“Ashlyn was wonderful! She took great care of Bob and he didn't want to leave her. She sent updates of how he was settling in along with pictures. I strongly recommend her and I will certainly use her again.”

“Ghost had the most fun at her house!! He swam (for the first time) and played his heart out. He was so tired when he came back home and I love that. Rachel was so nice and ghost looked sad when he started leaving!! Highly recommend he will stay again”

“So happy to have booked a stay with Kimberley! We had a seamless experience! Great communication throughout the booking, and Kimberley and her family provided wonderful care for my pup! I will definitely rebook!”

“Stephanie is (by far) our favorite sitter on Rover. She treats our little dachshund as if she is a member of the family and gives her so much love and affection. She is also fantastic to work with and we enjoy her updates. Highly, highly recommended.”

“Kyler was very responsive and made us feel so comfortable leaving our two German Shepard with her for the first time. I appreciated how she received the dogs and helped them get acclimated before introducing them to the other sweet pups in her care. She was great with updates and we loved all the pictures she sent. She even provided some special treats for our pups on their last morning which pictures proved they thoroughly enjoyed! We had a great experience with Kyler and will definitely be using her services again in the future.”

“Deby was wonderful!!! She made me feel at ease right away, even before we met her in person. Upon arrival, Deby greeted us and showed me around, asked a lot of questions about Lucy's personality, habits, etc. I think within 10 min I received a picture of Lucy curled up on the couch with Deby. She immediately took to Deby and felt at home and that was really obvious, so it settled my nerves and put my mind at ease and we were able to enjoy our first 100% pet free and kid free vacation! Deby made sure to keep in touch with us, send pics and was such a pleasure to work with. We won't be using anyone else!!”

“Barrie is just plain awesome. She loved our dog at least as much as we do. She sent updates and pics and I had zero doubt they my dog would come home a better dog. Sam loves to go for walks and Barrie gave her plenty of that! Can't say enough about what a great experience this was for Sammy....and us...I did not worry a second about her! Thanks for being a rockstar Barrie!”

“Briana was very sweet and professional. She treated Toby as her on. She reassured me with updates, pictures, and videos. I felt so comfortable leaving Toby with her the moment we met. Toby was so happy and very warming with the other dogs which he’s never been like that before. She made him literally feel at home. Brianna is heaven sent, I can’t wait to use her services again even if I’m not traveling. She truly allowed Toby the opportunity to warm up and show his sweet and loving personality. I can’t thank you enough Briana. You were awesome 😘🙏🏽”

“First time using rover. Danielle was great and very accommodating. You could tell she wanted to make sure owners are updated on their pet and gave a review of the stay on pickup.”

“Libby was so wonderful. Our dog is so timid with everyone and I love how much care and attention she was given. I also loved the pictures and updates. My family will be using her again.”

“Our boy loved his time with Harold. We appreciate that Harold has a calm demeanor which is helpful for anxious pups. Harold was great about sending us photos and keeping us updated on how Max was doing. The communication was much appreciated and we highly recommend Harold.”

“Danielle is the absolute best, and I’ll hear nothing to the contrary. This was my first time using Rover, and the sitter I originally booked cancelled on me morning of, but Danielle accepted our last minute request on a holiday weekend. I have an old dog with arthritis and medication who can be a picky eater at times, but that was no issue for Danielle. She not only made me feel at ease with constant updates and pictures, but she exercised and socialized him, and he may like her more than me now. My only regrets with this review are that everyone else will book her now and she’ll be unavailable next time we need boarding for a weekend”

Lawden was such a great sitter for our Odin! She helped us with pickup and drop off on time and was super communicative throughout the 12 days he stayed with her. She sent lots of pictures which showed Odin having so much fun playing with her dog and others. We never had to worry during Odins stay and we can’t wait to use Lawden again if we ever need to!
My kitten stayed with Jennifer for four days and she looked happy and comfortable throughout. Jennifer is very good about responding to text and she sent me a couple pictures with updates. She was kind and very helpful. I would definitely reach out to her again when I need a cat sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
