience with a lot of types of animals, from cats, dogs, sheep, pigs, cows and horses. In my adult life, I have had a lab mix and have had 4 boxers (3 currently still in the home) and a siamese mixed cat. I learned a lot about dog behavior when I got my first boxer through training, and feel like that has helped me with other dogs too. Two of my current boxers are seniors and they take meds so I am familiar with those types of things and my other one is 8 months old so I am currently also in the puppy phases as well. I do have a full-time job. Evenings and weekends are the best time for me on some days. I often work from home later in the week so I can be flexible those days. I am definitely open to chatting about options. I will keep my calendar up to date based on my availability. If your pups are coming to my house, I have a fenced in yard. I do have a pool, but I go outside with all pups for safety reasons. If your dog loves to swim let me know! I also have a quiet neighborhood for a nice leashed walk. I do have a lot of stairs so if you have a senior dog that has mobility issues my house might not be the best option. If they go out on a leash this would be less of an issue b/c I can take them for a walk out front. I crate my puppy when I am gone, and can crate your dog when/if you would like me too. I would like any special instructions about medications/food/behavior etc that are specific to your pets. I would need any specific instructions for your in home stays with your pets.
“Tatiana is amazing! Zeus is in love. He recognizes her car and runs to the door to greet her, excited for his walk. She tires him out enough for him to settle down so I can work without having a bored puppy underfoot. Will request her again.”

About: I’ve had multiple pets for multiple years. I’ve fostered, rescued, rehabbed, and taken care of multiple dogs at a time for multiple years. They have a wide range of personalities, needs, and interests. I’ve worked with aggressive, resource-protective, calm, and medically needing dogs. I’m capable and equipped to take care of them and help your home function well! I’m a business owner with a very flexible schedule. I can usually be available quickly and last minute if needed. I also can handle large stretches of days and time brackets. I create an environment for my visits that are curated too what your pets are most comfortable with. That being said I love to get to know what makes your pet comfortable and help to emulate the kind of routine that helps them not miss a beat of their routine!
About: **Privately Insured for Peace of Mind** I've been pet sitting since childhood for all kinds of pets. My care experience has even involved small mammals, piglets, arthropods, and repitlies. I particularly enjoy working with shy and anxious dogs and cats. As a sitter, I pay attention to the details, such as pet body language and making sure food and water bowls are cleaned, and I am diligent in keeping pets out of potentially dangerous situations. Overnight dog sits include at least one walk a day unless otherwise specified or the weather prevents it, in which case indoor playtime will be had instead. I am comfortable administering medications, including injections. I am avaliable for constant care overnights (no leaving the dog(s) alone) for an additional fee. I am self-employed, so my schedule is extremely flexible and I am avaliable for constant care for an additional rate. Most of my exercise comes from walking dogs, so I am more than happy to take the long route if your pooch is up for it! I am very careful with your pets, avoiding encounters with unfamiliar dogs or people to avoid conflicts. My food is never within reach, and I pride myself on keeping your home clean and ready for your return.

I have received professional training and certification in dog walking by Three Dimensional Dog as well as being certified in Dog and Cat First Aid by the American Red Cross. I volunteer with Shelby County Humane society where I found Daryl as well as the Birmingham Zoo. I have experience helping with all ages of dogs and cats from puppy up to senior dogs as well as having experience with administering and watching over dogs taking oral meds with sedating effects. I’ve got rabbit experience as well ! I work a regular desk job with a hybrid working schedule working remotely and in office, I’m completely free on the weekends so I will have plenty of time to come check on your pets ❤️ I am very flexible and can come to your house as often as needed for house and pet sitting as often as you need someone to come by
About: Hi! I’m Danielle. I’ve been taking care of animals for most of my life and have been pet-sitting for about 17 years. I also grew up on a farm, so being around animals has always just been part of my day-to-day life. I’ve worked long-term with a family who has four senior beagles (one is blind), so I’m very comfortable with medications, routines, and dogs that need a little extra patience and care. Your dog will stay in my home and be treated like part of the family. I have a large fenced yard where they can run and play, plus a covered area for shade when it’s hot (which, realistically, is often). I also live about a mile from a dog park if your dog enjoys getting out and exploring. I try to keep things as close to your dog’s normal routine as possible—whether that’s lots of playtime or just a calm place to relax. Every dog is different, and I adjust to what they need. I’ll keep you updated while you’re away, and you can trust that your dog is safe, cared for, and getting plenty of attention. I work a typical Monday–Friday 9–5 schedule, but I’m able to stop by during the day for potty breaks, medications, and check-ins. Before and after work, your pet will get plenty of attention, time outside, and interaction. Weekends are more flexible, so I’m able to spend more extended time with pets in my care. Every other weekend, my 5-year-old is with me—she’s grown up around animals and is very gentle and comfortable with them. My home is very pet-friendly and pretty relaxed. Dogs are welcome on furniture if that’s what they’re used to, and I try to keep their routine as close to home as possible. I have a large fenced yard where dogs can run and play, plus a covered area for shade when it’s hot. I keep a close eye on pets when they’re outside and make sure they’re always safe and comfortable.
About: I have always had multiple dogs in my home. My family has a love for rescuing dogs so we have taken in and fostered numerous dogs in the past. I cared for many dogs while in Tuscaloosa for college. I have since moved to Birmingham and become a NICU nurse! No matter what your baby needs, I’m here!! I am a full time nurse so my schedule varies! I typically work 3 days a week, so depending on the week I will be available different days! I love to be active and love to run around with energetic dogs as well as give love to the cuddly dogs! I base my approach based on the dogs needs, every baby is different!

About: I grew up with dogs and truly can’t imagine life without them (no offense to my cat people 🥰). Caring for dogs has always come naturally to me—I love learning their personalities, reading their cues, and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I have experience with dogs of all ages and sizes, from energetic puppies to senior dogs who need a little extra patience and care. I’ve cared for everything from small breeds to extra-large pups like Great Danes, so I’m comfortable with a wide range of temperaments and needs. I’m especially attentive to details—whether that’s sticking to routines, administering medications if needed, or simply making sure your dog gets plenty of attention and affection. I’m also someone who genuinely enjoys spoiling pups (in the best way!). I’m very responsive and prioritize regular updates and photos so you always have peace of mind while you’re away. I love being active and spending time outdoors, so walks and playtime are something I truly enjoy—not just a task to check off. “Nichole was incredibly patient with my dog Mabel! Mabel can be really timid and scared of new people, and Nichole didn't force Mabel to go a walk when Mabel opted to stay in her kennel. Highly recommend and will be using again in the future!”

I work as a full time in-home social worker but my schedule is flexible. My days consist of driving around town so if I need to stop by your home midday, that’s an option. I can also flex my work hours which would allow me to stop by in the mornings or evenings as well. I’m often fully available on weekends. I do not own a crate, but I do have a large spare bathroom and this is where my own rescue pets have stayed after surgeries or while adjusting to their new home. There are several barn/sliding doors in my home which allow me to section it off and allow more space/privacy as needed. I also have a fenced in backyard and live near a nature preserve so there is ample space for roaming and play.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Irondale
Leah was absolutely amazing with Jolene! She took such great care of her on every walk and truly went above and beyond. Not only did she make sure Jolene got plenty of exercise and love, but she also took the extra step to check on and feed our cat while we were gone—even though the cat was totally fine. That kind of thoughtfulness means so much to us. It gave us complete peace of mind knowing our pets were in such great hands. We will definitely be booking with Leah again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable, kind, and genuinely caring!

Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
