“Harold was absolutely the best decision I have ever made about my dog. Hans is our little old man who is never left alone and likes to be with his people but not other dogs. Harold had Hans with him all the time. He sent us lot of pictures. Hans is back home now and does not seem the least bit traumatized or upset. We will absolutely use Harold again if the occasion arises! He was wonderful!”

“Opal was incredible and I will definitely use her services when going out of town again! My sweet dog is 11 years old and has very bad arthritis but she took the best care of him and loved him like he was her own, and he had a great time! It’s so relieving when you find someone who will love and take care of your pet just as you do at home and will keep you updated with photos and videos each day. 5-stars!”

“Wade and Morgan are AMAZING!! This was the longest I have ever left my pup so I was very nervous about being away from him but they made the entire experience effortless. They sent me picture updates every single day if not twice a day! My dog seemed to not want to leave their house and I could tell that he was very happy and very very well taken care of. I would recommend them to anyone who asks and I will definitely be booking with them again in the future! Thank you so so much Wade and Morgan I appreciate you guys more than you know!”

“Jordan and girls are the absolute best! They provided a very safe and caring home for our pup! When we picked him up he was happy and obviously well cared for! We will definitely use them to take care of Rocky again in the future!”

“Carson is amazing and we felt very confident that our Rosie would be safe and loved while in her care. She is always super quick to respond and sent pics and updates throughout the stay. She has a fenced in yard, which was a huge plus for us. We'll definitely be booking with Carson again!”

“Corlaeja really came through for me and Billy. It was a very last minute booking, and she was not only able to do it, she did it exceptionally well. My boy—who is a brat—looked happy and healthy in every photograph she sent (and she sent regular photographs). And, of course, he came back to me the same way I left him. I will definitely look to rebook with her the next time there is an opportunity. Thanks again!”

“Ashley is wonderful! She is incredibly attentive, caring, and thoughtful with our dogs, Peaches and Max. It’s clear how much she genuinely cares about their comfort and well-being, and we always feel completely at ease knowing they’re in her care. She’s also extremely easy to communicate and coordinate with, which makes the entire experience stress-free. We feel very lucky to have found someone we trust so much with our dogs and would absolutely recommend Ashley to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!”

“Kimberley was awesome! She was very accommodating and understanding of our older dog’s transition to a new area and home. Maddie loved her spacious backyard and her new friends, Sampson and Stokely. Maddie can’t wait for us to need Kimberley’s services again!”

“Tony took very great care of my doggie. He actually spoiled him rotten!! LOL. He can watch him anytime. I will continue to book with Tony for upcoming boarding and drop-in services.”

“Barrie is by far the best dog sitter that I have ever encountered. I loved the fact that she did a meet and greet with myself and my puppy, and instantly they bonded. The set up at Barrie’s house for my puppy was more than ideal, baby gates, kennels, food stations, and a large backyard. Thank you so much for watching and taking care of my puppy while I went out of town! Alicia Heckmann”

“Amy was fantastic! She picked him up and dropped him off on time, sent pictures and videos daily, and was very kind. He had a wonderful time! Will most definitely be using her again ?”

“They took great care of my Aussiedoodle. He looked so happy in every photo. She sent plenty of photos and him and each photo had a little blurb of how he was doing. It was very cute! I would totally trust them again with him. It makes it more enjoyable for him that they have their own dogs as well. I know he enjoyed playing with them.”

“Kyler went above and beyond to make me (and Cooper!) comfortable with his week-long stay! As a dachshund owner herself, I felt confident that she knew all the quirks and intricacies of caring for him, and it was great for him to be around other doxies throughout the week. Kyler sent daily updates and pictures — it’s always a relief to see your pup doing well and settling in — and she was super responsive regarding the pickup and drop off times. To have someone you know you can trust with your dog is invaluable — Kyler is our go-to sitter moving forward!”

About: I’ve been around both large and small dogs my whole life. I fostered Dog’s when I live in Ohio and I had 3 acres. My sister has 5 dogs and 4 cats and a lizard. I used to take care of them all the time while she worked. I used to have a special needs dog that I took care of before cancer took him from me in 2019. I have 2 dogs right now. One was a foster fail, lol. I am a mother with another job so my schedule is all over the place, but I make it work. I can watch over night occasionally. When caring for pets in the client’s home, I will do what is needed to keep the pet safe and happy. Walks, play time, I can administer meds if needed, crate if needed, cuddles, etc. whatever you need.
“As dog parents for the first time, we didn't know what to except leaving Curie for a week! Rachel took care of everything. She always kept us updated and sent an occasional pic when we missed her. Surprisingly Curie came back calmer, more obedient, with less biting habit. I'll surely recommend her service. Thanks Rachel.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Chelsea
Laura is the best!! My dog Lucy may have been disappointed to come home. Laura loved on her just like she would have been loved on at home. Laura is set up to dog sit or board for dogs much better than any vet or other facility ever could be. She gave Lucy plenty of snacks and time outside. If you’re looking for someone near Chelsea, Mt Laurel, Greystone, she is the one- just don’t take her from me when I need her. :) Lucy loved her! 🩷🐾

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
