“First time I used Rover and it was great! Carson was very sweet and flexible and took care of my old boy. He was a bit nervous to be left with a stranger but he quickly made himself at home and Carson sent pictures to show me. Will definitely use her again!”

“Jordyn was so patient with me as this was my first time using Rover. She went above and beyond with daily updates and photos. My dogs seemed to immediately feel comfortable with her and are pooped from multiple days of playing! Both of my dogs have pink noses and I asked her to please give them regular breaks to ensure they did not burn- my dogs noses look great! Thank you Jordyn!”

“Jennifer was so great with my boys! I had them stay for the weekend with her while I moved and I could easily tell how much she loved them. We will definitely be using her services again and highly recommend her!”

“Lauren was so attentive and passionate about my furbabies needs. She frequently sent updates and pictures. They were always smiling and being pampered. They are definitely going to visit Lauren and Cooper again.”

“Jessie was wonderful to my boys :) At the last minute, one of my boys had a medical issue and would need medication applied to his eye and Jessie didn’t miss a step. By the time we returned, my boy was doing so well! Both were happy and healthy and Jessie communicated effectively. Will absolutely use again!”

“Jonathan was fantastic! He accepted my booking request on short notice, which was a huge help. He kept me updated throughout my dog’s stay with pictures, giving me peace of mind while I was away. He was also very flexible with both drop-off and pick-up times, making everything easy and stress-free. Jonathan and his family were kind and welcoming, and it was clear my dog was well cared for and loved!”

“Maiya and her entire family were awesome with my Izzy. I felt very comfortable leaving my sweet precious baby with her. She went above and beyond. Communication was a definite plus. We got daily updates, which eased our anxiety about leaving her. We will definitely be using Maiya again for all our pet sitting needs.”

“Lawden was an exceptional caregiver. She sent me many photos along the way and was very cooperative with my needs! I would definitely use her again in the future!”

About: I’ve taken care of all kinds of pets since I was a kid. I grew up with 10 dogs and 4 cats. I still dog sit for my parents all the time and they have 11 dogs. I also have 2 dogs of my own. I have tons of experience and there isn’t anyone who loves animals more! I work remotely, so I’m usually available and flexible most weekdays for drop-ins, walks, playtime, and check-ins. Since I’m home often, pet care fits naturally into my daily routine and allows me to give pets plenty of attention throughout the day. I follow any direction my clients give! I’m experienced giving medicine to dogs and I am very attentive to any and all pets. I am very detail oriented and very reliable.

“Barrie was amazing!! She loved our dog like her own and he had the best time! My husband said he didn’t want to leave when he picked him up. She sent us pictures, videos, and updates everyday. We were at ease on our trip leaving him in such great hands. So thankful we found Barrie. We will definitely be back!”

“Deby watched my pet rabbit for a week and did a great job! She provided regular updates and sent a lot of pictures. I would definitely recommend her if you need help watching any type of pet!”

“Ashley was awesome with our two Boxer girls! Mags and Su had a blast playing in the big fenced back yard & with her pup and senior Boxer. I honestly think Su is going to have separation anxiety from Freya, she loved playing with her so much!! Ashley sent daily updates with photos/videos. We would highly recommend, especially if you have a Boxer, trusting Ashley with your fur babes!”

“Charlie and her girls were so sweet to Zeus! I’m so glad I booked her for this overnight stay. I loved the photos and that he was able to play the entire time rather than being stuck in a crate at the boarder’s. I would definitely recommend Charlie and plan to use her again!”

“Chyna was absolutely amazing with our babies, Hampton and Willow! She cared for them overnight and gave us such peace of mind while we were away. She was attentive, loving, and made sure both dogs were comfortable and well cared for. It’s clear that she genuinely loves animals and treats them like her own. Hampton and Willow were happy and relaxed when we returned, which says everything. We are so grateful for Chyna and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable pet sitter!”

“Harold took great care of our dog indie! He was very quick to respond and treated indie like he was one of his own. Harold sent photos every day and truly was a great dog sitter! Would recommend to him to anyone needing a caring, loving dog sitter!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Helena
Alex and her family were absolutely incredible and I cannot begin to thank them enough. Our regular sitter cancelled on us last minute and we needed to find someone ASAP to watch our two boys for 8 nights over Christmas. Not only was Alex available on such short notice, but she invited me and the dogs to come visit her before our stay which completely reassured me and helped alleviate my fears that the dogs would be somewhere new for such a long stay. She sent pictures and videos every day and was wonderful to communicate with. It was so nice knowing my dogs were being loved on and taken care. Thank you SO much Alex!! ❤️🥰

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
