“Amiee was great, from the first meeting to actually booking the stay. Marley was a little nervous at first, Amiee was very patient with Marley as she soon calmed down and began to settle in. Amiee was flexible with her time very accommodating, communicated with me via text and pics. Marley was cared for just like her own, there was plenty of room for her to run and play around the yard. Yes! I would recommend and rebook with Amiee anytime.”

“Laura is fantastic. Very friendly and professional. She sent us several great pics of our dog playing with her dogs so we’d feel comfortable that our doggie was adjusting well and enjoying her stay in Laura’s lovely home. Thank you, Laura! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Wade & Morgan were fantastic hosts for our dog Boone over Memorial Day Weekend. Boone had a ball playing with their dog Atlas for 3 days. Wade and Morgan sent pictures and provided updates everyday. Would highly recommend!”

“Carli was a huge help taking our pup on a last minute request! She has great communication and was able to work with a couple changes in our travel plans to work out best for everyone. She stuck to our dogs schedule to keep him happy and comfortable and we didn’t have to worry about him at all for the duration of his stay.”

“My girl, Poppy, had the best time staying with Kyler and her dogs! She got to play inside and outside, and I received regular updates and plenty of pictures of Poppy and her new friends, so I felt very comfortable that I’d left Poppy in great hands over the weekend. Kyler had clear, timely communication from booking to even after pick up, and made the process as easy as possible.”

“Barrie is by far the best dog sitter that I have ever encountered. I loved the fact that she did a meet and greet with myself and my puppy, and instantly they bonded. The set up at Barrie’s house for my puppy was more than ideal, baby gates, kennels, food stations, and a large backyard. Thank you so much for watching and taking care of my puppy while I went out of town! Alicia Heckmann”

“Lawden and her husband are fabulous! Noira is so excited when she sees them and will go blasting out the door since she knows it means she’s getting playtime with them and their dogs! Lawden was also very flexible and worked with me when I had a last minute schedule change. I know Noira is in great hands when she’s with them.”

“Kaitlyn was so great, respectful, & friendly! She is very resourceful, a problem solver, & an amazing communicator! My puppy is such a timid one but she adjusted so well and had such a great time! Definitely would recommend & book with her again 😊”

“Rachel was amazing! She sent us pictures and updates during stay and let us know of any issues our pup was having. My sweet girl has food allergies and Rachel reached out to let us know plus did what she could to help. Will 100% be using her again in the future.”

“Opol was a godsend . Poppie seemed really happy and comfortable. I would.most definitely use her again! Her communication was awesome and he ate all his food. Thank you again!”

“Deby was wonderful!!! She made me feel at ease right away, even before we met her in person. Upon arrival, Deby greeted us and showed me around, asked a lot of questions about Lucy's personality, habits, etc. I think within 10 min I received a picture of Lucy curled up on the couch with Deby. She immediately took to Deby and felt at home and that was really obvious, so it settled my nerves and put my mind at ease and we were able to enjoy our first 100% pet free and kid free vacation! Deby made sure to keep in touch with us, send pics and was such a pleasure to work with. We won't be using anyone else!!”

“Jordan gave me peace of mind❤️ I knew with out a doubt that my Sadie would be loved and taken care of! I am so thankful for Jordan and her whole family, she stayed in contact and sent pictures everyday! She’s the best❤️❤️❤️”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
