“10/10 Jordyn was absolutely amazing with our dogs! We have two medium/large size dogs, one that’s a love bug and had never been boarded before and the other one has severe separation anxiety where previous boarding didn’t go well a couple years ago (previous time was with a different facility). From the initial meet and greet, to daily updates and photos she kept up informed but also made our anxious baby feel so loved. She has a beautiful fenced in area and we felt totally safe leaving our babies with her. We would absolutely use her again in the future! Thank you again for keeping our girls and they are already napping in the backseat :)”

“Harold took great care of our dog indie! He was very quick to respond and treated indie like he was one of his own. Harold sent photos every day and truly was a great dog sitter! Would recommend to him to anyone needing a caring, loving dog sitter!”

“He took such great care of my little pup! When I picked up my dog after his first 4 day stay with Doug, he was happy and settled (he is a sensitive dog! So I know if hasn’t been well with someone). I’m so grateful, Doug was wonderful!”

“First time I used Rover and it was great! Carson was very sweet and flexible and took care of my old boy. He was a bit nervous to be left with a stranger but he quickly made himself at home and Carson sent pictures to show me. Will definitely use her again!”

“Raegan was a wonderful fit for our timid little guy. They hit it off quickly, and understood each other well. We feel like we can actually trust that he's in good hands while we're away, and he truly just seems to enjoy his visits!”

“Ryan really loves animals and takes his dog care services seriously. He is great at communicating with his clients and provides plenty of pictures and daily updates. 10 out of 10, would recommend.”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats my whole life. I have trained two puppies. My boyfriend has a chameleon so I am good with all types of animals. I work in healthcare so I am free 4 days out of the week. I have lots of time on my off days to pick up side work and would love your fur baby to be a part of it! I currently live in an apartment, but I would love to take your dog out to the park. I go on regular hikes so they can come with me!
“Jennifer was so great with my boys! I had them stay for the weekend with her while I moved and I could easily tell how much she loved them. We will definitely be using her services again and highly recommend her!”

“Deby watched my pet rabbit for a week and did a great job! She provided regular updates and sent a lot of pictures. I would definitely recommend her if you need help watching any type of pet!”

“Jonathan and family provided a home away from home for our doggo. It was a long trip for us—6 days—and I was worried about our pup. But he thrived! It was such a great relief for me. I’m so grateful!”
“Alyssa was so good with our old girl! She has some trouble with stairs since she's an older girl but Alyssa moved her crate location so she could avoid the stairs. She also has some anxiety but it seems like Alyssa did a great job at helping her feel calm and relaxed in her new location. We will definitely be using her again when we next go out of town!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Birmingham
Corlaeja really came through for me and Billy. It was a very last minute booking, and she was not only able to do it, she did it exceptionally well. My boy—who is a brat—looked happy and healthy in every photograph she sent (and she sent regular photographs). And, of course, he came back to me the same way I left him. I will definitely look to rebook with her the next time there is an opportunity. Thanks again!

Milo had such a great time with La Timberly! 🐾 I could tell he was genuinely happy and comfortable the whole time. She kept me updated with lots of pictures and videos, which I really appreciated, and she was always super responsive whenever I checked in. It made being away so much easier knowing he was in such good hands. I’d absolutely trust her with Milo again!

I highly recommend Jimbo as a pet sitter. He went above and beyond to take care of my puppy Ginger for 7 days, even giving her a cute outfit and spoiling her with love and attention. He also provided daily updates and videos of Ginger playing in the dog park, which put my mind at ease while I was away. I was completely satisfied with his service and will definitely be recommending him to others in need of a trustworthy and caring pet sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
