“Cannot say enough good words!! Laura loved on my puppies and sent me pictures and kept me so in the loop while they were there💕 would absolutely use again next time we are in the area for travel! Thank you so much again for taking care of my fur babies!”

“Barrie has been our go-to dog sitter for our dog Jackson for 2 years now! Jackson cries with excitement every time we pull into her driveway! We never worry about Jackson when he’s with Barrie and always get pictures and videos to keep us updated. We can’t recommend Barrie enough!”

“Amiee was fantastic. She gave us updates throughout the time our pups were with her. Our dogs seem so happy and loved watching all the squirrels on her beautiful property. Highly recommend.”

“Wade and Morgan are AMAZING!! This was the longest I have ever left my pup so I was very nervous about being away from him but they made the entire experience effortless. They sent me picture updates every single day if not twice a day! My dog seemed to not want to leave their house and I could tell that he was very happy and very very well taken care of. I would recommend them to anyone who asks and I will definitely be booking with them again in the future! Thank you so so much Wade and Morgan I appreciate you guys more than you know!”

“Kyler was very responsive and made us feel so comfortable leaving our two German Shepard with her for the first time. I appreciated how she received the dogs and helped them get acclimated before introducing them to the other sweet pups in her care. She was great with updates and we loved all the pictures she sent. She even provided some special treats for our pups on their last morning which pictures proved they thoroughly enjoyed! We had a great experience with Kyler and will definitely be using her services again in the future.”

“Lawden was an exceptional caregiver. She sent me many photos along the way and was very cooperative with my needs! I would definitely use her again in the future!”

“Carli was a huge help taking our pup on a last minute request! She has great communication and was able to work with a couple changes in our travel plans to work out best for everyone. She stuck to our dogs schedule to keep him happy and comfortable and we didn’t have to worry about him at all for the duration of his stay.”

“Rachel is a godsend!! I’ve never had a good experience with boarding (dog owner for over 15 years), and I am SO THANKFUL to have found someone that cares for my boy the way I do. He had the best time and has done nothing but sleep since we got home!”

“Opal was incredible and I will definitely use her services when going out of town again! My sweet dog is 11 years old and has very bad arthritis but she took the best care of him and loved him like he was her own, and he had a great time! It’s so relieving when you find someone who will love and take care of your pet just as you do at home and will keep you updated with photos and videos each day. 5-stars!”

“Jordyn is the best. She gave us daily updates and was awesome with communication. In the past I took my dogs to a local dog boarding/daycare place and the dogs always seemed a little frazzled and anxious when I picked them up, but with Jordyn they were very happy and relaxed when they came back home and clearly well taken care of. I’ll be reaching out to her again for future bookings and highly recommend her to anyone.”

“Great again! He is so patient and kind when I changed my drop off time about 10 times the night before! Tilly and Smore always come home tired and happy! Zero complaints and will definitely use David again in the future for any stays we need!”

“Jordan was great with my special needs GSP puppa. I was in the hospital for a surgery and had to stay an extra night. Jordan was so accommodating on a short notice. She sent me lots of pictures and up dates and kept me informed. It really meant a lot to me to know my Coee dog was in good hands with Jordan and her family. I’ll definitely use her again to take care of my fur baby. Thanks Jordan”

“Deby took such great care of my Chiweenie during our spring break! I know he loved all the cuddles, snuggles, and sun bathing on her beautiful wooded and private back porch. She sent cute pictures and video of outdoor play time and I’m so grateful for her care!”

“Shelby was great! She gave us daily updates and it was evident she made our pup feel right at home. We have used her twice and great experience both times. Hope to use her again! Our pup came home happy and healthy!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
