Aniya did an amazing job with Max and Milo with taking them out and sending me pictures while they were out on their walk. Anyia was very informative and I truly appreciate the fact that she took the time to be informative. I will use her again to take care of my fur babies.

As always, Nichole is amazing. She sends thorough reports. She’s so prompt. You literally never have to wonder when you book with her. She cared for our pups while we were staying in the hospital for labor and delivery and the peace of mind I had about our pups at home was truly unmatched.

About: I have over 20 years experience with helping friends and family take care of their furry loved ones while they are out of town, as well as growing up with several pets, and now have 2 rescues of my own, Daryl is a 9 year old rescue from Shelby County Humane Society and Freddy a 1 year old rescue from First Circle Rescue with elbow dysplasia in both arms, both are blue heeler mixes and are quite the handful but I love every minute ! I have received professional training and certification in dog walking by Three Dimensional Dog as well as being certified in Dog and Cat First Aid by the American Red Cross. I volunteer with Shelby County Humane society where I found Daryl as well as the Birmingham Zoo. I have experience helping with all ages of dogs and cats from puppy up to senior dogs as well as having experience with administering and watching over dogs taking oral meds with sedating effects. I’ve got rabbit experience as well ! I work a regular desk job with a hybrid working schedule working remotely and in office, I’m completely free on the weekends so I will have plenty of time to come check on your pets ❤️ I am very flexible and can come to your house as often as needed for house and pet sitting as often as you need someone to come by

I have a spacious apartment and a pet washing station so I can always give your pet a bath and a pet-friendly home where dogs can relax, play, and feel at ease. About: I have grown up with animals my entire life. Caring for animals has been my life long ambition. I understand the importance of trusting someone to care for your fur babies. My fiancé And I love training and exercising with them every day and they push us to be the best we can be. They bring so much joy and happiness to our life. I have 5 years experience pet sitting for friends and family as well. They are the support system that told me about this app. Work from home but it’s not very demanding. Extremely flexible schedule. Pets need routines just as much as humans do for a sense of calm and safety. To continue to keep your (our) fur baby safe I will keep trash cans covered or inside a latched cabinet. Move all chemicals to high shelves or behind secure doors. Keep cords, chargers, and other potentially harmful items out of reach.

About: I have two cats of my own and have been a foster mom of big dogs, small dogs, and senior dogs as well as a sitter for friends with big dogs! Before medical school, I volunteered with Shelby Animal and Adopt a Golden. I’m a runner and love to take the dogs I sit on runs with me if they tolerate exercise well :) I’m a medical student at UAB with some flexibility before clinicals and am excited to meet your pet! Currently I am on dedicated study time for medical school so my schedule is completely flexible! I like to stay active so I go for a run once a day or go to the gym but can otherwise drop in for care or pet sit at any time! In my home I have a crate, toys, and a dedicated dog park that I can take pups to! In my clients home I would treat their pets just as I treat my own with lots of love and attention.

About: I have been taking care of pets since I was in middle school. From small cats to big dogs, I have been trusted by many neighbors, friends, and family to take care of and watch their pets! I am in Birmingham, Alabama this summer for a part-time theatre contract. I watch and walk pets before my daily rehearsals at 6pm! Weekend times vary. I have always been a high energy individual. If your dog loves to run and play, I am the perfect person for them! I also love to chill and cuddle with the lower energy pets.

About: Hi, I’m Madlyn! I've been passionate about animals my whole life! I have taken care of neighbors', friends', and family members' fur babies since I was 15. I am also a part time volunteer at the Alabama Wildlife Center, where I work in the rehabilitation clinic for sick and injured birds. I have a cat named Biscuit who is my whole heart, and I will be sure to treat your pet like my own! I have always had a love for animals, and I would love to bring your pets some extra joy and love while you are away! I have experience with all dog sizes, ranging from our Great Dane, who we sadly lost in 2021, to our Chihuahua-Beagle mix that we have now! I love to stay active, so I'll have no problem keeping up with high energy dogs! I have also taken care of senior dogs who need more attention and rest. I love all the cuddles and kisses! I am a full time student at UAB and working part time during the week as well. Therefore, I am only available on the weekends during the school semester. In the summer, I am available on weekends and weekdays! Your pet's safety and comfort is the most important thing! They become a part of the family to me! I can come and go as often as needed, and can assure that your fur babies will be in good hands!

About: I would love to walk/ hike with your pet, care for it at your home, or drop in to let them out. I have always loved animals ever since I was little. My first job was a pet sitting service, I was frequently asked to watch neighbors dogs, cats, bunnies, fish, etc. My friends often rely on me to take care of their animals while out of town and I have experience with older dogs as well as puppies. My dog passed away earlier this year and I won't be ready for anther dog anytime soon, but I would love to share love with your animals. I work seasonally and am currently off for my winter season. I would love to spend time with your animals either at your home or on walks/hikes! I can not watch pets in my own home but in my client's home I make sure to follow their rules and ask the important questions up front. I make sure to not leave pets alone too long and to be there for feeding times and to keep them company at night.

About: I am an absolute animal lover and have lived with animals since I was 16! I love getting outside and playing with dogs or walking them, and staying in and cuddling or caring for little cats. I have worked closely with animals making sure they’re doing well and taken care of throughout college :) I will also always provide silly and fun videos and pics of the animals throughout their time with me!! I’m currently a graduate student at UAB with very flexible hours. I am walking distance from my work so I can always check back in whenever necessary! I also have a little camera set up in my apartment which can check on the animals as needed :) I am always spending the night in my own apartment and will usually be at work on weekdays from 8:30-4 When I am taking care of pets I make sure anything that could be harmful to them is put up and out of reach! I know some animals can be a little finicky and have some storage where I know they wouldn’t be able to reach. I also have a security camera in my apartment which I can access to check on the animals as necessary!

Chloe provided more than just a walk and feeding. She made my pup feel loved and gave him some extra loving while I was away. I ended up getting home later than expected and she took initiative to go ahead and put my grocery delivery away which made coming home feel more at ease. Although it may seem like a small act of kindness, it’s the little things that make her the perfect fit for us!

  • 95% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
